My family has depended on this dry cleaner for years. Despite being told we would get a text message when our order was done, we almost never receive it and have to call to follow up. Recently, we took in 5 shirts (denim and flannel) and some curtains to be laundered and pressed. In the past, we have had received shirts back with cracked buttons whereas we would have to replace the button ourselves but this last set of shirts were done fine. The curtains (Swag and Valance) were cleaned but they weren't pressed or ironed at all so when we received them they were a wrinkled heap on a hangar. It reminded me of the denim jacket I had cleaned last year (by this Champs Cleaner) which they didn't iron/press either - maybe to have things pressed or ironed you have to pay extra? I guess for $50 (after the coupon was applied) I expected a better result. I feel the price paid didn't match the level of quality expected - which seems to be a trend with this location. We are going to try other dry cleaners in the area to see if we can get better quality for the price instead of feeling disappointed every time. read more

I'll start off by saying I haven't been to a cleaner in years. I was in this area at another appointment and decided to drop off my dresses because this cleaner is close to my home. They took my information, said they'd text me when my order was ready. Great, I didn't need them until next Friday (1 week from when I dropped them off). No problem they assured me. I call on the Wednesday before to see if they are ready and the guy says yes. What about the text you were supposed to send me? Oh well.. I get there on Friday and it's $27.. for two dresses. They did let me use the coupon on Yelp for checking in... think it was the 20% off coupon. But one dress isn't even a formal gown, both short, nothing too fancy. They did do a great job, my dresses are not ruined, but I feel like for two short dresses, $27 is pricy. If I was in need, I would return because I didn't have any issues. Guess I just expected it to be $20 or less. read more

I simply asked them to shorten two button-down long sleeve shirts so I can wear them untucked. One shirt turned out ok, but the other is still too long in back, plus the front is noticably curled outward. How could they charge me $27 per shirt just to shorten them? I had no idea it would cost anywhere near $54, let alone one shirt incomplete. read more

My daughter's wedding was last week and I took my dress to Champs the week before to have it steamed. It was a brand new dress, I bought for my only daughter's weddings. I stressed to the girl at the counter that it did not need to be cleaned because of all the beading. I even went back in after leaving because it did not say "Press Only" on the receipt and the girl reassured me that the dress would not be cleaned and it would be ready Wednesday before the wedding. I sent my daughter to pick it up Thursday, she returned saying it was not done, it just finished being cleaned then they would press it. I called immediately and was told the dress was not in (I dropped it in White Lake) it was in Clarkston, and YES they told me it was cleaned and was being pressed. I then drove to Clarkston. When I arrived and told the guy that I wanted to see my dress, he pulled it out and said "it turned out great". I took the plastic off right then, so many of the beads were missing and threads were hanging, I just wanted to cry. I told the guy I needed to speak to the owner. The owner, Jimmy wasn't in, but they got him on the phone. Jimmy proceeded to tell me that he could fix it and it would be like brand new, and it was "only a dress". He said he would have it to me by 4:00pm the next day. The next day was the day before the wedding, and the rehearsal was scheduled for 3:00p. I told him that was unacceptable, but at this point there was nothing I could do. I could not pay another $500.oo for a dress for my daughter's wedding and I did not have time to go shopping, anyway. Jimmy called me at 11:00am the next day to say he would be dropping my dress in White Lake in a half hour. He said I could meet him there, or I would have to go back to Clarkston to pick up my dress. I told him to just leave the dress, because I didn't have an option. I picked up the dress, the girl ask me to look at it, I thought "why?" I have to wear it.. The beads were NOT replaced, some of the threads were tightened, but the ones on the back were still hanging loose. I cant emphasize enough how important it was for me to have my request honored and how uncaring the owner was with such a horrible mistake. Yes, I didn't have to pay for them to ruin my dress, but I had to wear it anyway. I am soooo disappointed with the service at Champs and I tell this story all the time to ensure none of my friends do business with them. read more

