I found her at a shop in the Square, and I've been going to her ever since. And now, lucky for you, she has her own business. She does such a great job, I always like the end result. I tell her what I'm going for and let her do her thing. I have thick, wavy hair and have gone through several iterations of short cuts to medium and currently longer lengths. And she just has the skill to shape the hair with elegance and sophistication. She's a joy to converse with and a very warm and understanding person. Give her a shot. It sheds like beauty supply hair (I haven't purchased beauty supply hair in over 15 years). There was another woman who left a review below that said it's bad quality and I should have listened. This is one of my worst experiences. Not even a month in and it's lost most of its density and length. From day 1 it was yellow and was shedding. I emailed them and they said that can happen....a month and a half in it's destroyed. Nothing has been done to this hair. Please listen to me and do not purchase this- it won't last more than a month (atleast the bundles) and it is not a good investment.

Because when you live in Atlanta a sew-in is required...right?…read more This review is the services I got from Tianna. I wish 3 1/2 stars was an option. I wanted to get my first sew-in and did hours of research and came across Studio Techilo. Aida (the owner) does beautiful work but she's no longer accepting new clients. There are two other stylist in the salon Danni and Tianna, Danni was book until next month so I went with Tianna. I ordered the exotic curly bundles directly from the site and they were delivered very quickly! Tianna did an great job on the actual sew-in. She moved quickly and it was really flat and natural looking. But my two issues were... 1. How ruff she was detangling my real hair and the bundles. It felt like she doesn't work with natural hair often. 2. She didn't do a good job styling the bundles or my hair. I watched several videos of the owner styling the same type of bundles I had, but my hair didn't look anything how the owner styled them. I was very disappointed at how my hair looked when I left the salon. I had to go home and restyle my hair. Again the actual sew-in was great! And I believe she'll bo better styling straight hair rather than curly.

Lee is also a master colorist in addition to her many other talents. Maintaining Healthy natural hair is a priority for Lee. Jakki instructed me on my hair type and the do's and don't for my hair type. I did not believe my hair could be straightened without putting in chemicals but he did it! I also love his new product OMO ROCCO. My hair loved it! Thanks Jakki Dee and Jamila for taking great care of me and my hair! I will be back every week!

The salon is located less than a mile from the busy intersection of Rockbridge and Lawrenceville Hwy - they were easy to find (right next door to Dollar General). You know I like pros / cons lists - so I'll do that here: Pros Lisa is funny, sweet, talented and knowledgeable about hair. She's also FAST. Took her 2 hours exactly - and she used a method I'd never experienced prior but the final product was the same if not better. And she's patient and doesn't get all "attitudey" like some stylists. Lol. She didn't even really give me the side-eye I usually get from stylists when I got a little high maintenance on her. To note: 1) I was late for the appointment, 2) I balked at using the #1B hair she'd purchased - because I really wanted the #1 color we'd discussed prior and 3) I told her that I was going to wait in the car because the combination of heat and aerosol being used on the client next to me was giving me the runny-eye (yes - I'm a delicate flower). In addition, all staff and clientele were friendly - everyone said hello when I walked in - making me feel welcome and totally at ease (which we know is not always the case at salons). I was told about all promotions (including some great ones for back-to-school and massages.) Cons This probably shouldn't even be a con - because if I were in her shoes - I would probably do the same thing - but this goes back to the hair thing. She told me she was going to purchase hair in advance, but when I arrived (45 minutes late) she still hadn't purchased the hair and left me waiting at salon to go purchase it - THEN because they were out of stock - came back with a different color. But - I'm thinking because I was a new client - she probably had no idea whether I'd actually show up or flake out on her - so that might have been the reason she didn't go ahead and purchase hair in advance. The salon is cute - but she did mention they were going to be making changes with the interior. And adding Wi-Fi, television, etc. And she told me about the upcoming Grand Opening - which sounded like a lot of fun. Oh and they really are full service - they even offer massages. To quote Arnold S - I'll be back.

Being new to the Atlanta area I am currently looking for a stylist so I was completely open to anything. Let me first start off by saying this is a "hidden treasure" on North Side Drive, when I say "hidden" I mean there are no street signs for this place. In the back of a sign shop lies 2nd Level Hair Studio, a stylish yet modest salon; almost like a speak-easy. I had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Tyesha. I received a fabulous blow-out & trim. Never the less after looking at her Instagram (@tyethestylist) you can she's an extremely talented beautician looking to build her clientele; so let her know I sent you. Plus: Accept walk-ins.

I (personally) think if a client is running behind, they need to reschedule. It's just not fair to the clients who are on time to have to sit and wait for hours. Last time I went in for a wash & retwist right before the new year - I sat for 3-4 hours. I peeked in to let her know I was there & that was that. She didn't step out to give me a heads up about the wait or an option to reschedule and never apologized for the inconvenience. Another stylist, Fun, had mercy on me and washed my hair while I waited even longer soon after. On top of that, I wasn't always a fan of the styles. It's common to be asked what style you want in the Loc world, but I wish it was like the old salon days where styles were already available & your stylist recommended one that fit your face/hair type. All in all, I really wanted to like this salon. Especially because she was literally around when I transitioned to a TWA over a decade ago. However, the lack of customer service/professionalism & so-so styles wasn't worth it to me.
