Since I was living out of state, I only learned of his decision to shorten his services by 50% when I found the ad for the sale on Craigs List. Mr. May, however, took the full, agreed upon commission despite his failure to uphold the contract. He also discarded over one ton of donatable items into a rented dumpster. I would not trust this company to go grocery shopping for me, let alone complete an estate sale.

When my mother unexpectedly died in February, we had a 2 room apartment full of antique and mid-century furniture and items most in excellent condition. Knowing that we had to remove all the items in less than 2 weeks, I feel we were severely low-balled. For what we were paid, they only had to sell one of the larger furniture pieces to make their money back and they "paid" for a truckload. So, to the people who purchased my grandmother's round oak table with lion's head feet, her cherished robin's egg blue velvet sofa, the mid-century modern Thomasville buffet, please cherish these items. These people are happy to take advantage of a sad and/or hurried situation. Find someone else to help liquidate your family's things that demonstrate some respect, fairness and compassion.
