Mudslingers is 1/2 pottery shop & gallery, 1/2 pottery studio. The proprieter, Ron, offers pottery…read moreclasses and rents out wheels and stalls and kiln time to potters in need of a place to throw clay around. He's a laid back guy, always in clay spattered jeans and t-shirt or flannel shirt. He and one or two of his students sell their ware in the front of the shop, while the wheels and kilns are in the back. Most of Ron's pottery is functional, non-froofy earthware. Don't expect it to be super cheap; it is, after all, hand-thrown and not mass produced. It is certainly quality, and to me well worth the money. I believe that he takes special orders--need a gift for your daughter who is getting married? He very may well be able to make a set of goblets for her. Looking for a fruit bowl of a specific size? Ask him! It's possible he can throw one of the size and color you want. Mudslingers is a hidden gem behind the main street in Fredonia. Don't miss it!

I said that I am here to guide and teach. The guy, without knowing anything about me said that I also wasn't qualified to teach him) Then, he looked at my car outside and said I was parked next to a fire hydrant and it really pisses him off. (I was properly parked in a space lined for cars next to it) He continued to yell at us, and while leaving I told him that he was discriminating against a person with disabilities and that I would notify the appropriate agency about the discrimination. I felt like I stepped back in time where people had no rights!

(100 CR #13 isn't the correct address; I had to enter in a random number to get the map marker to appear. The map is correct.) All of their pottery (except for the raku) is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. They're unbelievably sturdy; we bought our mugs around 10 years ago and I've dropped them on the hardwood floor and in the sink several times without a single scratch or chip. I always swore that I was going to complete my collection some day when I had the money, but I don't think they offer our particular glaze pattern anymore. Their pottery makes a great one-of-a-kind gift or housewarming present if you can't decide what to get someone. In addition to tableware, they also have vases, vessels, sculptures, wall hangings and ornaments. If you're in the area, set aside some time to take the beautiful drive out there and pick yourself up some pottery of your own. It is a general store in every sense of that concept--they generally have a little bit of everything. Absolutely no food or beverages, not even gum or a soda case. But you'll find a bit of everything else, including ... ** Lots of fabrics, notions, and sewing supplies; bolts of fabric are cut-to-size for whatever length you need ** Cards, stationary, and a small assortment of books (mostly religious) ** Decorative glassware and knick-knacks ** General kitchen items (cookware, utensils, canning supplies) ** Grill and picnic supplies ** A few small electrics, like fans and light strings ** Small clothing section with mostly knits, sweats, and Amish hats ** Candles and candle holders ** Many natural soaps, lotions, and supplements ** Cleaning supplies and household paper products ** Garden and outdoor supplies, and some tools ** Toys and games ** Office supplies ... but definitely not limited to just that, you'll surely find more. Prices are very fair. I needed a couple basic plastic mixing bowls, and grabbed them here for $1.10 a piece. I also got some fly catcher strips for 5/$1, and a fork/whisk hybrid called a Fiskie for about three bucks. I'm eyeing a nice Chinese Checkers metal tin set, that was about $11. Next time, it will be mine! Attached to this same building is Lake Breeze Bicycle, a small bicycle shop in the basement of the general store, with its own separate entrance out back. I'll write a review for that portion of the business separately, but as a sneak-peek, it's a handy, well-priced store too. During COVID times, all other customers were masked and doing our best to stay distanced in the small store. The Amish women I've seen working at the register and fabric cutting area have been masked, too. It appreciate, even way out here in the sticks, folks still doing their part to help end this pandemic. If you find yourself in this part of Orleans county, and either want to browse for nothing in particular, or look for something in particular, chances are you may find it here at J C Miller General Store. And it will likely be a good deal!
