I had a transmission replaced in a ford explorer in 2020 with a certified. It made it a little over 3 years and 36,000 miles before it went out. They played nice to me when I called but the dealer I took it to called certified and they offered nothing to help. If they can't make a transmission last longer than 36,000 then they aren't very "certified". So here I am needed a new transmission and needless to say I'm not getting another certified and I will be ordering one from Ford. I hope this review makes it back to the owner and he can realize what a POS business he is in charge of. read more

We brought our Explorer here on a recommendation from my father who had a business relationship in the past with Peter Fink, the owner of Certified Transmission. We actually brought our vehicle here to have the rear wheel bearings replaced. We had gotten a quote from the dealer for $1400 for both rear wheel bearings (including an employee discount!) and Certified estimated they could do it for around $900. I stressed a specific timeline due to my wife and I's complex work schedule. The staff was very professional and provided me with regular updates. They weren't sure if they could meet our timeline for repairs due to the wheel bearings on this vehicle being pretty bad, but they worked through it and came through at the price quoted. They don't do just transmissions here, and we are so happy to have a nice quiet riding car again. I called several other respectable shops in town on the advice of my father and Certified had the best service and best price. Definitely going to return if we ever need to. read more

I brought my car to Certified Transmission because it is where the previous owner got a new or rebuilt transmission. It was leaking fluid and I instantly thought the worst. I brought my car in the morning, almost as soon as they opened. I was on edge the whole day. They did call with an update, I was kind of left confused, not 100% sure what actually needed to be done. I did however, receive clarification. I was still left in the dark on the cost of the repairs being done. Most places will let you know the estimated cost of repairs. I tried to ask multiple times and never got an answer. This scared me even more, knowing how much transmission repairs could cost. By the end of it, the costs weren't terrible but I wish I was given an estimate when I asked so then I could enjoy my day instead of being on edge. read more

I own a 2002 Chevy 1/2 ton 4X4 truck, with the Z71 off road suspension. Needless to say it's a pretty heavy duty setup, and you would think fairly bullet proof. I noticed a hesitant slip at a light one Sunday. On the following Monday, after dropping my daughter of at school, a funny noise started followed by extreme slipping and shifting issues. So I babied my truck over to Quick Lane where she died in her tracks. After being informed that Quick Lane does not do any heavy engine work or transmission repair, they highly recommended I go to Certified Transmission on Q Street. Let's face it a major repair is quite disheartening, but the moment I arrived everyone was so nice and friendly. Everything about the possible issues, diagnosis process, and up front repair cost price range was discussed in a very clear and concise manner.I was even given a ride home by the manager Travis which was a 10 mile trip for him! As I expected my transmission had a total melt down and gave up the ghost. But, three days later I had a completely rebuilt transmission installed, running perfectly, and at a very decent price. All that and a 3 year warranty. For very little more I could have had a 5 year warranty but didn't feel I will own this vehicle more than the 3 more years. Did I mention the warranty is transferable upon sale of the vehicle? Talk about comfort in knowing everything is back to normal and protected by that warranty. I went in to Certified Transmission for my free recheck yesterday, and everything is going as it should be. Took our car here on the advice of Carmax (where we purchased it) to get a diagnosis/repair for our GMC Acadia that we had purchased 6 months before. Turns out there was a TSB (or recall, can't remember) on the particular issue we were having so they recommended we take it to a Chevy Dealer (Huber is where we went) to have it fixed. Rick and Nicole could not have been friendlier or more helpful - Rick is an excellent diagnostician. It's a ways from our house but worth the drive for that kind of service. Do not recommend. After paying the 70$ diagnostic fee Kirk was still unable to figure out the problem. It was very convenient to let us know that we need our tie rod fixed before he could finish diagnosing our transmission issue. Conveniently the the shop next door Anderson auto replaced the tie rod ( at 239$ ) Now Certified Transmission wants another $300 to drop the pan. Still not being able to tell us the issue. read more

