Normally when I go on vacation, I love to venture off the beaten path and find hidden gems, especially in new cities. I was recently on an Alaskan cruise, so those opportunities were much rarer, since there are time restrictions on port days. Thankfully, my wife & I wandered here, looking for a place to sit and a drink after a long hike wandering around Juneau. While it was summer in Alaskan and still a little chilly, we were both pretty warm from a strenuous hike. Not knowing the city well, we were away from the tourist crowd. But I saw this place was open, so we walked in and started talking to Izzy, the shop owner. As the menu is quite large, we chatted her up while pondering our choices. Eventually, I chose a Hazelnut Fudge Swirl milkshake while my wife ordered the Vanilla Peanut Butter Swirl milkshake (go big or go home!). As Izzy was the only one working at the moment, she made our drinks one by one. But we weren't in a hurry, so we asked her questions about the shop and life in Juneau. She gave us some additional tips for this trip. The drinks were so good! Izzy made them very thick, and the ice cream was delicious! If it wasn't for our limited port time, we would have come back later in the evening for a 2nd round. With other customers coming in, we sat inside and read while drinking our milkshakes. If I was a local, this would be my (non-alcoholic) hangout. Hopefully in a future Alaskan trip, I'll come in again and enjoy more sweet treats! read more

The location is small and friendly, just a few steps away from the popular tourist area of Juneau. The locals already know this place and tourists should look it over for a great treat. read more

Open late. We spotted this place earlier in our stay and decided to come by Friday night for shakes. We were not disappointed. I got a Chocolate shake with Reece's Pieces, partner got a Cotton Candy Shake. They were served with Boba tea straws which are perfect milkshake straws. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Our only complaint was not being able to see the full menu. And with that, I made sure to take pics for all the lovely people who need to scope it out first! Cerealsly disappointing. I'd heard great things about this place so my family and I gave it a shot. The girl working there made me the completely wrong shake. When she called out the order I didn't go up because what she made had none of the words in the name of what I ordered. When I realized it, she said, "oh, I thought you ordered hazelnut fudge." I politely told her I did not. Rather than make what I ordered and paid for, she just added Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces to the wrong shake, remixed it and gave it back to me. I'll stick to Glacier Scoops from now on. They have much better service and actually make an effort to get things right. read more

Absolutely charming locally owned ice cream shop. Ice cream quality was excellent. So good we went back twice in two days.

Came here with a few friends on a Tuesday evening, at around 7pm. There is an extensive menu including milkshakes, nitrogen ice cream and regular ice cream. You can even order cereal! I wanted a cookies and cream milkshake, but they were out of the ice cream. They were out of a lot of items and only had a few flavors left. But the worker suggested an oreo milkshake, which comes with extra oreos for $12 instead. Apparently they can make that without the ice cream by using milk and a lot of oreos. It was pretty good! There is limited seating inside, and a large crowd of tourists came in after my friends and I ordered so we left the shop once we received our treats. But I would go again, hopefully when they have everything restocked! read more

We go to Juneau every summer and we stopped in on the way to the distillery. I love Thai ice tea so we got the Thai ice tea nitrogen ice cream. It was so so good. Smooth like butter. Incredible! Service was so nice, and we got an explanation on how the nitrogen process works (which is their speciality). Went back a day later and got the matcha nitrogen, which had matcha straight from Korea. read more

I absolutely love seriously milky! They have such unique ice cream flavors from lavender, Thai tea, honey, and even espresso ice cream all made with liquid nitrogen! It's so cool! Ice cream, pun non-intended. I also love the waffles on a stick and bubble waffles. They offer for ice cream. And the tons of different cotton candy. Service has always been great! And I love that the owner even allows her employees to bring their kids to work with them. That's such a refreshing thing to do this day and age. The shop used to be in the Mendenhall mall, but has recently moved to downtown Juneau so if you're visiting on a cruise ship, this is the place to go! read more

So much fun and locally owned! They offer traditional ice cream flavors as well as unique nitrogen ice creams and milkshakes. The owner is very friendly and kind. The kids had so much fun watching the nitrogen ice cream being made. Atmosphere is super bright and fun. A great experience all around. We will definitely be back! read more

Cerealsy Milky is located in the Mendenhall Mall, in a slightly odd location. The door from the parking lot is off to the left of the sign, but still nearby. I came here on a Tuesday with my husband, and it was early enough that we were the only customers. My husband had the espresso and caramel combo, and I got raspberry ice cream with oreos, both in waffle cones. You get to watch them make the ice cream to order, as they're the only liquid nitrogen ice cream maker in Alaska. The resulting ice cream is incredibly smooth, soft, and delicious. They also make milkshakes, waffles, and cotton candy, with bowls of cereal as well. It's a cute shop with a lot of personality, and the employees there were helpful and polite. I'm not sure if she's the owner or manager or just really loves her job, but one of the women working there explained the science behind liquid nitrogen in ice cream and it was very nice.
