Bill: Pre-Snack Meal (poppadoms - and tray) Quite a different selection of "Pops" - £5.89 - Realy enjoyed. 3 x Kozhi Kurumulagu - £15.89 each - £47.67 Boneless chicken, cooked in a black pepper based sauce with onion, ginger, garlic and turmeric. Everyone enjoyed. 1 x Seafood Biriyani - £19.95 Rice, prawns (only 3), king fish (2 small pieces), Mussels (none) and Squid (none). Really tasty sauce with a bit of spicy kick. This had been recommended to me by a work colleague. I didn't mention the missing items at the time as I was with my grandchildren. In hindsight, I should have done. 1 x bottle Viognier - £31.75 - Good wine and well chilled, with a proper ice bucket. Bill Total - £113.51 All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice ambiance. There evening service starts at 18:00, but we arrived just before that time and they were open and other customers were already eating. I would return, but I'd mention the missing items about the seafood biriyani. Apart from that I'd order it again as I loved the flavours.

The only thing I really liked was the naan bread which was like a crumpet sort of thing and it was nice and soft warm and earthy and felt like home. I got a chicken tikka masala for my main, but it was just not spicy enough and it didn't really have the chicken tikka feeling to it A chicken tikka is meant to be a nice orange curry, but this one was bright bright bright red and the sauce was just god-awful I know I didn't get just a chicken tikka, which is basically just a red chicken because mine had sauce and the lot and I even said it was a masala I also checked the bill and it said it was a masala I will be returning, but maybe for a different dish!

Eating Indian food in Leicester is as common as eating a burger in the States…read more This was an impromptu "I'm hungry" stop, between shopping and going to the cinema. We ignored the sushi place next door that serves sushi rolls on a conveyor belt (what??) The space in here is quite nice, almost fancy looking. I felt a little underdressed, but the staff didn't seem to mind. I ordered a bellini (peach and champagne) drink. When it came, I saw that there was this massive (like 65%) concentration of peach puree at the bottom of my drink, with the champagne foating atop. When I stirred it, it tasted...gross. Too sweet. Too peachy. They were nice about it though, when I told them I couldn't drink it for those reasons, and opted for what my friend was having. A glass of zinfandel. When they returned with the glass of wine, it was a completely different color than my friend's...and thus a totally different kind of wine. I hated being THAT person that keeps sending everything back...but..it's not what I ordered! 3rd time's a charm. They came out with the right glass. The food was very tasty and the perfect portion. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with basmati rice. The chicken was tender and succulent. When the bill came, they had not included the first 2 drinks, which was very accomodating of them. I'd give this place 3.5 stars if I could. The location is convenient if you happen to be in the area shopping. I don't know if I'd go out of my way to have dinner there on a regular night (if I lived in Leicester).

I was massively impressed with this place - unusual in the sense that it's a very stylish and modern Indian restaurant. We arrived minus a couple of our friends, and stood in the cocktail/champagne bar area sipping our drinks while a pianist tinkled away on a grand piano. Once seated, we were had some popadoms with three lovely dips. Not radioactive in colour like they are in some places. And a good few beers. The main courses were some time coming, and we probably could have done with a few more popadoms in the interim; but, when they did arrive, they were fabulous. My fish (cod) bhuna was delightful, rice nice and fluffy, and naan breads tasty. Total bill was just £20 each. Plenty of food and beers. No desserts or coffees. Highly recommended.

I got the simmered chicken with yellow bean sauce. While it tasted really excellent, I'm knocking a star off because it was cubed but not de-boned. Some of the romance of date night was reduced by all the fiddly little bits of bone and other non-edible chicken bits. Still, I cannot fault the taste in the least. My boyfriend got a beef and chili dish (I think it was the crispy beef with ginger and chili). I was impressed with the nice seared texture of the thinly sliced beef (lots of places rely on the sauce a bit too much and overlook texture). It had tons of chili and I was worried it would be too much for me, but it was very good. The spiciness had a slow build and I would definitely order it again. As you can see from the photo I uploaded the menu is perfectly comprehensible for English-only speakers. The waitress was either a bit shy or had less English herself but was helpful and friendly so no complaints there. Prices were very reasonable, most dishes coming in under ten pounds.

They instantly made us welcome even though there were 8 of us including 4 children. It wasn't busy so maybe they had time to give us lots of attention or maybe they are just good at their jobs. Once we'd been seated and ordered drinks the children seemed to be having problems choosing from the menu so we were asked if they'd like to make their own pizzas - of course the answer was "yes". Whilst the grown-ups relaxed reading the menu in peace and quiet and weighing up the merits or rissotto, pizza and pasta dishes, the children were taken to wash their hands, given hats and then helped to make their pizzas. The pizzas are cooked in a huge open pizza oven at the back of the restaurant so you can see your pizza puffing up and the cheese melting. My rissotto was yummy and the other grown-ups were equally happy with their dishes but what made this meal really specially was the way all the staff in this posh looking restaurant treated our children as welcome guests.