These guys are always friendly and treat you like a client. The learn your name and care about delivering a great service. Example 1. Picking up laundry one morning and the top button of my overcoat pops off while preparing to go in the cold. The guys sees and takes my coat to sew it on right away. Example 2. Wife goes to pick up laundry and a few shirts were not given to her. Not normal for this team. I call to check to see if they had the shirts. They do and when i arrive they comp my 4 shirts. They did not do anything wrong but wanted to make sure i did not have a bad experience. If you want to be a client and treated well. Take your clothes here. They have a drop off closer to my house but i drive here anyway. Its also close to my weekend breakfast spot which is a bonus. read more

revised: i tried champs for over a year because they were close to my home. i'm done. done, done, done. i know that finding quality employees is damn near impossible, but when you pay a premium, you expect premium services. i will look elsewhere. prices here are deffinatly on the upper side. jimmy the owner reached out to me. he is very proud and takes criticism harshly and wants to make it right. he at first was very defensive and questioning, but calmed to correct the issues. he re pressed 2 items and all good. read more

Boy oh boy... I just read some reviews and I'm not too happy either. I'm happier than those folks as I just didn't end up getting my service done here (this time around). I'm currently on a business trip that was last minute and I needed some specific dress shirts done for so I called a day beforehand to ensure that this could be done and I was assured that it could be; this is why I'm upset. Ok, let me backtrack and start from the phone call. I called and told them that I had 5 shirts that I needed to have done for a trip that I was leaving for on Sunday (it was Friday around 6pm at this time) and they said that they could do one day service for me as long as I got it in there before 10am on Saturday (they close at 6pm, sweet!). My loving wife drives up there with my 5 shirts and they say that it cannot be done and she told me that the flamboyant man (I have many friends of this possible nature and am purely using it as a describing factor in the story) was being very rude to her saying that she doesn't know who I talked to but it was a ridiculous claim and it couldn't be done. I don't know who I spoke to on the phone either but it was a male and he was talking to another male in the background who he claimed to be the owner, saying things like, "yes we can do that for a $5 flat charge on the order" and "the owner said that if you get it here by 10am tomorrow we can have that done for you..." bla blal bla... Apparently this place isn't really that great at keeping their word.. Bummer because I was going to have them start picking up the clothes for the business I work at where they would have picked up another 20-30 more weekly clients... Looks like I'll be looking elsewhere for some good service because if they're going to treat my wife like that then I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone! They also lost a pair of my pants a long time ago to a suit that I had just purchased and told me that I never brought them in. So much for their scanning system that they attach to each garment... Oh well, time to find a new dry cleaner. read more

Middle of November 2020 - previous day covid numbers in Michigan over 9,000 new cases and the man behind the counter proudly states he does not wear a mask while at work...less that 6 feet from customers! We took a bedspread to Champs Cleaners. When I went to pick it up I was told that "I should buy a "real down bed covering" instead of the filling that was used in this one. The cleaning cost was more than $50.00. When I got home and put it on the bed it looked terrible... very "lumpy" and uneven. We had taken it previously to another place (which has now closed down) and they did a beautiful job on it. Champs should have admitted that they ruined our bedspread. Way to expensive for the quality. Washed my jeans instead of dry cleaning them the color faded. They denied but having work for a dry cleaners before i know color fade doesnt happen if they are dry cleaned. read more

Owner is amazing! They washed our Canada Goose and the black bleed through the white. Things like this can happen.. Owner took full responsibility and worked with the company and was able to send it in and get us a new one. I recommend everyone to these guys and will continue giving them my business. read more

I can't say enough about how much of a life saver Champs Cleaners is! I went to a wedding in the area and must have spilled some "grape juice" on my tuxedo rental that was due back the following day. I was worried sick about the fees the rental place was going to charge me, so I began stopping in every cleaners I passed on the way home. Every establishment told me they could not help me with less than a days notice, but not Champs Cleaners. The nice gentleman behind the counter told me "we will take care of you"! I came back the next morning and picked up my rental looking as good as new. I was so amazed by the red carpet treatment I received that I am now a customer for life! read more

