I originally met Eric at a reptile expo, where I purchased an egg from him. At the time, Eric was extremely patient and helpful in helping me understand exactly what chameleon care entails, what necessary supplies I needed, and pointed me to a massive wealth of resources on his chameleons101.com website. He was also very generous in his pricing, such that I was able to purchase a starter cage, heat lamp, and manzanita branch all at wonderful prices to prepare me for the chameleon to hatch. Over the next 10 months, I waited for the egg to hatch and consulted Eric regularly with questions and observations. Eventually, my egg failed and I immediately contacted Eric for help and next steps. Not only did Eric handle the situation with extreme professionalism and integrity, but he also went above and beyond what I would have expected. Eric guarantees his eggs (as long as they are cared for according to the clear instructions he provides), but he is also realistic about the fact that he cannot guarantee that every single egg will hatch with 100% certainty. So, I was completely prepared for the possibility that the egg would fail. When the egg did fail, Eric immediately got on the phone with me to answer all of my questions and explain what he think went wrong in a way that was both helpful and informative. Then, he clearly talked through all my options for replacing the egg. After our discussion, I decided to drive to Eric to pick up a live replacement baby. Upon arriving to the site of Eric's breeding operation, I was extremely impressed. He was always very organized, knowledgeable, and responsible via phone, email, and text. In person, his breeding facilities were equally organized, clean, and extremely well-run. He has a huge stock of eggs that he carefully monitors and maintains, and a huge inventory of healthy chameleons. He was prepared for my arrival, having selected a baby chameleon for me to take home that he assessed to be healthy, active, and alert, as well as having prepared a stock of starter food and a few other helpful starting items. I noticed that he very carefully asked me all about my care plans for the chameleon and my cage setup to ensure that I was adequately prepared to take good care of the animal. He was also extremely patient with me as I asked questions and ran ideas by him for care plans and troubleshooting potential problems. I left feeling extremely confident in my preparation for taking care of the chameleon, and also extremely confident in my ability to contact Eric with any problems, questions, or general needs in the future. Overall, although I have not worked with other breeders as comparators, I could not be happier or more impressed with my interactions with Eric. I believe that he cares for the people he works with, but more importantly, that he cares very deeply for the animals he breeds. I'm very happy to support an ethical business with such high standards of care, and I feel very valued as a customer. Not only am I impressed with Eric as a professional, but also as a genuine expert in this field. In response to any question you could ask him, he will either provide factual information known in the field, or anecdotal evidence based on his extensive experience caring for chameleons. I look forward to working with him more in the future as I raise the chameleon I purchased from him, and I would absolutely recommend him for anyone interested in purchasing a Panther Chameleon! read more

I am not one to ever write reviews, but I have to for Eric. I am brand new to the reptile world and wanted to get a panther chameleon. I have always wanted one. Eric talked me through the process of buying an egg vs buying a mature adult. He explained to me the difference and the work that would go into each path depending on which one I was going to go with. I ultimately chose to go for it and bought an egg from him. I sent him photos of my enclosure, and he had some issues with my setup, informing me of what needed to change in order to allow for a healthy and proper upbringing of the chameleon. He was not a fan of certain aspects, and I informed him of why I went the way I did. Due to other reasons, we talked about how to overcome them and create a good, welcoming home for my new hatchling. During the entire process, he was straightforward with everything, and it didn't feel like he was trying to upsell me on anything or really even boast about his product to me. He was just talking and teaching me about what has worked for him. That, to me, was the ultimate sales tactic. He was always quick to respond. Highly recommend working with Eric and Chameleon101. read more

I have learned that hatching a chameleon egg is difficult. But finding a reliable and trust worthy breeder is even more difficult. I purchased a chameleon egg from Kristophers khameleons last August. I did everything that I was told to garenteed a hatch. When my egg hasn't hatched and the substrate was molding. I had more information from people on a chameleon facebook group. I was unable to get ahold of the breeder for 2 weeks. Finally I was able to get ahold of the breeder and informed me to water my sponges and the egg should hatch at least in a week. After a week the egg started turning transparent. I sent pictures and messaged kristophers khameleons this information. I didn't heard from him for a week and his website was done. I again posted this information on the Facebook group. This is where Eric Thompson of chameleon 101 saw my post and was happy to help me out not with just information and care but also sent me an egg that was viable. (The egg from kristopher was a dub and started to mold over). He helped me out with making sure that I have a pleasant experience. I would recommend chameleon 101. Eric Thompson as your breeder. read more

Purchased an egg from chameleons 101 and it hatched perfectly and I'm currently in love with my new baby. However, I had a question regarding the egg and spoke to a man named Eric Thompson and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I've had with any breeder. In his emails he flat out said "I don't care for pictures this is about business show me the setup" which make me sick because it came after I had the egg hatch and me being proud wanted to know if he wanted pictures of the baby the previously mentioned statement is the email I received back. This was also after I told him the information like, tank temps (ambient and basking), current diet, and UVB setup and bulb size and wattage. He gave no useful information and only made me not want to be a repeat customer and I highly suggest people find a breeder and not a farm because reputable breeders care about the animals they "care for" and not just the money and clearly, from my conversation with this poor excuse of a man, all this company cares about is "how can I cover my butt and make money" not " what's best for these beautiful animals" read more

we first off started with a chameleon egg and everything was going well but it started to get a bit discolored and started to grow mold, I contacted Eric (the owner of the business) and he was super helpfu! this is doesn't usually happen, most eggs hatch, this was was just a random thing! he gave me options of him sending a new egg or i could pick the upgrade program, to get a 4 month old male panther chameleon! for a discount price! we ended up going with the upgrade program and we were not disappointed! we got the cutest little baby panther chameleon, and he's doing so well! within only the second day we were able to hold him and he's getting used to us!! also Eric was so nice because we didn't have the right heat bulb for the panther chameleon I named Steve, so he sent us a 40w for free! plus starter food!! we are so pleased and excited about this experience I wanted to share this with everyone!!! thank you so much Eric we love Steve so much and he's already such a big part of our family!!! read more

I fell victim to purchasing a Panther Chamelon Egg from a reptile expo, they provided me all of the care info which ended up being a QR code that took me to Chameleons 101's website. I am so thankful it did, I felt like something wasn't right and reached out to Chameleons 101 on Facebook, the owner was EXTREMELY nice, and so helpful, even though I didn't purchase my egg from him. For our 16th anniversary, my wife surprised me with a chameleon egg from Chameleons101.com. I've kept chameleons before, but this was a completely different experience. Watching the egg grow and finally hatch was something special -- my kids were just as excited as I was, and it turned into a family project we'll always remember. We planned ahead, had the right setup in place, and even bred fruit flies in advance to make sure the hatchling had what he needed. When "Kirk" finally hatched, it felt like Christmas morning. Now he's thriving in his enclosure and keeping us entertained every day. This was more than just getting another chameleon, it was a whole journey that brought my family together. Thanks to Eric and his team for making it possible. read more
