Great shop. They have pieces that start at around 8$ for a tile, if you want a good piece expect to pay $18+, a mug is about 25$. I will say tho, the art supplies and glaze is included! I recommend it for couples and group activities. Reason for 3 stars is the shop being closed randomly and not having a way to reach customers about it being closed. I would've liked a easy to see social media post, website banner or voicemail system (voicemail message before the beep or even a call to customers, since the slip given has our numbers) instead of driving an hour to the store to see the flyer. I did try calling twice on the 23rd, and no answer. I do understand that there's usually one employee who rings people up, cleans up, and gives a little info/instructions to new people.

One Saturday, I was tasked with planning a family fun day. We had been enjoying (not really) subarctic temperatures and excessive amounts of snow and really needed a day out of the house, but also weren't the least bit interested in spending another day sledding or enjoying any other snow activity for that matter. I considered the movies, but was yearning for something a little more interactive. Desperate, I searched, "fun things to do" on Yelp, which led me to Ceramica. We wandered down in the early afternoon to find the place bustling with craftiness. They were able to seat us without reservations. The hostess led us to our table and then directed us to the shelves of ceramic goodies lining the wall. You pick something you'd like to paint and have at it. The price on the bottom of the piece reflects the total price of the project (there's no added fees for time, paint, or anything else). They have a huge selection of objects at a variety of price points. After choosing your item, you then wipe it down, choose the paint colors you'd like to use (they show how the paint will look fired in chips on the wall above the paint bottles). Keep in mind the color your using will look much darker once fired. After three coats of blue, my object looked sky blue. Once fired it turned a deep navy. Once your object is painted, you put your initials on the bottom and they catalog it and schedule it to be fired. You pick up your object roughly a week later. We had such a blast! The variety of objects allowed everyone in our group to find something uniquely perfect for their personality. And, what's more, once fired, we all genuinely love our pieces! If you're looking for something a little different, a little interactive, and a whole lot crafty--this is your place! Get to it!

I painted the lucky cat and my boyfriend did the awesome bowl.

Rachel and Amanda were so amazing when it came to helping my boyfriend and I out with the ceramic run down! Amanda even went above and beyond to help my boyfriend with different painting and style techniques, he's not the most confident in art abilities and she made us both feel like pros :)! We had to wear our masks the whole time and you really don't even notice because you have so much fun painting! Couldn't recommend this place enough for date night, girls night, or just for fun w/ kids or adults!

Love this place so much fun the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have so many projects to pick from I just love them all. Just a blast would love to do it again whenever we can.

This is my bowl before it was fired. The design was made by painting over a piece of lace then removing it.

I've organized two group events here this year, one for Empty Bowls benefiting the Idaho Food Bank and the other for Life's Kitchen. Both events went off without a hitch! If you don't feel like an artist, don't worry one bit! I can't draw worth a hoot, but Ceramica made my guests and me feel like bonafide artists. Yes, you can just draw or paint designs on the ceramic pieces, but Ceramica also has a bunch of artistic techniques that they will show you how to execute. One one dish, I did a lace technique by painting over a piece of lace, using it like a stencil. One guest used rubbing alcohol to make the paint run, and another painted over eyelash yarn. All turned out very cool! They can also print out a stencil for you. All of the tools you need, paint, instruction and even firing are all included in the price. We got outstanding service both times we were there. Audriana was especially helpful and patient with our group one evening. Regardless of group size, I would recommend calling ahead. Make sure they're open and that they've got space available. They were great about letting us bring in food -- there are a few options in their strip mall and sushi across the street.

I've been searching for this place coz I really wanted to do something that I can get the artistic juice out of me esp with the kids. Such a fun thing to do! I think it can considered as a relaxation for some coz it did to me. Went here with the kids before Easter & painted an egg. It would have been nice if we had a lot of time coz you can stay here as long as you want & make something out of your ceramic. Every month they have special going on for $10 per person that includes your ceramic object & the painting fee. If you want to do just the normal one, you pay $6 for painting fee but you can choose for your ceramic which ranges from $6 up I guess so doing the specials is already a good deal. I'm thinking of doing this a monthly thing, maybe! I hope Yelp could find a way to get some discount

They provide a variety of colors with examples provided on magnets. Lots of fun!!

