It's an enormous gamble to buy a car sight-unseen across the country. After having poor customer service first-impressions from the big national franchises of vehicle inspectors I called George at Mobile Used Car Inspections. Long story short: I didn't need to think twice about flying up to Dayton to buy my next car thanks to George's superb inspection report and candid, honest expert review he gave me over the phone. The quality of his work gave me complete confidence to make the purchase. I could have spent the entire day making car talk with him and really enjoyed hearing his knowledge and experiences in the trade. He was able to place my vehicle into context with similar cars and then tell me exactly why the one I wanted to purchase was worth it. He also was forthright about the imperfections he found and sent high-res photos in addition to the detailed inspection report. Mobile Used Car Inspections is the small business you should hire when looking to buy your next car in Dayton. My experience makes me wish I was buying another one up there just to work with George again!

Having an experienced automotive service professional gave us peace of mind the car we selected would fit our needs. His comprehensive report enabled us to purchase the car for less based on the findings discovered during the test-drive process. George has an incredible reputation in the Miami Valley area when it comes to automotive knowledge and expertise. We keep our vehicles for a long time so it helps to know what to expect in the short term and long term when purchasing a used car. In a competitive auto buying market with higher than normal prices, Mobile Used Car Inspections helped us navigate the process with ease. Outstanding customer service - - - highly recommend!

I'll preface first by saying this is my first ever Yelp review. I'm normally the type to genuinely…read morenot care enough to "slander" a business because I'm hurt I didn't get my way. So just know I'm not "one of those" customers. I'm a girl in her 20s, and I used to only trust Monro with my service. I felt great knowing there was a woman working there, it made me feel like I wasn't being ripped off or taken advantage of for being young and ignorant. But I never really spoke to her, I'd only speak to this man who may have been manager/owner or just the primary desk person. He always seemed a bit condescending to me, but I chalked this up to being tired of angry customers mad they have to pay to maintain their car. I really did think I was getting the best service, and I would convince myself my instincts were wrong and maybe I was insecure because I was in a place with experts on something I didn't know much about. It has been 2 years now since I got a new battery from Monro. I had this battery replaced for a pretty penny, and now 2 years later it needed to be replaced again. The technician told me they used a cheap, low quality battery. They fixed it for about 3/4 the price Monro did without me even mentioning what Monro charged. Also, this is funny to admit but I was told during the battery replacement at Monro that my windshield washer pump was going to cost around 300-400 for service and parts. I declined doing this because I only could pay for the battery at the time. 2 years goes by, I finally decide I want my wiper fluid again. This shop charges $200 for install and parts. All the while telling me what codes were read and what they meant. The FARTHEST from condescending. I feel that Monro was taking advantage of the fact I had little knowledge of how to take care of my car and would purposefully ignore issues so they could charge me their base service rate to come back again and add it onto the bill. I don't know if this is a management issue or the mechanics I dealt with specifically, but either way. I'm hoping to save someone the trouble of being over-charged and under-serviced.

Mr Godwrench - Marthan Ellison. Bookkeeper & Customer Service .

Mr. Godwrench After…read moretalking with some neighbors that highly recommended Mr. Godwrench, I scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance on my car. I also looked on the internet for reviews (as I always do for just about anything these days) and was amazed at how many 5-Star ratings this shop received. Once I "arrived" according to my GPS system, I found it initially difficult to find where the shop was actually located. I quickly figured out the shop entrance is on the left side of the building (a different business has their entrance at the front of the building). I parked my car and strolled into the shop and was immediately welcomed by the owner, Tim Ellison. A very friendly guy that was able to get my car in the shop a few minutes earlier than scheduled. I liked the waiting room, which has free beverages, coffee, and some packaged snacks. They also have a free internet connection, a flat screen Roku tv, and magazines/books to read while you wait. I also liked how the waiting room has a big window where you can see your car while it's being worked on. By the time I got myself a coffee and surfing the web, they were already finished with my car - Very fast service. Throughout the interaction with the owner, Tim, and the friendly mechanics, I felt that this is a business that takes care of their customers by treating them with respect and not over-charging or trying to sell customers services and/or parts that are unnecessary. Overall, I highly recommend this neighborhood auto repair shop if you're looking for quality service at an affordable price.

Rude,Harsh and Condescending!!…read more I am sharing my experience from earlier, so people are aware of the poor experience. The same review was provided another review forum. Got my 2008 Corolla for service and told Kory(one of mechanics) the issue with car which was related to wobbling, maintenance required light being on and asked for general maintenance, fluid top off and told him *UPFRONT* to provide me the estimates before making performing anything. Kory did not even provide a ball park quote or anything, he calls me within an hour later and quotes me around 1500$(for brakes, tires and oxygen sensor) and when I asked to do only general service and fluid top off, he proceeds say that they have to charge $250 for "diagnosis fee" and he also said they would take off the fee if I replaced all the parts and he also said that they charge the 250$ diagnosis, so I don't take my business elsewhere or do repairs on my own by looking at "youtube ". And, he started to falsely say that I got car brakes done else where fairly recently and that the previous person did a bad job and the brakes rotor, calliper etc needs to be changed. The last time I ever serviced the car was Oct 2022 and had dropped off at Godwrench's shop, I was charged for 55$ for brake clean/adjust and was told everything was good. This *$250 diagnosis fee* was totally unexpected and was a STICKER SHOCK to me. I tried to stay calm and tried to speak to him . He started to speak in a rude, condescending way, quoting a scenario if I walk into McDonalds or Walmart and tried to buy something will that be a sticker shock to me and What would I do? First of all, all these business have a menu card, rate sheet and don't offer service without getting the customer consent. Secondly, no one charges a 250$ diagnosis fee for 15 year old Toyota to check the brakes and check why the maintenance light was ON. And stating that 250 diagnosis will be removed if I paid ~$700 to get the brakes replaced,600$ for wheels and 300$ for oxygen converter does not seem right, if not shady. He later agreed to reduced the Diagnostics fee and charged me ~$50 after a lot of back and forth. He also rudely responded that he would have to charge me for speaking to him over the phone as it is consuming his time, This was the last straw for me. I went, made payment and collected my vehicle. NEVER WILL I STEP FOOT INTO THIS PLACE. They are UN-ETHICAL,RUDE AND NOT TRANSPARENT. I am starting to question all the positive reviews or was this poor attitude targeted only towards me