Took my car here last week and the service I received is something I could brag about for months and months, most especially Trinity at the front desk. Due to the College World Series being in town, finding a temporary replacement car while mine was being worked on proved to be a challenge, but she managed it. She called every place and found a car for me within a day (no easy feat right now, trust me). She was consistently friendly, honest, and just a joy to talk to. not good at all over priced they do not know what they are doing a remanufactured transmission there might last 10,000 miles if lucky

My wife's car would not go into any gear. We both thought it was the transmission. We didn't know where to take it, so we googled "transmission repair". Certified Transmission and Amoco appeared, so we tried "Certified". My wife and I thought, this was going to be a very costly repair. Potentially a new car could be warranted. Nevertheless, we called Certified, and Kirk answered. He was very pleasant to talk with and very detailed about the problem. Most auto repairs shops just tell you, "Just drop the vehicle off when you have time or when you can and someone will call with a cost. Kirk from Certified, had a voice that was sincere and I just felt he really wanted to help. He asked me to describe what the car was doing when we tried moving the lever. Overall, he said he would do his best to figure out what was going on and a reasonable cost for the repair, for the age of our vehicle. He speculated it could be as simple as an axle or the transmission, the ladder being more expensive. Of course this was late in day 5:45 PM after my wife just finished grocery shopping. After I got to my wife, we were both stressed, because we didn't want to have the car towed home. But Kirk's resolve, was very helpful. He told me to have the tow truck drop it off and leave the key in the drop-box and he would call me the next day. Anyway, it turn out they were able to replace several parts and stop some minor axle leak, all for under a 1000.00. NOT BAD FOR TRANNY REPAIR. GOOD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. But most of all, he was very polite, professional and courteous. He took the time when he called to explain the complexity of the malfunction in the transmission and what the cost would be for the repair. Hopefully, I will never have transmission problems again, but if I do it will be Certified transmission (132 and Q street) in the future and I will definitely recommend their service to friends and family. I am a full time working single mother of two young kids. I can't express how much we need our vehicle it's something we can't do without. This week on my way home I thought my transmission was going out, so I called a few places here in town. My last call was to Certified Transmission and the phone was answered by Trinity. I express my concerns and asked for a worst case scenario if my transmission was out what would a ball park figure be on replacing it. She gave me one that was just a little less than my usual mechanic, but she gave me multiple options for my Avalanche and said the turn around time could be as soon as Thursday evening and Friday at the latest. So Tuesday after work my boys and I jump in the truck and start off to Certified transmission. Low and behold we only made it a few blocks and the truck wouldn't move. I called CT to find out who they could recommend and was give a phone number by Kirk. I called the tow service and he was there in less thank 30 minutes and took my truck over to CT. Kirk called me the next day and gave me the update and I asked him to please proceed. I was given another update Thursday morning and was told they were just about ready to put in the transmission. Late Thursday afternoon I received a call from Trinity that my truck was ready and I could pick it up all the stats were brought up to 2016 requirements and it was ready to roll. The best advice I can tell you if you are looking for a transmission repair then you should come to Certified Transmission where they treat you with respect and are very professional. The best part is they treat your vehicle as if it were theirs and they go above and beyond to make sure you know what's going with your vehicle. read more

If you are looking for a transmission shop, I can not more strongly recommend against Certified Transmission. Although the local shop has high quality people the product is not worth your money. I had a transmission replaced with a certified transmission, this transmission failed at 30K miles and 2 years. After 4 weeks of extensive testing to determine the transmission was at fault not the other systems with the car Certified replaced the transmission under warranty. 1 year and 10k miles the replacement transmission has failed. Certified Transmissions response is the 3 year 100K warranty applies only to the original purchase, so regardless that a different serial number transmission was installed under warranty they will not repair or replace. A transmission that only lasts 1 years and 10k miles is beyond unacceptable. The companies unwillingness to make it right after two failed transmissions a clear statement of their business ethic. I would advise anyone to look elsewhere for your services. Plain and simple they are not willing to stand behind their product. read more
