This a place for people to practice and try out and DANGEROUS tricks. Small children who do not understand skatepark etiquette will ride back and forth, not giving the slightest concern for their surroundings which is very very dangerous for everyone else trying to have a good time. PARENTS, I understand your children look at the skatepark as this magical wonderland and you want them to have the time of their lives. But i promise you when a parent shows up with their toddlers and their scooters and their safety gear, it brings nothing but disappointment to everyone there. GEAR WILL NOT PROTECT YOUR CHILD FROM ADULTS GOING AT TOP SPEED. The next time your child wants to come to the skatepark, teach them about skatepark etiquette. The Speedway parking lot is shared with the skate park. The park is free to use and open everyday from 8 am until the sun goes down. It has the variety of ramps, bowls, ledges, and straight aways. The few times I dropped on by, which were weekend afternoons, the place was neat and tidy and occupied mainly with families. Chill vibes. But that's not to say there are never any rowdies. Oh for the folks wondering if I shredded out there, those days are way behind me. Another important thing to note is that there are no restroom facilities, just a porta toilet.

Parking is almost non existent , the skatepark itself is made of a really rough cement that hurts to fall on and whoever designed this park has almost surely never skated in their life. They share a parking lot and restroom facilities. Parking is free and so is use of each park. The Skate Park interior was clean when I dropped in a few weeks ago in a Saturday. Like most all skate parks, the rules are that all riders must wear a helmet and wear knee and elbow pads. But the park is unsupervised and I saw a lot of boarders (young and not so young) not wearing gear or partial gear. No one made a peep. Plus the city's recreation website, advertising the skate park, has a photo of a skate boarder in action without gear.

Emerald Vista Park is a medium size park located in a residential part of Galt, California. The park has an open space for multi-purpose use , a play area with a play structures for younger children as well as older children. Both play areas have slides, swings, and climbing structures. The park also has a restroom. What sets this park apart from most parks is that it offers bikers/walker an opportunity to ride/ walk along a scenic path that runs from Emerald Vista Park to another park a shot distance away "Canyon Creek Park". Great park for your morning/evening walk !
