Fun, fun, fun. So many options to choose and so many design choices. We've done family outings here and they're great. Gets the teenagers off the phone and actually have conversations. Also you can bring food in and eat between painting & drying stages. read more

Went in for the first time as beginners. Took a while for the clerk to acknowledge us. Once she found out we were not there with cash in hand and just looking she disengaged. Tried to ask some beginner questions and they were mostly dismissed. The shop was also quite dark and difficult to see the pieces they had. Left me with little inclination or desire to return. read more

Very fun, I came here for a birthday party and really enjoyed it. They had so many different pieces of pottery to choose from and different paints. Only bad thing was that is was very quiet, which may be good for some people but I wish there was at least some quieter music of some sort. Other than that, with hopefully be returning! read more

Great shop. They have pieces that start at around 8$ for a tile, if you want a good piece expect to pay $18+, a mug is about 25$. I will say tho, the art supplies and glaze is included! I recommend it for couples and group activities. Reason for 3 stars is the shop being closed randomly and not having a way to reach customers about it being closed. I would've liked a easy to see social media post, website banner or voicemail system (voicemail message before the beep or even a call to customers, since the slip given has our numbers) instead of driving an hour to the store to see the flyer. I did try calling twice on the 23rd, and no answer. I do understand that there's usually one employee who rings people up, cleans up, and gives a little info/instructions to new people. read more

One Saturday, I was tasked with planning a family fun day. We had been enjoying (not really) subarctic temperatures and excessive amounts of snow and really needed a day out of the house, but also weren't the least bit interested in spending another day sledding or enjoying any other snow activity for that matter. I considered the movies, but was yearning for something a little more interactive. Desperate, I searched, "fun things to do" on Yelp, which led me to Ceramica. We wandered down in the early afternoon to find the place bustling with craftiness. They were able to seat us without reservations. The hostess led us to our table and then directed us to the shelves of ceramic goodies lining the wall. You pick something you'd like to paint and have at it. The price on the bottom of the piece reflects the total price of the project (there's no added fees for time, paint, or anything else). They have a huge selection of objects at a variety of price points. After choosing your item, you then wipe it down, choose the paint colors you'd like to use (they show how the paint will look fired in chips on the wall above the paint bottles). Keep in mind the color your using will look much darker once fired. After three coats of blue, my object looked sky blue. Once fired it turned a deep navy. Once your object is painted, you put your initials on the bottom and they catalog it and schedule it to be fired. You pick up your object roughly a week later. We had such a blast! The variety of objects allowed everyone in our group to find something uniquely perfect for their personality. And, what's more, once fired, we all genuinely love our pieces! If you're looking for something a little different, a little interactive, and a whole lot crafty--this is your place! Get to it! read more

Rachel and Amanda were so amazing when it came to helping my boyfriend and I out with the ceramic run down! Amanda even went above and beyond to help my boyfriend with different painting and style techniques, he's not the most confident in art abilities and she made us both feel like pros :)! We had to wear our masks the whole time and you really don't even notice because you have so much fun painting! Couldn't recommend this place enough for date night, girls night, or just for fun w/ kids or adults! read more

I've organized two group events here this year, one for Empty Bowls benefiting the Idaho Food Bank and the other for Life's Kitchen. Both events went off without a hitch! If you don't feel like an artist, don't worry one bit! I can't draw worth a hoot, but Ceramica made my guests and me feel like bonafide artists. Yes, you can just draw or paint designs on the ceramic pieces, but Ceramica also has a bunch of artistic techniques that they will show you how to execute. One one dish, I did a lace technique by painting over a piece of lace, using it like a stencil. One guest used rubbing alcohol to make the paint run, and another painted over eyelash yarn. All turned out very cool! They can also print out a stencil for you. All of the tools you need, paint, instruction and even firing are all included in the price. We got outstanding service both times we were there. Audriana was especially helpful and patient with our group one evening. Regardless of group size, I would recommend calling ahead. Make sure they're open and that they've got space available. They were great about letting us bring in food -- there are a few options in their strip mall and sushi across the street. read more

I've been searching for this place coz I really wanted to do something that I can get the artistic juice out of me esp with the kids. Such a fun thing to do! I think it can considered as a relaxation for some coz it did to me. Went here with the kids before Easter & painted an egg. It would have been nice if we had a lot of time coz you can stay here as long as you want & make something out of your ceramic. Every month they have special going on for $10 per person that includes your ceramic object & the painting fee. If you want to do just the normal one, you pay $6 for painting fee but you can choose for your ceramic which ranges from $6 up I guess so doing the specials is already a good deal. I'm thinking of doing this a monthly thing, maybe! I hope Yelp could find a way to get some discount read more

