She had a handyman install a water heater that subsequently caught fire. The handyman came back out and replaced it, but I had serious concerns about the quality of his work and my mom's safety. I called out the local Mr Sparky office who sent a technician that was rude, pushy and disinterested in looking at the water heater. He insisted that her fuse box was well passed its lifespan and told me the wires inside were all melted and that it needed to be replaced immediately at a cost of $8089.00. I told him I would need a second opinion which agitated him. I called Mid Penn and Brian came out the next morning. He was courteous and thorough in his investigation beginning with the water heater. He didn't see any obvious problems, but tightened up the wiring done by the handyman. He looked at the panel box, meter and so forth and determined that everything was still within its expected work life and functioning correctly. It was a completely different experience and saved us from being robbed by the other electrician. I can't thank Brian enough for putting all of our minds at ease with his respectful business demeanor, thorough review and clarity on so many seemingly frightening bits of misinformation. We decided to enroll in there program to come out regularly and check in the electrical systems in my mom's house. You can't buy that kind of assurance to concerns for a loved one. It's earned. Thank you, Mid Penn Electric and Brian.

Last time this happened, I caller Kline's Services, but since last time, theyre were bought out by environmental company and prices sky rocketed, so i shopped around. Remembering my time as an HVAC tech, I recalled LPH good rep, so I caller and scheduled them. Dave B. came out and seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. He spent time snaking sewer line till clog was gone. He even cleaned my slop sink, which was full of Shit, literally. One top of that, he only charged me for the special rate they were having for main line unclogging. Now this worked out great, as my special needs kid was putting baby wipes in toilet, unbeknownst to me. These reviews kinda scare me to give these guys my HVAC service, but as far as thus plumbing issue is concerned. Dave B and LPH get 5 stars.

We called to get a quote to replace a heater blower in our HVAC system. The problem had already been diagnosed. In fact, thru Shorty's in Indiana, we were quoted a price for the Carrier brand blower motor- $790 In fact, Shorty's told us what an easy fix this particular blower motor was. FYI: Shorty's marks up the prices by 20% to the trade and consumers. https://shortyshvac.com Bruce quoted a price of $2001- the highest estimate we had gotten from 5 companies. What part was being used, an EOM, or an aftermarket? We have no idea what that $ 2001 entailed- a massive markup on the part is what we presume, or an incredible hourly rate. We told him the price from Shorty's and he responded that his supplier was double in price. (WUT??) We bought the part from Shorty's. Had to ask twice via text to learn that Bruce was not interested in installing it for us. " We can only install parts we source and purchase. The installation of customer supplied parts presents issues with insurance coverage and warranty policy." What issues are they Bruce? is it that this job means you are making less money since your supplied parts markup is gone? Am sure that is it. Lack of transparency is not a winner for us. We have a 1 year warranty for this part from Shorty's. This quote and final response was unfortunate, especially knowing that we had opted to move to New Holland HVAC after our contract was over. No longer happening.
