The location and the ambiance are fantastic. The food, however is not good. My dining partner ordered a Margherita pizza, which arrived quickly on a cutting board. It was basically a frozen cheese pizza - gooey crust and Chef Boy-ar-dee sauce with a layer of cheese. No actual tomato or actual chopped basil leaves.
I had the ham, cheddar, and chutney sandwich, which was served on a thick ciabatta roll, but had so little chutney or watercress, that it was quite dry and tough to eat. Once our food was brought, we never saw the waitstaff again, except when one would happen up to bring another table's food. They wanted little to do, other than to grab up used plates and napkins. (I was able to save the second glass of water I had gone down to ask for, since they hadn't brought around a pitcher.)
It's early in the season, in the middle of Spring Holiday for most schools, so they will have a good chance to learn more table smarts before the season hits fully, but at this time, having all four staff congregating downstairs when there are four or five full tables upstairs is not going to bring in repeat business, or even good press. read more
