Extremely friendly staff and great service. This place deserves your business and I couldn't ask for better ambiance.

Was on the peninsula for an appointment and when I wrapped that up my customer recommended I try the place. He told me it has been around for like 60 years or so and suggested I check it out. Not wanting to do the fast food place, I decided to give it a go. When I drove up the exterior it was getting a fresh coat of paint and a bit of a facelift, which is always good to see that owners care about the outside as well as the inside. I assumed it was a typical local tavern, it was huge inside and well kept, not the dive bar I was expecting. Full service lounge meets tavern kind of vibe. Very friendly, a lot of locals. Sat at the bar next a guy that looked like he was ZZ-Top band member. Was told the daily special was fish tacos. Looked at the rest of the menu, nothing really jumped out at me so went with the tacos. Ordered a Coke, because I still had one more appointment to go to so skip to the cocktails and beer. Tacos showed up and I've got to admit they were awfully big. Not that I'm complaining but I barely made it through the two of them. Very generous serving, but I'm not a huge fan of deep fried fish in a taco, kind of like kissing your sister, ya, it's a kiss but it just ain't right. But I'm guessing gourmet food is not what you come here for. Thought the price of $8.50 was a pretty good deal for two tacos that were that big. Probably my only complaint, was that my 20 ounce glass of Coke, was $4.50, a bit much for a fountain Coke. Made me wish I would've ordered a beer anyway. I'm all for making a profit, but this is a bar not Seahawks stadium. All in all though, a great place to hit if you're passing through. Next time I'm in the area I will stop in again, try a cocktail and spend a little more time.

It's a great place to grab a beer. Food is mostly out of the freezer but what do you expect. People are nice and it is real.

Real shuffleboard, friendly regulars (unlike Madison which is a treat) and a great bar staff (and they provide good service to the tables).

Cozy atmosphere. There were 3 employees that night, the woman who initially waited on us actually appeared to roll her eyes when we ordered. She seemed pretty rushed and just didn't want to work that night or something. The bartender was friendly and came for our second round and he actually seemed more welcoming and friendly. The drinks menu is a bit small (compared to other nearby bars). We got 5 drinks, one espresso one which wasn't great and the rest were alright. Nothing that made us go "Oh man, try that!" but they weren't bad either. The food, looks better than normal bar food, which I loved. We ordered "Balls of Gibralter" - North African meatballs, which were *SO GOOD*, so delicious EXCEPT the texture. The flavors were all amazing, but it was as if there was too much egg and not enough breadcrumbs because it gave the impression of being wildly undercooked, even though you could see no pink. If they were firmer, they would've been perfect. They seem to have a rotating grilled cheese special I wouldn't mind checking out next time. The ambiance-lovely. I've been here in the past pre-renovation, and twice since the reno has happened. Service is always kind, but this last time it was a little slower with it being busy with a game. The menu is pretty extensive and on par with most sports bar food. We just needed a small bite and didn't want to order anything too crazy, so we just decided to split the Buffalo Mac N Cheese. It wasn't mindblowing, but it was tasty for a quick snack. The mac and cheese was pretty rich and was topped with buffalo chicken bites. Overall pretty decent. We stay at Little Creek a few times a year for dart tournaments and always appreciate the dining options. We always keep Starlight Lounge in our rotation!

So... I do not usually take the time to review ANYTHING unless it is horrible or simply amazing. I…read morefigure anyone can have an on or an off day. This doesn't seem to be one of those times and warrants a review... Nay... A WARNING. My wife and our friends decided to venture out to a new spot for the big Seahawk, Niner game. One of our friends had seen Starlight while at the casino before and raved about the large screen and number of TV'S. My wife and I showed up an hour before the game to secure a table for six. Keep in mind we had already inquired about reservations but they do not take them. That is when everything went sideways. The man, please note I intentionally did not say gentleman, behind the counter was extremely short and frankly rude from the jump. He never smiled or showed any personality and was clearly already annoyed with seemingly everyone. It was pretty busy but he eluded he had a table for our party. However he quickly stated everyone had to be there at the time to seat us. I can understand even though with the attitude he was giving it caused some frustration. We were able to get on a wait list and happened to be first with a party of six. My wife and I were able to be seated at a two top while we waited for the others to arrive. He told us "Take that table, now" fairly sternly. At the time I didn't really think it was anything more than urgency. Like.... You better snatch it up while available. However, In the full scope of the night I honestly feel that he was telling us to get out of his face. Again, he never smiled. So... There we sat quietly complaining about the guy when the GENTLEMAN sitting at the table next to us joined in. He had been there for quite some time holding down a table for him and his wife. He described an earlier event when the man had gathered all of the staff together to bark orders at them. He said it wasn't as much of a meeting to organize and plan as it was a declaration of "I'm in charge". He said it was very uncomfortable. The wait staff was a bit overwhelmed but still very nice. We had what I would describe as the floor manager, Denise, finally come over to get our drink order. She was very sweet and a bit frazzled with the atmosphere and lack of organization created by the "man in charge". Our friends arrived and stood around our two top. We watched table after table get filled up by the man at the front. Granted, many of them were technically four tops but there was not even an offer to seat the rest of the group. EVENTUALLY, a booth opened up and several eager parties erupted into action, trying to scramble for claim. A gentleman rushed across the bar hollering, "Is that my both, is that my booth", and proceeded to stake his claim. All the while we were inquiring with Denise who rushed to the front to remind the guy in charge that we were on the waiting list and would like to be seated there with a couple of extra chairs. Amazingly he agreed and kicked the other gentleman and his wife out of the booth and after some protest I believe out of the bar. OH! I forgot to mention that at one point my wife approached the man to mention our observation that he had been seating other people ahead of us. His response was to gesture toward her and state, "If you continue lipping off I will kick you out". I also forgot to mention that when we departed our two top we told the couple next to us that were at a standing only table that we were being seated elsewhere and they should grab our table. Once we were seated we watched the man go over to them and kick them out. He then proceeded to post up a guard on the table so no one else would try to take it. The guard stood at the empty table for around 15 minutes before someone was finally sat at it. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences and if we had been able to relocate before the game started we would gladly have done so. I assure you I will not return even though the wait staff were pleasant and the food was rather tasty. I had two orders of the bacon wrapped jalapenos throughout the game because they were so good. Bottom line... The horrible experience we and others had and the chaos of service was all due to one man. A man who was clearly a narcissist with a need to feel powerful. A man who seemed to find pleasure in barking orders and letting everyone know he was in charge. A man who's attempt at "leadership" created discord and chaos that could have been avoided. That man happened to have his name on the card at the front desk and has the nerve to call himself the "Director of Food and Beverage". That man is Walter Hahn. The tribe would do well to replace Walter or at the very least make sure he is NEVER again placed in a position to interact with their patrons. And with that... I'm out!

At first glance it seems rather -- bleak. Four tables, a pair of pool tables, a large video golf game. A small counter that once had some seating but now doesn't. It may be necessary to get the server's attention because they are pretty busy in the lounge. Yeah, ambience-wise this place leaves a lot to be desired. But this little place has some of the best diner food in town. The portions are large. Substitutions are not a problem. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their burgers and sandwiches are burly and always fresh, I am not exaggerating, some of the best burgers in Olympia. Hot food is served really hot, straight off the grill. Fries have to take a minute to be cool enuf to eat. Salads tend to be iceberg lettuce based but are always crisp and fresh. To be clear, this is all pub/diner fare, nothing fancy. The coffee, alas, is the same weak stuff everybody else serves. But for food that will tame the meanest hangover or Jumpstart a miserable rainy day, this is one of the best places.in town.
