The refinancing process was a little chaotic, and some departments in the bank were slow to move files despite borrower's multiple warnings of deadlines to the loan agent, so the loan did not close on time, which caused significant complications and expenses due to borrower's upcoming overseas traveling. 2. The loan agent promised a processing fee refund after loan closing, but he refused to honor it later. The borrower had to escalate the issue with his supervisor to get the fee refund. 3. Several months after loan closing, the title company told me they are still missing various signatures and notary acknowledgment pages for loan closing and they had to make an appointment with me to redo these pages. There seem to be many gaps in their refiancing operations.

From preparing the property for market through staging, showings, disclosures, negotiations, and closing, Michael and his team worked closely with us and were highly organized, responsive, and proactive. They communicated clearly, kept us informed about what was happening and what to expect next, and were always available when questions or decisions came up. For us, the experience of working with an agent is just as important as the final result. Michael and his team made what can be a stressful process feel well managed and straightforward. We strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a thoughtful, professional, and highly communicative real estate team.

He personally emailed us rental agent recommendations, specifically referring us to a leasing agent to formalize the lease and advised us to rent the unit out. At no point did anyone on this team disclose that leasing a TIC unit in San Francisco triggers rent control protections that make a tenant nearly impossible to remove without a significant buyout. We found this out the hard way, after the tenant realized their position, buyout demands climbed into six figures, and we were ultimately forced to sell our unit in early 2026 for $80,000 less than we paid for it. When we asked Aaron in writing to take some responsibility, he replied the same day claiming he, Michael, and Compass "had no involvement, and nothing to do with the leasing of your unit in any way." That statement directly contradicts his own emails from 2024, in which he personally advised us to rent out the unit and personally provided the rental agent referral that resulted in the tenant placement. We still have all of it in writing. If you're considering a TIC property in San Francisco, make sure your agent is actually disclosing the risks specific to that ownership structure, not just steering you toward whatever's most convenient for them.

Cheryl Villanueva is TRULY a gem of a Realtor. We started our home-buying journey on June and we closed on our forever home in August! We couldn't have been happier to have Cheryl with us! Cheryl is such an extremely professional, efficient, and dedicated person who truly makes her clients feel like their home-buying journey is 100% important to her. While I'm sure that Cheryl has many clients and tasks that she tackles everyday, never once did we ever feel like we needed to be "fit" into her schedule. She responds to all emails and texts in such a timely manner, and always always answers your questions thoroughly and honestly. We appreciated Cheryl's true dedication to working her hardest on our behalf, even corresponding with our mortgage lender and others involved. Her ability to understand our concerns and convey them to all parties is really her biggest asset. She was compassionate about our concerns and we never had to question her ability to aid us through this process. As emotional as this journey was for us, Cheryl was always understanding and optimistic that we would find what we were looking for. We couldn't have done this without Cheryl by our side. Lastly, for those of you who are embarking on your home-buying journey during the age of COVID-19 - You can rest assure, Cheryl goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure that her clients are healthy and safe. We met when he showed me a property he was the listing agent for--I found him easy to talk to, no pressure. He made it clear that he is willing to work with clients to ensure they get what they're looking for, no matter how long that takes, which was refreshing. As it turned out, I loved the very next property he showed me, and Mike sprang into action. He took the time to patiently and diligently educate me about the process (and the paperwork!), yet moved quickly to engage with the listing agent, assess the situation, and formulate a great strategy for the presentation of my offer in a competitive situation--and I got the property! Throughout the escrow and lending process Mike was with me every step of the way, ensuring I understood the ins and outs and that I met all of my obligations, and guiding me in my decision making. It's clear Mike takes his obligations to his clients seriously and I was always confident that he had my best interests at heart. As a SF native Mike has a lot of expertise about the City in general and San Francisco real estate in particular--which was extremely valuable. I recommend Mike enthusiastically!

