Advertises as a 24 hour spa. I may just find out one of these days. Initial visit was very nice. They also advertise $40 an hour which is reasonable. They have four masseuses on staff which is nice as it means your appointment will most likely be honored.
On the billboard attached to the second floor it lists some of the treatments. One of the treatments is 'water treatment'. Sounds a bit ominous. Anyone have any experience with 'water treatment' in a spa?
I decided to forego the treatments I wasn't sure about and just go with a massage and foot treatment.
Flushing is a rather convenient place to find a good massage. There are quite a few spas. Problem is finding a good one that is close to where you are and doesn't require a lot of walking or trying to find a new parking place.
Fortunately I was having dinner with some friends on Prince and 37th Ave, which put me in the general area of Chanel Spa. Prince and 37th Ave it is a 3 block walk which entails crossing Northern Blvd. And, since more than one friend recommended Chanel, I decided to give it a try.
I always try to do my spa visits before meals. I have learned that meals in Flushing never end. They go on and on and on. Even if I'm late for dinner, I try to visit a spa upon arrival. I found parking on Prince St, convenient for dinner and the spa. Price of parking was reasonable too.
Before I went, I called and they sent me a text with the address. I already had the address but I guess that's Chanel Spas protocol. Chanel isn't that different from a lot of places in Flushing. They must have one interior decorator that they all use.
Lucy was assigned to treat my aches and pains. It didn't seem like she volunteered so maybe she was next up. At any rate, at first she acted like my arrival interrupted her viewing her favorite soap. But she eventually started to laugh and all was well. As she forgot about the excitement on her soap opera and got into the rhythm of the massage, I was able to tactility sense where her skills lie. She then began to focus on her acquired skill set and the tone was set for a nice relaxing comfortable hour.
Despite the misgivings and slow start, I would like to repeat. As comfortable as I was after the massage, I had to summon reserve energy for dinner. Since this session went so well, maybe I'll go back and ask about their 'water treatment'. read more
