chilaquiles
Sam S.

Great, reasonably priced food in a cute cafe! We waited about 20 minutes for a spot on a Sunday morning and it was well worth it. The menu is fully in Spanish, but the staff spoke some English and was very friendly. I enjoyed the chilaquiles and my husband loved their eggs Benedict. The fresh squeezed orange juice was also delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we visit!

Steak Hurrache

First time visiting Cha, it's definitely a cute little restaurant, very busy and noticed there is usually a small wait. Their sister restaurant is Homun, a dinner restaurant and it is amazing, this place I would say is good. We ordered jugo verde (green juice), it was very good but pretty small. Chips were brought out, and the salsas were very tasty, chips weren't crispy though. We ordered a French style pastry, and it was delicious, buttery, crispy and chewy, best part of the brunch! We ordered the falafel dish; the falafel themselves were very dense but fresh and flavorful, and the flavors of the sauces and hummus very tasty, the "pita" was way too tough and dry. The Hurrache we ordered was okay, the presentation looked far better then the actual flavor. The steak on it was really tasty, but not a lot of it, and the hurrache itself was dense and not appetizing. Service was kind and efficient, and the restaurant itself really nice, we enjoyed ourselves, and would give it another try, maybe we just didn't order the right items. There is something for everyone on the menu!

Torta Milanesa

What an amazing restaurant in Puerto Vallarta to enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch. The people are very welcoming from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly. The Torta Milanesa was fantastic. This is a restaurant that the locals visit. The prices are very reasonable. A must if you're visiting the area.

I got mole chilaquiles and they were phenomenal. Blew me away. Great spot, would love to go back next time I'm in town! :)

Cha' was simply amazing. This cute local establishment is located in the city of Puerto Vallarta. Walking distance from my resort. I found this place using google. It did not disappoint. It is small so expect to wait but they move quickly and efficiently. The menu is in Spanish. Prices are so reasonable and the food is impeccable. The presentation was done so well, I didn't want to touch my plate. Our waitress Sophia was so kind and attentive. People patiently waited for their turn to dine here so either get their early or go at a time that is not busy, which I'm not sure that's possible. The only regret I have is not finding this place sooner during my time in PV.

There are places that simply serve food--and then there are places that become part of your story…read more Pepe's Tacos is exactly that for me. Having come here since I was 10 years old, this iconic taquería isn't just a local favorite--it's a timeless institution that continues to define what truly exceptional tacos should be. Since 1987, Pepe's has built a reputation that extends far beyond Puerto Vallarta, and one visit is all it takes to understand why. The star of the show--their legendary tacos al pastor--is nothing short of extraordinary. The pork is expertly marinated and cooked to perfection, resulting in meat that is incredibly juicy, tender, and bursting with deep, savory flavor. Each slice is carved with precision and layered onto warm tortillas, creating a perfect foundation for what comes next. What truly elevates these tacos is the balance of toppings. The sweetness of the pineapple and the sharpness of the fresh onions cut through the richness of the meat beautifully, enhancing every bite with contrast and complexity. It's a masterclass in simplicity done right--every ingredient playing its role to perfection. Beyond the food, the experience itself is just as memorable. The service is impressively fast and efficient, especially considering how popular this spot is, and there's an undeniable energy in the air that makes it feel alive at all hours. It's the kind of place you can count on for a late-night bite, where the atmosphere is casual, vibrant, and always welcoming. Pepe's Tacos isn't about reinvention or trend--it's about consistency, tradition, and delivering excellence time and time again. Decades later, it still holds its place as one of the best taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, and for good reason. Some things never change--and when they're this good, they absolutely shouldn't.

Thirty five years in the game and Pepe's runs like a well oiled machine. The dining room is its own…read moreecosystem, a natural choreography of service where everything flows without friction. Out front, the trompo spins over charcoal fire, hand turned, on display to the street. The man at the blade is a performer, part craftsman, part showman. He hones his knife between razor thin shavings of al pastor, then in a reflexive flourish nips the pineapple crowning the meat, sending a sliver flying only to catch it with a tortilla. It is theater, but it is also instinct. Inside, the crowd looks like the United Nations. A tour group from India next to a Dutch family with half a dozen kids in tow, the Canadians eye the Americans with deserved suspicion, and a few locals whose plates are piled high while tourists settle for modest portions. It is the natural order of things, and nobody complains. The charcoal scent in the meat makes clear this is al pastor's intended preparation. I have never had the pleasure of eating from a coal fired trompo before, and it is instantly apparent that this is the way it was meant to be. Someday, somehow, I will rig one of these up, because I need this in my life. Pepe's is not just a taco shop. It is a master class in tradition, theater, and flavor, with a dining room that feels like the world gathered around one spit.

We came here as a party of 4 for my friend's 40th birthday around 6:30 and caught the most amazing sunset. They had a professional photographer take a complimentary photo for us. The service was impeccable, so welcoming and sweet! All of our dishes were so good. We ordered: octopus, seafood croquette, egg potato, potatoes brava, asparagus, white sangria. The octopus was so tender (maybe the best octopus dish that I've had) and the seafood croquette just melts in your mouth. There was not a dish that I did not like. For dessert we got the orange flan which was so yummy and delightful. and the chocolate lava cake. The sunset view was gorgeous! And the price was very reasonable - we got drinks, dinner and dessert, and the total came out to be $44 per person. I hope to be back!

The food is always excellent -- classic tapas done right and some of the best paella we've had in Puerto Vallarta. We came in for an early dinner around 5:30pm in January specifically to catch the sunset, and it was absolutely worth it. By the time we left, the restaurant was completely full -- that should tell you everything. The views are stunning and add so much to the overall experience. The staff is warm, attentive, and genuinely sweet. Don't skip the complimentary photo session -- it's a fun touch and they make it effortless and relaxed. This is one of those places we always return to when we're in Puerto Vallarta. Great food, beautiful views, consistent quality, and a welcoming atmosphere every single time. Highly recommend.
