When money is at a premium, like in our current environment, you need a company that delivers and is above all, Reliable. We recommend American Bathtub Refinishers. Another thing, it's not just the refinishing itself that is excellent it is the attention to detail that puts this company over the top. Peter did a fine job of caulking the entire parameter of our tub. The bead of the caulking was perfect even at the base where the tub meets the floor - it really stood out because he carefully cleaned and prepared the surface. The final job framed the refinished tub beautifully. It gave our tub a look of precision and customization. Also, the ventilation equipment used was proportional to the job at hand. As a result, the vapors emitted from the curing process after the job was completed was minimal. Peter also made certain that all fixtures and windows were covered in visqueen plastic We've had contractors not bother to make this effort; and as a result, our place was turned into a dusty mess - not appreciated! The manner in which the visqueen and construction paper was installed impressed me. It was precision cut to fit the construction site in such a manner that no dust could leak through into the rest of the house and no over spill touched the floors and walls - very much appreciated! Peter's cleanup was as thorough as his refinishing work - again, this was appreciated. Overall, a most satisfying experience.

After Michael did such a good job on my last project, I hired him again to do a small bypass shower…read moredoor replacement project. Let's just say this wasn't his best work. The project got delayed a week because he miscut the frame pieces and had to order a replacement frame. He misread the instructions. When attaching the top frame to the side frames, he severely gouged and scratched the finish, and stripped the edges of the screw holding the top to the side. Also, the cut part of the top frame was rough. Michael admitted he didn't have the proper saw blade to cut this material. Once the 2nd frame came in and he brought the correct tools to do the install, upon my first use, water puddled outside the shower on my bathroom floor. He neglected to caulk both the inside and outside of the bottom frame, as directed in the assembly instructions. And one shower door was hung too low and dragged on the bottom frame. I'm not sure how this was missed during assembly as it was very obvious one door moved effortlessly while the other did not. Proper caulking and adjusting the door hanger solved the problems. While Michael apologized and made everything right in the end and did give me a discount off the invoice for the delay and frustration, all the issues could have been avoided if only he did not try to rush the project and had the correct tools for the job from the get go. Overall, I would score this a D- due to all the errors. . Michael is a good guy and wants to do a good job. I may use him again, should I have another home improvement project. However, I will make clear anything requiring assembly and having instructions to do so needs to be carefully read, proper tools on hand from the start and the project not rushed.
