This is WHY the turnover rate is so high! Let me tell you, I even had PARENTS tell me how unfair it was for us to have that many kids in our care. I even had my PARENTS help me because it was too much. When I was doing my training which just consisted of a packet to fill and a notebook with information. Not ONCE was I asked if I wanted a flat surface to do my work on, instead, I used my lap. Not ONCE was I checked on, with a simple, "how are things going, is there a way to make things easier for you to transition," OR "I know this is a lot right now, but you're doing a GREAT JOB."As a Christian Preschool, there is a BIG disconnect between the two. I was also "expected" to know where things were. I was NEVER formally introduced in depth to the building or to the second person in charge which gave me an attitude and the person training to EXPECT to know where it was when we had trash full of dirty diapers (did they just expect us to stink up the classroom? ), for instance, the janitor. I was NOT properly trained. There were criteria but how can you do it in the RIGHT state of mind when you have to get to know OTHER kids? There's a reason why teachers quit. I've been in child care and behavior therapy for children with Autism and this is the worst experience I've ever had. She pretty much told me "childcare isn't for everyone," no, you don't treat your employees unfairly in childcare. Through a grapevine parents from the church wouldn't ENROLL THEIR KIDS THERE. PROS: - The staff was nice - Children were sweet CONS: - Management 100% - UNSAFE playground entry gate (broken) in a second someone can walk in or the kiddo can walk out - Late lunches - Communication between manager and staff is horrible - Disgusting toilets - Unfair ratio requirements - * YOU DON'T leave the time agreed upon (seems like for the most part) - No medical, vision, dental, no maternity leave - Minimum wage if resign without 2 weeks THINK ABOUT IT FIRST! Stay away I would say. It's stressful, so is the pay worth it? Honestly, no.

The teachers and staff are incredibly loving, caring, and attentive, and they have truly made her feel special and cared for. She originally attended Stonebridge for daycare, and when it came time for Pre-K, we knew we wanted to keep her there. After receiving an education scholarship from TEFA, choosing Stonebridge for her Pre-K year was an easy decision. We actually live about 30 minutes away, but the drive is completely worth it because of the care, attention, and love Alexandria receives every day. As a grandparent, having a place where you genuinely feel that your grandchild is safe, happy, and loved means everything. My son was crying telling her he didn't want to go to the baby room saying "I'm a big boy". This was not a stern or firm teacher voice, this was screaming and berating my son in front of his classmates during their nap time. My son should not have had to go through that, the other children in the class should not have had to hear that. As a former teacher myself this is NO WAY in which to speak to a child, especially for not napping. This "teacher" does not deserve the title and should not be working with children. Once she came to the door, her tone completely changed, she became extremely soft spoken and sweet. The hypocrisy was ridiculous. I mentioned the experience to the front staff as the director of the school was not there. They apologized.

Luckily, I met another mom who had just learned about Trivium, and told me about the new Plano campus opening. We are now 3 months in, and I could not be more thrilled with her education. They utilize classic education techniques, and also include amazing technology designed to help identify both "gifted" areas and areas that need a little more attention. My daughter is absolutely thriving at Trivium, and is genuinely excited to go every day. I also love that the Trivium teachers and staff encourage parent participation in the school. They seem to want all parents to be involved, but without pressuring them if time doesn't allow. Because of this, I've gotten to meet other teachers (aside from my daughters), other parents, and all her friends. This is huge because I can it enables me as a parent, to see the people who surround my daughter every day. It is so important to have a good "village" to support your child's educational (and social) growth, and I feel like I've found that at Trivium. We submitted every required admission document a full week before school began, including complete information about my son's previous school, and he was accepted without issue. Yet on only his second day, he was abruptly removed over a code-of-conduct matter from his previous school. He had no behavioral issues at Trivium and genuinely loved attending. Worse, his belongings were packed up in front of classmates, causing unnecessary humiliation and emotional distress. Despite repeatedly contacting Principal Chrissi Cawthon and Superintendent Sheryl Bradley and requesting documentation and investigation details, we received no meaningful explanation or accountability. This experience was unacceptable, and I would give this campus the absolute lowest rating possible.

There was recently a big big cricket invasion that no one did anything about. If you don't pay extra(for camps/classes/etc.), they can only really crowd into a single gym(and not even all the time due to basketball lessons) or do math/chinese packets. Additionally, I recall there being an issue with water splashing/wet floors in the bathrooms. Huayi simply closed the bathrooms (boys) and put cameras in as well. Hua Yi was also sold recently to Mrs. Sun. I remember her as a nice Chinese teacher, they have also changed their logo to a friendlier, more modern one. I hope this reflects potential changes in their building/school in future as well.

As someone who has spent time here, I can see both the good and the bad. On the positive side, while some of the kids might not be the easiest to get along with (to put it mildly), the teachers here deserve recognition. Special shoutout to Mrs. Xie and Mr. Jefferson--they're truly amazing! Many students complain about how "mean" the teachers are, but honestly, they don't realize how challenging it must be to work a demanding 9-to-5 job, managing a classroom full of unruly kids every single day. It's no easy task, and I think the teachers deserve a lot more credit for their dedication and effort. That said, there's room for improvement. Take the restrooms, for example--they're far from sanitary. They're crawling with cockroaches, and I'm pretty sure they don't meet the state's health standards. While there have been some small improvements, they're still a long way from acceptable. Then there are the classrooms. They're overcrowded, which makes it nearly impossible for teachers to give students the attention they need. The rooms themselves aren't much better--they don't even have windows, and the walls and desks are littered with graffiti and profanity (I won't repeat any of it because, well, let's keep things appropriate). On top of that, the furniture hasn't been replaced in 20 years. It's outdated and falling apart--it's long overdue for an upgrade, Mrs. Yi. (P.S they give us activities like basketball ping pong and a whole room dedicated to playing which keeps us sane and from not going crazy) Despite all this, the school is still standing and trying its best after all these years. But with just a bit of effort and investment, it could go from "just getting by" to a place everyone could truly take pride in.