I worked for this company for a handful of months and they are the most UNPROFESSIONAL people I have ever had the indecency of working with. They are rude to customers, they fuck up wedding dresses just days before weddings. They are so over priced for the shitty work that they do and I've seen first hand shrunk clothes, items sent out still dirty and wrinkly, even items lost. The guys at champs cleaners are great. I was referred there by a family member, and its even slightly out of the way for me but I'll never go anywhere else. Their drop off slot works out great if I can't make it there on a work day during business hours and they do a great job relatively quick. The prices are competitive and I love the email service to let me know when my order is finished. I would definitely recommend them! read more

Love the people here at Champs! I've been using their services for over a year now for all my laundry & everyone here is fantastic! I actually forgot they were closed this past Sunday. Thankfully I was able to message them on Facebook and the Manager was kind enough to come in and open the store so I can pick up my laundry that I needed Sunday night. Rude, overpriced, my white pants were returned in a new color...ivory. I can't remember In recent years where customer service is so important being treated so rudely and having my questions basically dismissed. I told them I was a first time customer...that's basically a gift walking into your business...I had questions and the answers were short and rudely given. I have been a business owner for 30 years and can't imagine having longevity without treating customers with patience and appreciation for their patronage. I will never be back. If I could give this place of questionable business a lower rating I would. One star rating couldn't even begin to say enough about the terrible service myself and my wife experienced. Not sure where to begin but upon losing some of our articles of clothing and multiple attempts of trying to locate them, my wife finally went in and had to look through the business herself and found it. I think its crazy when someone who does not work there has to ind their own belongings because the staff is to incompetent to do their very simple job. Once the belongings were found they were not even clean and we were still charged full price, not to mention all belongings dropped off were not together they had actually lost items. so we again had to continue dealing with thee morons for about a month before we wrote the clothing off as lost. Out of the blue about five months later we received a call asking if we were going to pick up our items (that we thought were gone forever) when I had gone in to pickup the items, I had inquired about how they lost and magically found them, the manager at the time refused to admit they lost them because and I quote "if you have all your items, then how are they lost"? I got to admit when you are to dumb to realize that your staff told us they lost them five months ago that is how we lost them, I guess bad management breeds bad service. I will not ever use these useless people ever again and ask that anyone who reads this not use them either. read more

By far, the worst experience ever! They lost my wedding dress, slip and veil. After a week of stopping in every day, they finally found the dress but have never found my other belongings. It has now been 6 months and still nothing. I called every few days for the first 3 months and now assume they are gone. I don't know what type of dry cleaners doesn't have identification on the items that get dropped off. On top of that, when i picked up the wedding dress they said they were unable to get it fully cleaned and charged me $110. Please do not use this terrible establishment! read more

I was washing my clothes at home and accidentally got pen all over my 7 of my shirts and 3 of my pants. Champs Cleaners was the only place that does all their laundry, dry cleaning at there location and removed all the stains. The best part is that they were ready for pick-up 2 days later. They looked brand new and there was never any stain. Thank you very much Champs you have found yourself a loyal customer. read more

I was home for the holidays and needed some dry cleaning done. My family recommended Champs as they have always had a great experience there. I also had a great experience! Everything turned out great - clean and well-pressed - and they were even able to replace the zipper on a dress for me. I was very pleased with the quality and the affordability. The staff was very friendly, helpful and made the process very easy. I highly recommend Champs and will be sure to use them again the next time I am in the area. read more

Horrible business practice. I had taken winter coat in for repair. It was lost and after 4 attempts to talk to the owner to resolve this problem, nothing has happened. He has not returned my calls or offered me apologies or compensation. I would never recommend this dry cleaners. Go to Spencers right down Sashabaw instead. read more
