He explained the problem was with my motor and that it would be more advantageous to replace the LiftMaster than purchase a new motor given my opener was nearly 20 years old. He explained the options available to me and I based my choice on his recommendation. He said I would be surprised at how quiet the new door would be and he was right! While completing the replacement, he noticed the wheels on the door were in need of replacement also. He also found that I did not have hinges on the middle part of the door, and he recommended adding those to strengthen the door as well as provide less stress on the mechanism itself.