Jamie is an extraordinary person and agent and it is difficult to fully express how amazing she is!…read moreMy husband and I were connected to Jamie through a colleague who had worked with Jamie to buy his first home and had a fantastic experience; when I think about how fortunate we were to be connected to Jamie through him, I tell myself I must have done something right in a prior life. Jamie is meticulous, so knowledgeable, extremely discerning, and a deeply gifted communicator. As first-time home buyers in the daunting Bay Area market, we had no idea what we were doing. Jamie was so patient, thoroughly explaining every step of the home buying process to us (even though in her shoes I would have been bored to tears, probably having explained the process a thousand times before to a thousand prior clients) and not once made us feel self-conscious for not knowing something or not having the biggest budget. This meant a lot in a market where it can feel like every other person is an all-cash multi-millionnaire. No matter your budget, Jamie will treat you with respect and take her fiduciary duties to you seriously. She will never push you into a home that isn't right for you. She will give you her straightforward assessment, and then she'll give you space to think about it and decide what makes sense for you. It is easy to trust Jamie completely because she will never take advantage of that trust; she is on your side from start to finish. Jamie is truly talented at listening to what you're saying (or trying to say) and repeating your words to you in an order that make much more sense. In other words, Jamie is able to intuit what you want and need before you even realize it yourself. It happened to us repeatedly. When we visited homes together, she knew within 30 seconds whether it was a good candidate for us or whether we should move on (and she was always right). She looks not just at the house but at the surrounding neighborhood to assess whether it's the right one for you. Her judgment skills are *perfect*. What's more, Jamie educated us about how to look beyond the nice staging and tell whether a house was well maintained or whether it would need a lot of upfront work. She taught us how to read disclosure packets and the most important issues to look for. I truly appreciated how she put effort into teaching us how to be informed home buyers; she did not have to do that and we have benefited enormously from her guidance. You will also benefit greatly from the fact that Jamie is a trained attorney. She is extremely careful and will not overlook even the tiniest detail. She will follow up on every seemingly minor thing and advocate for you even when it could go against her financial interest (e.g., negotiating a lower purchase price for you because something wasn't disclosed fully by the seller). If you find yourself in a counteroffer situation, Jamie's negotiation skills (and masterful listening skills) will guide you to the right next move. With Jamie's help, we had our 2nd offer accepted only 3 weeks after starting our search, despite an intensely competitive market. Jamie worked late into the night to put together our two offer packets, even though she knew (better than we did) that our 1st offer was very unlikely to be accepted. She is so responsive and reliable, almost beyond belief. When Jamie tells you she'll do something, she will 100% deliver. She will have your back and she will make you feel like you're her #1 priority, even though you vaguely know in the back of your mind she must have lots of other clients just like you. That is how much focused attention she will give you and your home search (and, I am sure, your home sale too). Beyond Jamie's brilliance as a real estate agent, she is also hilarious, incredibly nice, and cooler than you (OK, cooler than me). She made the home search process fun and as enjoyable as possible. We looked forward to seeing her every time, and I will really miss seeing her and hearing her funny stories! Jamie is THE BEST. We will never work with another real estate agent if we can possibly help it. Thank you Jamie!!!!!!!

She generously went the extra mile & did so much behind the scenes that I'd only find out later, when a contractor or HOA board member mentioned something. I was out of state the entire listing/closing time. Jamie handled EVERYTHING on my behalf, remembering details that should've been my responsibility & that she executed without even asking. She made everything seamless! I've bought & sold 5 properties with 10 different realtors in 4 different states, and Jamie was hands down the best! Jamie's the most uniquely balanced human, with all the focus, drive & accomplishment of a Type A temperament, yet all the chill & ease of a Type B. Sabrina is a person with incredible integrity. Even when representing me, as the seller, she pushed me hard to write out every nit and wart about the place I was selling. Does that window slide funny? Do you hear the neighbor's footsteps upstarirs? She works with a partner Charles, who is the get-it-done type of guy. It's the most perfect combination that I can imagine. Charles is a guy from brooklyn that gets things done. We got the place cleaned up amazingly before selling.
