We liked his candid style and his pricing was in line with many of the other people we looked at. After a quick, but friendly & effective, phone call, we decided Chris and his wife, Ali, were the right choice. As mentioned in another review, they did a great job with the timeline and getting the shots we really wanted. There were a few really great shots where they really captured the emotion and expression of our guests & our couple portraits were beautiful. The photos were well edited--natural looking with just the right touch of artistic styling in the color and composition. I really appreciated how easy it was to get in touch with Chris before the day. Chris and Ali were so calm it made the posed shots feel easy. They were also unintrusive during the whole affair, but made sure to check in just enough so they were sure we got what we wanted. One thing I may have asked for, but did not, was a few more detail photos. They captured some photos of the flowers, decor, shoes...but we missed the classic ring photo.

I knew his photography would fit the general vibe of our engagement shoot and wedding, and we ended up hiring him pretty early on in our wedding planning process. Through all of the ups and downs and changes of planning a wedding in one of the most problematic years possible Chris was responsive, understanding, and flexible anytime my (now) husband and I had literally anything come up! He even was fine with us rescheduling our engagement shoot. (We just weren't feeling up for it after finding out that our sentimental engagement shoot location would not be reopening... ever--boo hoo!) Instead, he and his second photographer, Alli--who also happens to be his wife, met up with us for a cocktail at a local bar to get to know us and our love story. On the day of Chris and his team arrived on-site early and got right into exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the historic mansion and grounds that would set the scene for our wedding. Throughout the day Chris was already prepared with locations, props, and poses for each set of photos--getting ready, bridesmaids, newlyweds, group shots. He put so much thought and concern to create the perfect scene to capture each chapter of our wedding day. All of our "must have" and "special" shots that we had mentioned in the pre-wedding questionnaire were captured throughout the day also. Chris and his team worked well to capture everything and communicated flawlessly while shooting. The final gallery that Chris edited and compiled perfectly retells the story of our wedding day in a way that I can't even put into words. I am forever grateful to have a photographic story that beautifully taps into the emotion and energy of the day so that I can share these memories with all of my friends and family who were unable to attend the wedding. In the wedding package I got, it included an engagement session, engagement book, both photographers for the entire wedding day pictures (so, getting ready pictures all the way through the reception), and a beautiful wedding album. This was their middle package, but there are many different packages. I've never been more impressed with professional pictures. My husband and I aren't the best picture takers, but Tiffany and Dean made us so at home that we felt completely comfortable and it shows in all of our pictures. They were also very accommodating when I didn't want to leave our venue to do pictures after the wedding and found some great places at our venue to do beautiful pictures. They also help set up a day of wedding schedule to make sure pictures go according to time. In my case, our schedule was way ahead of schedule (I may have a minor case of OCD and stuck completely to the schedule), so they really had some time to take some great pictures of our reception as well. They went around and got a picture of almost every table (which is great to use to remember everyone who came!). Additionally, Tiffany was really great at making everyone feel comfortable especially when we were doing family photos. She was also really great at getting my 2 1/2 year old flower girl to take a few pictures (although, at 2 1/2 she was very stubborn for most of the pictures!). I could go on and on forever about Follow Your Heart Photography, but I think that the best way for you to know how amazing they are would be to use them yourself for your function. I know that I will never use any one else! They also do other pictures as well (I've seen senior portraits, baby pictures, family portraits, etc.). As my mother in law has said " you would think for all that money they would have taken some shots of your faces up close!" They took very few portraits of us even though I specifically asked for that to be the main focus of the pictures. The ones they did take are again "ok" but not a single close up. From what I hear Tiffany is a very nice person, I again did not experience this, she yelled at me on my wedding day..... Which has since left a very bad taste in my mouth about their photos and them as a business. They made a fabulous trio. I really enjoyed her soft light voice, and her immense sense of humor. She started of with a song titled February 14 that had fun lyrics and an ending line that catches you by surprise. She local so she's a must see in my opinion. From the Bay Area was Queens d light, another young talented gal. She specializes in hip hop style of music. Now I'm no expert in this style but I was amazed at the amount of energy it took to perform this. The fast talking and singing and well as having to master a small board of electronics to play her customize music and beats. Thanks again to all the many sponsors of this event. First up was: Debe Fennell vocals Wythe Walker piano/guitar Debe has a beautiful voice and performed a few of the songs a capella. She has been in the music industry in some capacity for years but it is in her 60's that she finally is following her dream of singing. Wythe played both the guitar and piano perfectly. Next to perform: Elise Lebeck from Bay Area composer was the second Artist to sing. Elise described her music as New age mellow relaxing with lots of improvisation in her music to keep it fresh! She said improvisation is something she has liked to do with her music from the beginning. She has "Heart Song" album on Pandora. A few of the songs she performed: Fresh song "Raspberry Morning" "Imagine" was my favorite Song of the evening. "Speed Train"- new song "Lullaby"from last Album Parlor is looking to find 50 Hosts. They will pick the genres that matches the house. I had such an amazing evening. I hope more people consider supporting such a fun and unique event.
