Hired CertaPro to add a polyurea coating to my garage floor. I felt like they were rushing to complete the job before the season turned cold. I'd ask how long they'd be at my home and each time I was told ~3 hours, but they were at my home for more like 1 hour. Because of the rush, it felt sloppy. The repair work on the cement was uneven, not allowing the garage door to be flush with the garage floor, dust from the cement work was evident, the chips were not cleaned up well, and edges weren't straight. I was told it didn't look so bad and I should've expected the chips to fall on the edge of the walls, which is really an unacceptable response (why would I expect uneven edges?). With that said, they did return and provide a new rubber edge to the garage door, so it is now flush with the floor, they painted one wall and the edges, and they cleaned up the extraneous chips lying around. The junior supervisor was great, the workers were always on time, and the floor really is very nice. I am disappointed that the owner who originally sold me the job, never responded to the group text or reached out. Ironic because I spoke with him about an even bigger job. I guess he knew I probably wouldn't hire them again. Shame, I have a friend who loves CertaPro. read more

My dog walker took my doggie into the woods and my dog's tags fell off . I didn't think we would find them so i ordered new ones and out of the blue I got a text from the owner of this company Frank that they found them ! He graciously said he would send them to me and sent me note the next day with the mail receipt . Oh goodness, I hate to be the one to write a poor review. Sadly that is where I am. I had the misfortune to have Certa send me a proposal after evaluating my painting needs in Westchester. We decided to expand the job and add the entire exterior - replacing wood and making minor repairs if needed to our 100 year old Tudor that was impeccably restored inside. Then the GHOSTING and NON-Responsiveness began. I had already informed the other companies I was going with Certa and they moved on. So, 3 months later I still have not heard back (9 emails, 6 calls and a dozen texts). When I finally got a reply from Scott (Manager) he said he would look into it but again... no follow-up. That was 5 days ago. I regret listening to 1010WIns and hearing their advertisement. Thumbs down - way down. read more

The Bedford Hills crew at CertaPro helped us get our home ready for sale by painting, but also fixing some of the odds-and-ends like doors, windows, etc. around the home. Mitch and his team were kind, thoughtful (I was 6 months pregnant, it was SUPER icy and snowy, and they made sure our walkway was always ice-free and snow-free...talk about going above and beyond!) and efficient. I would never hire this company again. I had a few projects lined up but the very first project they did was a disaster. I had them paint the house, The project was supposed to take 5-6 days depending on the weather. (understandable) They took almost 2 months!. The subcontractor they hired brought his wife and kids to the site. I asked the Manager about it and he told me she was a professional painter. Didn't seem like it. When they attempted to install the shutters back, they left Screws all over the parking lot (caused a flat tire obviously) Shutters were poorly installed with Screws not even drilled completely, the primer they used to paint the house is of very low quality, even the subcontractor told me so, saying that the good one was $70 a Gallon so they went with the cheaper version. They promised me to meet with a Color specialist, that NEVER happened, I was told to go directly to a paint shop and pick any color. The Window Frames were painted over, Door bell destroyed, because they painted over, foundation stained with primer, Cablevision Cables detached from house and not put back. and they can care less about your plants. They destroyed two Rose Trees. I asked the subcontractor straight up, "If this was your house, would you be happy?" he answered "NO", and he continued saying "I do not know what CertaPro promised you, but this is what they asked me to do and this is the primer they asked me to buy. At the end they went back to fix a couple of things, but the job was mediocre. Communication is none existent with this company, they do things whenever they want, at their own time, subcontractor just kept showing up without previous notice. They also forgot to take the porta potty they rented, I had to call them to remind them. read more

I wasn't familiar with CertaPro of Westchester & CT before we closed on our house this past February. They were included on a list of service providers that my agent gave us while we were under contract and heading toward closing. Working with them has been like a dream compared to some real nightmares I had over the last 4 years. First of all, Gary Schnorr is the BEST. He is our account rep and made the process so simple and professional that I have a hard time even considering working with anyone else. Gary showed up on time, every time and he was extremely flexible with my schedule. He was knowledgeable without being a know-it-all. He was creative while respecting our aesthetic preferences. He even brought in a color consultant (Christine, I think) that was absolutely right about every suggestion she offered, was supportive and encouraged us to have our own ideas, and made it feel like we were getting first class treatment every step of the way. Gary is our trusted advisor and advocate. But that's not all. Patty and Scott in the office made scheduling easy. Alex (interior) and Felix (exterior) were excellent Job Site supervisors. And to top it off, Matt and John were there to make sure everything was done right and up to our specs for everything, including the new garage floor that qualified as Capital Improvement. We're in the process of working with them on our third project now (deck repair and accessible ramp installation) and have two more potential jobs in the pipeline. Hired this company last spring. The painters that came to do the work A) did not work for the company. They were independent contractors. B) Inexperienced and unknowledgeable. While power washing they damaged the paint on a window frame that was not supposed to be painted as well as some deck furniture. They painted over some areas with mildew until I told them that it had to be removed before painting. Those painted over areas are now beginning to show mildew. Not happy read more

We were lured by false promises and smooth talking managers and we encourage you to save yourself the hassle and the money. We were willing to pay extra money because we thought we were getting high quality and low hassle but it was quite the opposite. It is difficult to get accurate information online about CertaPro because apparently they have used a "reputation builder" company to make their internet searches come up positive and to have positive reviews posted by people who might not have even been customers. However, after digging a bit deeper we see why it is a franchise with one of the highest failure rates around. We were very naive and encourage you not to be. Beware of vague reviews and sites that they have made themselves to mask the true negative information. Also, I believe they give a senior discount. Make sure they aren't taking advantage of any seniors in your family or neighborhood. The job started with the subcontractor showing up late with no crew (only his son who had never painted before...but he was going to learn at our house) and insufficient supplies. We had no idea they use subcontractors who try to get in and out as fast as possible using as few supplies as possible....they even tried to get away with one doing one coat of paint. CertaPro had a supervisor who came once a day to convince us that we would end up happy with the job. After 5 days of horrible painting (the job was supposed to be 3-4 days but I later found out that yet another smooth talker who gave us the estimate didn't know what he was doing and has since been fired) this supervisor came back for a few hours with one of his "top painters" to supposedly fix all the problems. Since a job done right the first time is much better than a bad job that gets fixed, we are left with a paint job that is not nearly the quality we expected for the high price CertaPro charges. There are still nail holes, spots in corners that were left unpainted, paint spills on our driveway and other places and a front door that was still not painted after 2 weeks. We were so fed up with them that we decided we will pay someone else to finish the job instead of dealing with them anymore. We spoke to the owner about getting a discount and while he did give us a discount for this nightmare he admitted that he needed to make money off the job so he gave us a discount that we felt was insufficient. The only positive was their color consultant who helped us pick amazing colors that we will now have someone else use to get the job done right. read more

I hired CertaPro of Westchester for a commercial job on a tight deadline and they were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were not the cheapest quote, but the team was outstanding. They even sent an interior designer to see the space and make color recommendations for us as part of their quote! We also had them rip out old ceiling tiles and install new ones, which they did flawlessly. It was winter, and there was snow on the ground and snags with the shipment of ceiling tiles, but they were super reassuring and flexible. They know exactly what they needed to do to get the job done for us on time and they did it without batting an eye. I was never once concerned they would let me down (which is pretty rare in the world of NYC contractors). They were total perfectionists and the results were beautiful.
