Enjoyed ourselves, just like being in a Casino in the states, you push the buttons it takes your money ... lol. I live in Reno NV ... been in plenty of casinos. Anyway one of us won some money, but although they had the ability to pay us out in US currency they would not do so unless we showed them the exchange slip they would have given us if we got the Canadian dollars from the Cashier rather than the ATM. Up until this time, we simply used credit cards and had no local cash. But we still had another day so we used the local currency at our next meal. Like in local home casinos, money lasts a short time, you enjoy yourself and you head to your next destination.

The worst thing though was a very large powerful English mastiff which came out of their room near the elevators on the second floor and began barking ferociously. We do like the pool and hot tub, the Le Labo amenities and the Harbor View rooms are great for the view. Skip the Willow stream spa- the services were mediocre at best and the mineral pool was totally lukewarm; even the hot tub in the general pool area was better. Best part about the spa was the snack area with the yummy PB oat brownie bites and iced lavender + butterfly pea infused water! That said, it's definitely still a hotel with "old bones" despite the recent remodel and it shows when it gets very noisy with street traffic and buskers on the weekend, even at night. Sound insulation in the hallway is next to non-existent so you will inevitably hear the drunk Bachelorette party girls making their way down the corridor to their rooms late at night, and screaming kids in the daytime. Something to consider if noise is something that you care about during vacation. Other than historic charm and solid breakfasts at The Bengal, I'm not sure what else the hotel has going for it unless you spend a fortune on the Gold experience perhaps!

Extra plus? The shower had such amazing water pressure and after traveling nonstop for a week, this was so relaxing to enjoy. The staff is usually friendly, though I didn't appreciate the employee who checked me in this time calling me "hey you," when they called me over to advise my room was ready. My name is right in front of you on the screen, use it. The hotel is connected by a covered walkway to the casino, so definitely wander that way and lose, or win, some money.

Twice already I was given complimentary upgrade. Front desk is always high in customer service. I don't gamble, but went I walk across the casino to get to the parking area or night market, there's no smoke whatsoever. I just found out they are pet friendly. And so is the night market. We called the local number to make our reservations and to avoid these online reservations agencies that just inflate the prices. We ended up with a nice hotel with clean rooms. Our room has queen size beds with a medium firmness. This room is clean and spacious. It has a large flat screen TV, a decent sized mini fridge, a dresser for those of us who like to unpack. The A/C unit heats nicely. There is a large vanity for the bathroom and the tub shower offers shampoo and body wash. The bonus to staying at a casino hotel is the addition of security. Less worries about your car. Then there's the restaurants that are available, here there are 5. So there it is, well kept rooms, plenty of free, secure parking, and on site restaurants as well as some adult entertainment before getting some shut eye. Much more relaxing here instead of being in the crowded big cities with minimal parking.
