We'd been here 10 years ago when they first opened here. At the time it was a very unique, authentically Japanese restaurant with an unusual menu. We were introduced to items we hadn't had ever. We decided to finally return. And we learned that 5 years ago, they got new owners. And the menu is now totally different than it was. The small restaurant is located in the back of a strip of stores on the western side of 441/SR 7. It's not the easiest to find. The menu consists of appetizers and different types of ramen. As it was a cooler than normal night, we were in the mood for soup and ramen was fine. I ordered the classic ramen. First you choose the "style", then you choose your broth base. The style determines what is in your soup and what level spice you get. I chose the soy broth. Other choices are miso, tonkatsu, or veggie miso. And I chose the regular egg noodles ramen. Other choices are kale or gluten free noodles. My classic had one piece of roast pork, a whole soft-boiled egg, one pretty colored fish cake, some bamboo shoots, and one piece of dried seaweed. Along with a lot of ramen noodles. My husband selected the Hot & Sour Ramen. It was noodle soup topped with "vegetables", but it didn't seem to have much more than some scallions and green beans. Small place that has survived ten years under different ownership. When we first dined here, ten years ago, the place was owned and operated by an Asian family, mother, father, and two daughters. They had sushi on the menu that was quite good. The menu has changed over the years with new owners. We looked over the menu featuring various appetizers and Ramen bowls. I went with the Hot and Sour Ramen with egg noodles and some vegetables. The broth was a good and Hot and Sour base with green beans, bok choy, scallions and mung beans. I stopped by to order onigiri rice balls to go. This was the worst thing I ever tasted in any restaurant. I come from LA where we have amazing rice balls eateries even at farmers markets they are amazing and everyone loves them (fish is usually almost half of the ball or a bit less and fresh). here I ordered tuna with mayo and what I got is two large chunks of rice that smelled funny and stale and inside was maybe a half a teaspoon of canned tuna with mayo - it was disgustingly brown! it tasted horrible, no seasoning, no furikake, nothing, I literally gagged and threw it all away. what a waste of time and money! I can't believe any business would sell something that vile. At least add real fresh tuna with spicy mayo if you even have that on the menu... so upsetting read more

This place is absolutely incredible. Anything you get here will be incredible you truly cannot go wrong. The server, Liam is awesome. He truly has the best energy and is so attentive. I've been coming here for years and this place fills me with such joy. This is a family owned business and you can feel that as soon as you walk in. The ramen is amazing but if you're not in the mood for ramen there are so many other options. I got the katsu curry and my boyfriend got the cha cha ramen. We both left very full and very very happy. This is one of the local businesses that everyone needs to support so we can continue to have such awesome local food. Cha-Cha was my OG ramen spot, years ago. Loved the Japanese ownership and menu. Fast forward 8-9 years and while in the area, I decided to stop by. It's definitely changed for me. Gone are all the specials written on the wall and you're down to a fixed menu which is still very good. The izakaya feel is gone. The cod roe onigiri is still on point, but had too much table salt on it for my liking. For my lunch, I ordered cha shu ramen. The ramen base (miso), in my opinion, was off. There was a discernible hint of spice added. I don't mind spicy food, but I feel miso shouldn't have it. The cha shu was cold and dry and the onsen egg was overcooked and cold, as well. Don't know the deal there. Despite all that, the noodles are still decent. There is one, sweet waitress working all the tables and she is very efficient and pleasant. Ramen, udon, soba, and rice bowls are the standouts from also ran Ramen Noodle Lab and ramen only Ramen 369. You pick from soy, miso or tonkatsu, veggie or veggie miso bases, for the ramen. They will also add heat, at your request, and an extra charge. They do killer soba It's a small place, like the real deal. It fills up fast. Service is very good but the kitchen gets a lot of takeout as well as table orders. The kitchen gets backed up, especially prime time on weekends. Patience is a virtue. Ambiance is intimate and simple. Fans of good Ramen joints will recognize the little special signs, taped, the walls and the little bits and pieces of things you can take home with you that are Japanese snacks. I hate to leave an Asian restaurant with less than 4 stars but Cha-Cha was a bit disappointing to my family. The restaurant is located in a plaza off of 441 and they restaurant was small but seated all 6 of us. Walking in, it was freezing. We asked if the air could be turned warmer and they told us no. You can hear everything that goes on and you're only a few feet away from the kitchen. Therefore when you walk out, you'll definitely smell like it too. Everything was overpriced. More than their competitors. Even the small items they were selling by the cashier stand was marked up more than the normal. They have specials on the wall and it seems like an average meal is $15. We ordered the gyoza, chicken karage, pork katsu with curry, and some ramen bowls. My favorite out of all has to be the pork katsu with curry. It was really flavorful and tasty. Definitely made right and Japanese style. Gyoza was also a hit with our table. A bit oily but still yummy. The ramen bowls were the disappointing part. We ordered spicy miso ramen and a seafood one. The spicy miso was okay. Not great. The seafood noodle soup my mom ordered, they placed the fried shrimp in the broth so they were soggy. When paying, we used a credit card and they charged us additional (4%?) of the entire bill just for using a card. read more

