It looks like a sad (huge) empty place. They have four beers on tap but were out of one. Several people at tables, looking sad, waiting for their food. The whole place was empty but the only three couple diners were pushed into on area, sitting right next to each other. Great service from Ivan and the whole team.... he made really good drinks, and they also accommodated a boxing match and UFC fights on a couple of TVs, which made us feel right at home. Great for watching sporting events and having american bar food. They have a sampler or half sampler that has a great variety. I have been to champions all over the world and they have consistently similar things. The wings were deep fried. The sauce comes on the side. Meh. Average American bar food in Mexico... Champions is convenient for people staying at the Marriott, but honestly there are much better options. We stayed in the Cinco de Diciembre neighborhood during our visit to PV and wanted to check out one of the resorts just for the heck of it. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon and found the restaurant virtually empty. There were a number of employees standing around chatting because there was nothing to do. The restaurant is a typical American sports bar. There were ample televisions showing sports and news. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and my sister got the chicken sandwich. We both thought the food was just okay. Not bad, but nothing to rave about either. The fries were good though so that was a plus. I didn't eat much of the cole slaw, but that was okay too. For dessert we ordered the key lime pie and strawberry shortcake. My sister said the pie was decent, but thought it should have been colder. It was chilled, but not cold like it had been taken out of the fridge. I loved the strawberries and whipped cream, but didn't like the cake. We both liked the limonada.. we ordered them with seltzer. I've had better at other local bars, but they were fairly decent. Our waitess was nice and the entire staff was attentive to our needs. The bill was 830 pesos ($41 usd) which is the most expensive meal we had in ten days. Resort prices are a bytch... do yourself a favor and go to a neighborhood bar. The prices are much more economical and you'll get to mingle with the locals. Champions is like going to a bar in the states. You could've stayed home for that. read more

Was my least favorite out of the Marriott restaurants. Service was slow even with only 4 other groups there..food wasn't as good either... the 3 stars is for the Mac n cheese my kids wanted... I didn't try it but they said it was good. read more

The only reasons we were here in the first place is because it was late, we were hungry and we had a resort credit of $50 to use. Four of us ordered food and drinks and the bill came out to just over $50. Cheaper than I thought it was going to be. I got the chicken Caesar salad, which was quite delicious. My buddies got the quesadilla, chicken sandwich and chicken wrap. Everybody was happy. The fries looked fresh and hand cut. I didn't try them was told they were a tad too salty. After dinner the chef came out and gave us some complimentary ice cream. Nice touch. Good service, good food and lots of TVs, as there should be for a sports bar. read more

Came here before dinner to watch a baseball game, specifically the Yankees on their big screens. Enjoyed a cold beer and white wine. It's 9 pm and very few patrons are here. There are lots of TVs surrounding the place with various sporting events on. This Champions is located at the Marriott Resort where we are staying for a few nights. It appears to be very clean. A large bar takes up one whole wall along the perimeter. For our purpose tonight, we were very pleased. read more

Greetings. Staying here at the Marriott in PV and decided to try this spot. Chicken tortilla soup wasn't good. Chicken tenders was ok but I've had better of course. Food was lacking seasoning and needed a bit more attention. It seemed the kitchen wasn't too interested in making the food have taste. Ordered the apple cobbler for dessert and it came out completely burnt. As soon as it was put on the table you could smell the burn. Huge sports bar in the Marina Marriott. The service is great. They have Los Muertos Brewing beer on tap. Nice selection of spirits and drinks. Service is great. The food is pretty average for Vallarta. I have had several different kinds of tacos here and they were unimpressive. I get 20% off my bill because I have a membership to the spa and I still think it is a tad overpriced. I come here because they have a ton of TVs and one very large wall screen that must be 15' (5m). There are pool tables and darts. It will hold a large crowd and there are always many people that represent their teams. read more

The appeal of this sports bar is probably all the TVs. The food was just so-so... traditional American sports bar fare. If you are on vacation and get tired of all the amazing Mexican food, you could get a break from it here. We had the all inclusive package with Marriott and had dinner here one night. The waiter asked us how we want our fish and chicken cooked... medium rear, medium, or well. We just stared at him in shock. That was definitely the first. Ordered a burger and never asked how we wanted that cooked. The burger tasted like rubber however it was cooked. Service was extremely slow as well. Needless to say, will never return again. Definitely not worth being part of Marriott's attempt at a not-so inclusive package but that is another review. read more

Excellent place to watch sports! TV's everywhere and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The youthful manager, Jorge, greets every patron personally and makes sure the staff is service oriented. Food great and fairly priced! I recommend it! read more

Visited Champions while we were staying at the Casa Magna for a bachelorette party. The servers were super friendly and all the food we had was amazing. After the servers found out we were there for a bachelorette party, they gave us all complimentary shots and congratulated the bride. Couldn't have asked for a better dinner or better service.
