This is a smaller format store than I'm used to, but this isn't a negative, nor is it something I can fault them for. Besides, I b elieve there's another location in Wilmette that is larger (I think). As with the Hingham, MA location, there is a lot to love. They have healthier, local, and small-batch items. The shelves are generally well-stocked, though there was a small handful of items that were completely out. There is also a large selection of prepared items, be it cold to take home or hot to eat right then and there. The staff I've worked with so far has been kind and friendly. Cleanliness-wise, I find the store is very clean. However, there was one visit where the area in the back by the coolers was unpleasantly musty. As far as I can tell, this was a one-off. What does make TFM a little less stellar is their prices. Look, I have no issue paying premium prices for premium products. However, when the same can of peas or jar of Nutella costs significantly more, I'm a little less thrilled. With this, TFM works great as a supplement to my usual grocer. This is especially true for prepared items, quality meats, and, of course, snacks! However, the more limited selection and high prices mean it isn't a full replacement for my regular grocer, yet.

I really wish there were more fresh markets in my area because the store was clean and beautifully decorated. I went to get poke (a bit expensive almost $18) for a standard 2 protein bowl. The person working the counter was very sweet though.

Extremely glad I made the short trip. Tortello has a casual feel: you order up front before you are seated. I ordered the cacio e pepe, plus foccacia with honey and ricotta as an appetizer. The latter was an excellent combination of flavors and textures, the savory and crunchiness of the bread with the soft creaminess and (not overwhelming) sweetness of the cheese and honey. The cacio e pepe had a high bar to clear as a result, but did so handsomely. The pasta had a pleasant bite, and the pepper and cheese were excellent. In short, a great experience. I look forward to coming here when it isn't 5 degrees outside!

There's a light casual feel because you order at the counter, but table service is still on point and prices match the white table clothes. I've walked past many times wanting to stop for dinner but they're often packed. It's first come first serve. So we lucked out with an impromptu dinner on a cold rainy evening. The heaters were on in their outdoor patio so we sat outside which can be quite romantic if you don't mind the squeeze. I most enjoyed the seasonal duck pasta (Pappardelle all'Anatra) and the focaccia with ricotta and honey; although their classic Tagliattelle Tina (popular dish denoted with a heart on the menu) was hearty and rich. Truth be told, we selected our dishes based on what we could not so easily recreate at home. And we were not disappointed!

I grew up with access to chemical-free, unprocessed honey and am always on the lookout for it when I move to new cities. I was stunned to taste such a delicate, nuanced honey in urban Chicago. As it was a beautiful, sunny morning at a park in Chicago, it seemed the ideal time to figure out why it was so darn tasty! It turn out, that much of this has to do with the history of Chicago having feedlots. Anyway, I was blessed to learn this, and so much more, at the Chicago Honey Co-op booth at Green City Market. Did I mention that they happily recycle the jars if you bring them back? I have since been back twice to purchase more honey for myself, as well as for gifts, and every review remains 5 stars. It is always a pleasure to see them and I highly suggest checking out their services. I already know that allergy season next year will be a breeze for me! Chicago Honey Co-op does ship jars but I know that I will be stocking up at Green City Market. It is a blast to sample the new batches of honey, catch up with them, and also experience everything else that this fully organic and sustainable market has to offer!!

For example with my mussels, rather than this large chunk of baguette, I wouldn't preferred it pre-sliced. We went on a busy Saturday night and it was popping in here for sure. However because it was so busy, my table ended up being neglected and our waitress was impossible to flag down. In terms of vibes, it seems like a pretty cool place to be. I liked the chairs and then the little booths seem like a fun time. I was also a big fan of the bathroom sink. Overall, Publican was a fine time, and even better time if you're looking for meat forward dishes.

Very unassuming, considering it's just your good ol' neighborhood butcher shop / market by day. Off the bat you can tell they carry clean, wholesome products. The shelves and fridges are stacked with the likes of fresh meat cuts, house-made sauces, cheese, jams, pickled goods... the list goes on. I can only imagine their deli sandwich are incredible. I'll have to return to order from their regular cafe next time I'm in town. The event however, wow very well done and the menu was stacked. Their sweet staff kept bringing out family-style dishes and I didn't have a single bite that wasn't delicious. From the butcher's steak to the mussels and everything in between. Oh and the night finished with some kind of apple/cranberry pot pie situation. Wow. Oh and plenty of wine and cocktail options here too! Like plentyyyy. Keeping this place on my radar for when I'm next in the city. Thanks for having us!