This was just "alright" for me. It was not bad but not great. It is a small, intimate restaurant in a plaza with more than adequate parking and ease of ingress and egress. The interior is nice and has a home type feel (not a bad thing). The service was excellent and the food delivered expeditiously. We tried the plum and mayo tuna onigiris which were nice. I was initially unsure of my what to make of the plum onigiri but it grew on me and ended up being quite delicious. Both ramen bowls ordered were just a touch above lukewarm. I've had many different ramen and this is by far the blandest I've ever had coming from an authentic restaurant. Maybe I decided to go on a bad day but it was around lunch in a weekday. It was very empty inside not much ambiance besides the cute anime that was on the tv and the server was nice. I tried the Onigiri didn't realize I had options to choose from till after seeing it advertised on the wall. Small establishment with zero ambiance and extra chairs stacked up in a corner. Had a loud, annoying anime cartoon in the background. Seemed a bit overpriced but we wanted to give it a shot. Ordered basic items (katsu curry bowl and bento box) and it took forever!!! Mine came out first and the katsu was over fried and had a quite few fatty bites that I spit into a napkin. Bento box was average...nothing really good or bad to comment on. Totally smelled like food when we left. We love Japanese food and really wanted to love this place. The menu has different options of ramen broths and it is mostly a build your own kind of a thing. You pick your broth and add your toppings of choice. I had the Tonkatsu Cha-Cha men which is your pork broth and roast pork with spicy oil. Added boiled egg and bamboo shoots and nori. Egg has over cooked and the broth needs developing. It was very soupy. Also a big disappointment was that the actual broth was not up to temperature.... more on the warm side. We came in on a weekday afternoon and the place was quiet and service was prompt. The food was surprisingly delicious! A little salty but overall pleasing. Loved the green tea as well and it was a large portion. It's a little pricey for what it is, a whole in the wall. But at least the food was good, I would come back for lunch. Outstanding and authentic Japanese ramen. This was my fourth visit and the ramen was just as good. They have excellent shoyu and tonkatsu broth for their ramen and vegan options as well. I was drawn to it because it's the only restaurant within 50 miles that serves Japanese rice balls called onigiri and they are freshly made; my favorite being mentaiko (trust me on this, worth a try). I tried the hot and sour broth and it was appropriately spicy! I met the owner for the first time. Born and raised 30 minutes out of Tokyo, she bought this shop from the Japanese couple that owned it before her. Lots of choices, a true ramen shop like in Japan. A few things; I didn't want pork in my ramen, so I asked to sub for chicken but was still going to be charged. Ok, fine. When our food came out, my chicken looked like it had been boiled, no flavor, broth was cold, and the eggs were just boiled, there was no marinating of them, nothing. There was no authenticity to the dish. The person I came with, they completely didn't even put his protein in his ramen. I'm not a person to return food or not eat it, but it was just not good. When our waiter was informed he didn't even want to tell the kitchen. He said, "I need to make sure I hide this from them" Don't you want to tell your chefs that the food they're preparing is bad so they can be better?? All in all, a complete bust. read more

Have been hearing about Cha-Cha for some time now and finally had a chance to give them a try. Unfortunately it wasn't quite what I had expected from this small Japanese café. Upon walking in we were greeted by the friendly servers and were seated at one of the eight tables (all 2 tops) inside. The tables and ambiance were more of a cafeteria feel then a café. The place was full but dead quiet to the point that you could hear a pin drop. There was no music playing and no one was really speaking, I realized why soon after. Even if you are at a whispering level everyone in the room is able to hear your conversation making dining really uncomfortable. We ordered goyoza and croquettes to start. The croquettes were tasty and had some katsu sauce on them, I would order these again. For the main I went with classic ramen since it was my first time there as well as katsu-don, which is pork cutlets, egg, and onions over sticky rice. The classic ramen was very bland tasting and came with an overcooked egg. The katsu-don was a lot of rice and needed a little something, I asked for fish oil/sauce but they didn't have any so I left it as is. The meal wasn't bad it was just on the bland side to me but perhaps I didn't order the right things. Service was great but I didn't enjoy the awkwardness of not being able to talk inside the place, I wonder if it's always like that? Maybe I'll try again and order differently. read more

Food is amazing and so fresh! The MENTAIKO ONIGIRI rice ball had the most amazing flavorful cod roe inside with just the right amount of spice. The SHRIMP SHUMAI were so fresh and cooked perfectly!! The texture and flavor were to die for! As for the SEAFOOD RAMEN, some of the best ramen I've ever had!!! So fresh and flavorful. Included muscles, shrimp, and lots of delicious veggies! Vegetarian options are available. TAKOYAKI or octopus balls are always so good! Flavor is so unique and the octopus inside is always fresh. My absolute favorite snack from Cha Cha's. NITAMAGO are also some of my favorites. A perfectly boiled egg marinated in soy ginger to perfectly satisfy all your salty snack cravings. One order comes with two eggs oLastly the jellyfish is an amazing treat. Texture is very similar to seaweed salad with a rich sesame soy sauce marinade. Highly recommend!! Very disappointing I tried order udon but was told they were out. I order tempura veggies and shrimp with regular egg noodles. The soup was Luke warm and no shrimp. The waiter was busy and I could not get his attention. I went to check the menu to make sure I should have had a shrimp. They charged me the full amount of the meal when I told him again there was no shrimp he then dropped the price of the meal. Food was so so, service was mediocre. We are so glad we found a good ramen spot near Wellington! Cha-Cha is open for business and is doing an excellent job with social distancing procedures. The wait staff did a great cleansing the tables and chairs between guests. They have a great selection of Japanese appetizers and noodle dishes. I usually pick a Japanese spot if they have takoyaki - a telltale sign of authenticity. We ordered a rice ball, fried gyoza, takoyaki, and a side of their crispy pork belly. All were delicious, especially the pork belly. We also ordered a tonkotsu ramen and a curry udon. With the tonkotsu I ordered an egg, bamboo shoots and fish cake. The ramen was very good but the broth could have used a bit more flavor. I also wished the egg was seasoned but overall very good ramen. I'm excited to try their Shoyu! The curry udon was on point and nicely captured the Japanese curry flavor. Overall a great experience and a rarity to find such a good ramen shop in south Florida! read more
