I have taken my business to K-n-K since close to day 1 and I would return and take my business…read morethere even if I moved away (ideally to warmer climes). I expected to find a shop-owner, not a friend, when I began frequenting K-n-K. I found out that she drove her help to work when they were without a car. I like Laurie's story, which is going from banking/corporate to follow her dream of owning a thrift store (c'mon, haven't u always wanted to open your own shop?). And now her dream-come-true is literally bursting at the seams with deals and quality items (consignments must make it past her scrupulous eyes first). Some of the things she offers are Back to school needs, FRESH bedding, and Holiday must-haves. I could spend a gift card here in seconds, and next week too, as changeover is constant. I suggest you come on down and squeeze into the crowd of bargain shoppers at K-n-K. It's NOT an old musty granny store :)

A HUGE collectible/ junk shop that is filled to the gills of all kinds of old and new…read more Nanas has antiques, kitchenware, tools, furniture, cd, dvds, housewares, books, and so much more. A fun way to spend a rainy day in claremont. May of the prices are negotiable. I got a great deal on a DVD collection, marked at $65 and I got it for $20. The older woman at the front (Nana?) was very nice and friendly.

There are usually specials, sometimes it's framed art and mirrors, other times it's furniture. You never know. I've always found something.

Staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming though, and seemed to know their clientele. Looked like they also had a small pantry for people in need, which was nice. This wasn't really a spot for antiques, though I'm sure there were a handful of things that might be called antique in there, but it was more just second hand/ boot sale/ thrift shop stuff. I had just taken an art class making shapes out of old junk, and this place definitely had a good selection for something like that.

A great place for bargain hunters in the middle of the Green Mountain State…read more This store has an immense inventory of furniture, appliances, Knick knacks, clothing and virtually everything household related. Why go to a dozen state sales when you can come here and save the gas. There were a few leather sofas, many dining room sets, countless recliners and seating chairs, and chests and bookcases. Another side of the store features clothing, while a separate section has small appliances. Quality varies, from almost new to fairly worn. Priced accordingly. Perfect place for a new college graduate to set up household without spending a ton of money, or folks who don't need to spend a lot of money in a sofa that will likely become the cat's scratching post when they bring it home. And for the bargain hunter looking for treasures.

But once you hit the stairs to the 3rd- Clothes, Shoes, Books, DVDs, etc are on the left. Then Kitchenware, costume jewelry, plus a few other things- are on the right. I totally love their prices! I found a Retroish Mirror for $8 I couldn't leave behind. When I got home, I made sure I cleaned that bad boy thoroughly just to get rid of dust and everything else before hanging up in my Vanity Room. I'll be honest though, I love those hard-to-find clothes and home pieces from the 60s, 70s, 80s and I know I can probably find them here. I just think some of their items are a bit too holly-hobbyish for me. But I know, if I wanted to find another gem and had more time, I'd dig deeper.

Then they gave me an additional 15% off my total (i had to chuckle that they were thwarting my effort to support the cause). Overall it was a wonderful reminder of small-town hospitality.
