I love Pizzaland!…read more Family owned and operated in their 39th year of cheese, sauce and dough. The pizza are very Australian with thick fluffy bases smothered with a slew of ingredients. They offer free garlic, chilli, jalapeños, ginger, BBQ sauce, sweet chill sauce, hot chilli sauce or pizza herbs on any pizza - I love this. Extra chilli and garlic for the win guys! My to-be brother in-law is allergic to dairy & eggs, Pizzaland make him a cheese free pizza without any of the fuss you'd get at other places. Even without cheese the pizza is still tops. My no.1 orders are 'Pizza Orgy' (I guess that's what happens inside your mouth with every bite) and American Deluxe, though I am dying to try The Continental - or to be more honest haven't found anyone to give it a go with me yet - which sports some ye old timey pizza toppers (I'm talking mashed potato and bread n butter cucumbers old timey!). Phone ahead as the pizza's are made to order with a normal wait of 20-25mins. Gluten friendly pizzas also available. Rad!

They are lovely and efficient and make pizza so good you'll think about it for days after. This place is a real gem, with a diverse but not over whelming menu, old favourites done right and some new ideas like the Continental, bacon, smoked cabana, mashed potato and bread and butter cucumbers, I know right! But it totally works. Try it out. Get a half and half, go on, it's very good. Once the Pizzaland creations l hit my mouth, all memories of insipid, overpriced faux Tandoori 'pizzas' on cardboard from 'gourmet pizza' places were erased from my mind. I will never buy a pizza from a major chain again. I am only interested in pizza from pizza land. Pizzaland is flight of the concords, and I'm Mel. Pizzaland is affordable, tasty, and with very quick take away ordering, this place ticks all the boxes. I love Pizzaland! Get a takeaway pizza and go eat it on roller-skates to impress a boy you like.

A Salt & Battery - Outside on a rainy evening.

The thought of fish and chips often conjure images of TGIF/Applebees/etc or frozen entrees for me…read more A Salt & Battery showed me what real fish and chips suppose to be like. Wishing for the whole deal, I opted for the fried food platter which consisted of fried fish, fried calamari rings, fried scallop, fried shrimp, and french fries. First of all, this isn't beer battered, it was breaded. Secondly, this is a lot of food for one person... The chips were pretty standard fare, crispy and lightly seasoned. Fish was fresh, doesn't have the frozen taste that I'm all too (unfortunately) accustomed to. The calamari rings came with 2 variety, one was the standard breading and the other had an unique seasoning to it that I couldn't place. Anyway all this fried food was completely offset the truly authentic greek salad of cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, olives, feta cheese all topped with olive oil. Order and pay at the counter, take the number, sit down, wait 15 minutes for food. The staff were friendly and helpful, but were quite busy with busing the tables, taking orders, and bringing the food out. They only have outdoor seating. On nights with a slight breeze like the night I came, it was a great experience. However I can't imagine coming here during the summers when it regularly hits the low 30C. I just need that AC.

Affectionately known as Salt 'n' Bat, this Fish and Chip shop is frequented by ravenous uni students and St Lucia locals. It is a BYO venue which means you will often find a table of 20 or so college kids escaping bad dining hall food while charging up for a night out at the RE. While Salt 'n' Bat is clearly a uni kid hang out, its tasty menu (especially the awesome battered chips and Salt and Pepper Squid) attracts a more diverse crowd. Anyone aching for some good fish and chips will find this restaurant to their liking. They also have an impressive range of Boylan vintage sodas, my favourite of which is the traditional tasting root beer. Salt 'n' Bat is dine in or take away. If you are dining in, however, don't expect anything fancy as you will be seated in red or blue plastic chairs with a white plastic table. Nonetheless, the good food (and hopefully good company you keep) is enough to make Salt 'n' Bat a fine place to eat.
