What's better then hiking?…read more Beautiful, well kept trails. Not too crowded but enough people on them you never feel isolated or completely alone. A lot of bikers! So please be mindful when you're walking, especially with your dog. We saw a few close calls that could have been avoiding by being aware. During summer there are a bunch of snakes so keep an eye out for that. The trails range from easier to hard, so you have plenty of options. Haven't been there since the fires but the hills still look beautiful from home.

At sunset it offers great views of Simi valley and at sunrise you can see great views of LA county. Plus you get see cool rock formations and some caves a long the way. The hike does get busy on the weekends. It is a well traveled hike. The parking lot at trailhead is small but across the highway there is a larger parking lot. Just be very careful crossing the roads to the trailhead: the crossing are very dangerous with fast traffic.

So much history here with the old tv and movies that they used to film. At one point they had a watering hole set up to film underwater scenes and you can see the remnants of where they did it. The one main loop is very shaded which is nice, especially if you want to hike on a warmer day. They have beautiful rock formations with some caves. They also have park benches and picnic tables along the way to sit and rest and take in the beautiful scenery. I found a nice shaded picnic spot and had a surprise Mother's Day picnic with the trees and stream as a beautiful backdrop. My mom really enjoyed our day here. The only downfall is what it used to be. It's sad that a fire went through here and burned a lot of the set buildings they used to have . I wish I had seen it before that all happened. Too bad they didn't rebuild it.

A nice time to visit in the summer is about 6pm on a weekday! Besides our group, we did not see a single person on the trail nor did we have to fight for a parking spot. Note there are two small parking lots both off highway before the tunnel if coming from 101. From the trail there are beautiful views of the mountains and the canyons. you can even see views of the ocean in malibu. when there is a wet winter season, you can see loads of waterfalls. my fellow hiker said she saw 18 falls. Worth visiting during the wet season. Just be careful. also note there is poisonous oak along the trail. Unfortunately in July the falls were all dry. There was some water in the creeks. As for amenities: there is a toilet at the start of the trail.

I've rented from him successfully before, and he was aware of our plans. With several days of rain in the forecast, the only dry day lined up perfectly for our ride. The night before pickup, Craig canceled the reservation, claiming he didn't want to rent the bikes because the trails would be "too muddy." Mountain bikes are literally designed to handle all conditions--that's the entire point of them. He was obviously aware of the weather forecast well in advance but waited until the last possible moment to back out, giving me zero time to find bikes elsewhere. I will never rent from Craig again and strongly advise others to avoid his service.

It's also safe and near nicely manicured lawns from newer homes, quiet neighborhoods and folks who always say hello and a smile as you cross paths on this trail. So, when you need a place to walk around, drop by this trail and enjoy a little of peace, quiet and serenity in the Simi Valley area.
