Our credit union put the brakes on our pre-approval process because we were stuck waiting on a snail mail letter to unlock my husband's one credit file (Thanks, Equifax breach.) Our realtor put us in touch with Chad Geyer, and we had a friendly phone call to review our overall financial situation with an hour. Chad actually remembered me from an email I'd sent him 3 years ago about house boat loans, and meeting me & hubs at a Redfin first time buyer's class a couple years back! He outlined what I needed to send him, I got our stuff uploaded to their website, and that same afternoon, Chad got us a pre-approval letter with a conditional clause about getting that credit file unlocked and checked. He'd worked with other buyers in our situation and was able to write the letter so that it read well to the sellers and their agent, but also protected his company as we waited on that file. Chad was just incredible. Our agent got the letter from him, got our offer in, and we got our house! During the process our beloved old dog passed, and Chad's compassion for my bit of brain-fog was so appreciated. Really, this has just been so smooth and easy throughout.