If you plan to bring children (which is likely, painting pottery is for kids)...go somewhere else!…read moreI should have read the reviews before taking my boys this evening. Every thing we experienced is in other's reviews and apparently the manager and owner just offer excuses. SO BUMMED that with their great location on the Plaza, they ended up being unprofessional, rude, overpriced and not kid-friendly! The overall vibe is dry, creepy and uncomfortable-No A/C and the staff are extremely rude, awkward and should not be working with customers. They don't explain where the restrooms are and were not helpful when we needed extra supplies. The young teen boy working the desk watched my 6 year old like a hawk and would rush to the table and tell him to not use so much paint anytime he squeezed literally ONE extra drop of paint in his tray than he thought he should. You never reprimand a child, that is the parent's job. And absolutely inappropriate when the child isn't doing anything wrong! I have never felt so nickel and dimed over literally a SQUEEZE of paint, especially when paying $25 for small items? Very unprofessional and the worker continued to do so after I asked him not to and addressed he was not using too much paint as we were sharing the colors. See photo-this is absolutely not too much paint to use for 2 people! Appalling way to treat customers. My son accidentally knocked into a shelf (which is easy to do, there is no walking room everything is stuffed in super tight and uncomfortably) and the manager let out a huge sigh and rolled her eyes. I immediately told her that her behavior was inappropriate and he did nothing wrong, however he was already shamed by her and got upset and embarrassed. I asked to speak to the manager which happened to be the same woman and I told her how unimpressed I was with our service and treatment. She offered no apology and burst into tears and said her grandparents are dying and she literally ran to the bathroom and slammed the door shut and never left the entire time we were there (another 30 minutes). No resolution of any kind was offered - she literally hid from us! So I paid my $70(!) ticket and got the owner's contact information, however, based on other reviews, I doubt it will help!

Only a dab of paint in the circle- which is understandable as Dawn just paid for all our paint. went to paint ceramics with my mother and daughter and the owner of fire and ice screamed at my daughter and expected me to allow her to correct my daughter with negativity and hatred. I don't believe that anybody should own a paint store that cannot handle children. I felt very uncomfortable as Dawn was very unprofessional and her approach to handle a six-year-old. There are just some people that should never be around children because they're abusive verbally and I can see that very clearly with this woman. Having the audacity to tell me that I'm a bad mother was not a smack in the face because I know who I am.. I know where I'm going.. and I know what I stand for.. I won't allow anyone to abuse my child especially some ragged worn out women. Thank I hope your satisfaction in screaming at me was worth it Dawn because your still loved by Jesus! Hope he works on your heart! Love you Dawn and I'll be praying extra hard for you! A lot more love and less negativity especially treating Idaho Natives awful. Get some rest, you need it. Again, If you hate children, post no children allowed!

Located on 6th street, this shop is your one stop shop for all things Idaho, handmade and incredibly special. You can find blown glass, textiles, soaps, lotions, chocolate, peanuts, ornaments, shave oils, cutting boards, games, mugs, vases, ornaments and so much more. Most of my favorite makers were there (think Ladybug Press, Sawtooth Glass Project, City Peanut Shop, All Spun Up, Sage Woolens, etc.) It felt like a holiday craft bazaar that is open year round and housing the very best products. I found the selection to be varied and affordable. You could find things for men, women, children, pets and even yourself! It bears repeating that you are paying for handcrafted, small-business wares. It is not going to have the same price tag as a manufactured good from a big box store. It will be a higher price tag. I like to think that I'm paying for a story. My purchased items contain all the love, hope, and hard work that each maker poured into their product. I love to give handmade stuff for gifts and I think they are appreciated a lot more than something I could ship from Amazon. The shop keepers were lovely. I think they are some of the makers, but it was so very busy when I went in that I didn't want to bog them down with conversation. If you are looking for special presents, this is the place to go. I especially had high hopes for their junk journaling and sticker sections. Unfortunately, I left a bit disappointed. The selection was pretty limited on everything but especially the stickers / planning/ stencil area , and the pricing felt more in line with boutique resale than a thrift shop. For example, a small Happy Planner sticker book was priced at $7.99 something I've gotten at Savers for $5 or less and we all know how astronomical savers pricing is lol . The other sticker and journaling items were $5-$12, which felt a bit steep for secondhand supplies. I totally understand small businesses need to cover costs and make a profit, and I really respect that but I was hoping for more variety and more "thrift-style" pricing. I'd still love to come back and check out other sections of the store, and hopefully they'll consider revisiting some of the pricing in the future to make it a more budget-friendly stop for crafters like me.

I only heard of Cats Eye within the last two or three days. I thought my friends were hiding this gem from me. Nope. The brick & mortar store is THAT new! (I won't hide this gem from them.) I saw so many crafty goodies: ink pads, rubber stamps, markers, pencils, paints, brushes, yarn, hooks, patterns, raw wool, stickers, cardstock, storage, beads, wire, buttons, jewelry findings, and even office supplies. I arrived after 5pm, and I asked Shay to please kick me out at when she closes 6pm, so I don't keep her here that late. (I think I was a little late anyway.) I'll have to go back ASAP to finish up my 1st round of shopping. The other thing I noticed was that there's a classroom at the back of the space. I bet there will be some really fun opportunities to learn techniques and new crafts. There is a cool scheduling tool on their website for when you want to donate some of your unused artistic or crafty supplies. Items inside are inexpensive and in great condition. I'm excited to play with my new goodies tomorrow and share this review with my friends.
