He didn't care whatsoever and just repeated that he didn't want to do it. The frustrating part is that it was obvious the tank COULD have been filled, this wasn't about inability, it was about unwillingness. No compassion, no attempt to help, no effort to make a sale or take care of a customer. Just complete indifference. A business with 1.7 stars on Yelp clearly has a reputation for a reason, and after this experience I understand why. Customer service goes a long way, and this place has none. Instead of helping someone out for a few minutes, they lost a customer permanently. I'll definitely be warning friends and family to avoid this place. Definitely DON'T buy propane here. And honestly, with gas stations on the other two corners of the intersection, take your business anywhere else. Whether it's for gas, diesel, a drink in the convenience store, or even a snack, I'd recommend supporting one of the other stations because I'm sure they would appreciate you as a customer far more than this place does.