I used to love going to paint at Ceramica! I want to feel that way again! I wish they would improve their materials and update their brushes, paints, etc. so that everything comes out of the kiln smoother and prettier! The pieces are expensive and it's disappointing when the paint feels old and the brushes are shedding onto my piece. I am putting this review on yelp in hopes that Ceramica will improve the quality of their business so that I can come back and enjoy it like I used to! read more

I went to Ceramica three times this week for work and it was great. The staff is friendly and very helpful. You get to choose your ceramic object and then paint it using all different types of paints and cool objects to help you make different patterns. I am not a artsy person but it was very fun. If your looking for a fun date night or something fun to do with your kids give Ceramica a try you will have a blast. Also the prices were not terrible $8 for smaller objects and it goes up to like $20 for the much bigger items. read more

I've been here twice, once for a Ladies night out and the other with family. For our ladies night, we called ahead and reserved the large table/room in the back. It sat 10 of us comfortably. We were able to bring dinner and a few bottles of wine. The last time, we just showed up with no reservations and were able to find a table without a problem. My daughter loves it! They have a large variety of ceramic pieces to chose from. It usually takes about a week or so for them to seal your art piece. We've enjoyed it and will be back! read more

My family enjoyed our new tradition... to paint pottery on New Year's Day! The shop offered a variety of different ceramics to choose from and there were many different colors and other supplies to use to make your piece especially unique. My only qualm is that the experience was a little more expensive than I would have predicted. It cost $125 for 4 people to paint. read more

Ceramica offers fun for all ages. Unfortunately prices are extremely high for even the most modest ceramic piece. A plain ceramic coffee mug shouldn't need to cost $25. read more

Although the experience was good, the customer service was not. There were maybe two employees that were friendly the day I was in. And watching how the management spoke to the employees was terrible! Very unprofessional. Overall.. a lovely business concept, however they could probably use a change of management. You can also hear when they talk poorly about customers.. try whispering or better yet, be nice. Also on their website it says it's not necessary to have a reservation but I walked in and had to be put on a wait list.. poor communication!! read more

Prices are a bit steep. Website showed 5$-40$ Didn't see any 5$ pieces guess those were the it's bitsy soy sauce cups, but even those were priced at 15$+. Spent almost 60$ for a cup, plate, snail, and tiny peacock. Environment kinda stuffy great if you want a quiet, serious painting session. Service was ok..But kinda felt put out with having my kids in what was supposed to be a "kid friendly" environment. Overall cost per experience: "meh" read more

I hadn't been to one of these businesses in over a decade, and it was nice to go again. The woman running the place was super nice and inviting. It's easy to just sit and paint and we never felt rushed. I can't wait to pick up our soy bowl set next week. So much better than anything we would have bought, and so much more fun for an open afternoon. read more

What an amazing experience. I called 2 months prior to my Veteran and family event with the Wounded Warrior Project and they were extremely helpful. The day of the event, they were incredible. They "Owners" are retired military and this was just what the doctor ordered on a cold night so the families could get out and make new friends and not be cooped up in the house waiting for the weather to break. If you are looking for a place to go and enjoy family time or just a little alone time with friends, THIS IS THE PLACE. They also play amazing music as well. read more

Ceramica is a wonderful Boise tradition. I've painted bisque with my 40-something best friends, with Girl Scouts, for birthday parties; you name it. Recently, we were stumped on a Saturday afternoon - what to do with three 16-year old German house guests? Take them to Ceramica! We'll ship their creations to them and they'll have unique mementos. The staff is so patient, letting you come in multiple times to get your piece just right and not at all stingy with the glaze. Yes, it's spendy, but sitting in Old Boise with a latte, a painting project and good friends is the best. Their hours-of-operation are good but unusual, so check ahead. read more

The actual experience of sitting down and painting was great, the failure came on the follow through. I painted a few things by the deadline to have them ready by Christmas. I was given a date when I could pick them up (12/20 after 5:00pm). I went the day after just to make sure they would be ready (12/21). I tried calling ahead to check, but couldn't get anyone to answer. So after driving across the valley, waiting in line for 20 minutes while one girl searched through the store for other people's orders (while the other workers milled around), I was told they couldn't find my pieces. This lead them to the assumption that my pieces weren't done yet and must still be in the kiln. They said they would call when it was ready, but I should really call ahead next time so I don't waste gas getting there. Really?! The pick-up system needs to be revamped. A phone call when a piece is done would be a huge help, but since they have a website why not make a section where you can check on the progress of your piece? Or organize the pieces so someone can come in and pickup in an easy and timely manner. Standing in line for that long only to be told they can't find my piece is unacceptable. Especially when they are a little pricey to begin with. This will be my one and only time at Ceramica due to the poor follow through and poor customer service at the time of my scheduled pick-up. read more
