When I first reached out to Kevin after a recommendation from a friend, I was overwhelmed. Kevin took the time to understand every detail, asked thoughtful questions, and gave me an honest assessment. He was really understanding about both the legal issues and the human side of what I was going through. I never felt rushed or like I was just another case. I was facing an organization with virtually unlimited resources and some of the best lawyers in the world. That didn't intimidate him in the slightest. In fact, he seemed energized by the challenge. He had a clear, confident command of the law, but what impressed me even more was his strategic thinking. Every move had a purpose. He knew which arguments to make early, which issues to hold back, and how to position the case. Watching him work felt like a masterclass in litigation strategy... a true David v Goliath play by play. One thing that meant a lot to me was that he came up with a creative fee arrangement that aligned our incentives: resolve the matter quickly if possible, but be fully prepared to fight if necessary. That gave me enormous confidence that every recommendation he made was in my best interest. Throughout the process, he was responsive, thoughtful, honest, professional, and exceptionally easy to work with. He communicated clearly, explained complex legal issues in a way that made perfect sense, and always made sure I understood our options and why we were pursuing a particular strategy. Most importantly, I trusted him completely. If you're looking for an attorney who is brilliant, strategic, deeply ethical, and genuinely invested in getting the best possible outcome for you, I cannot recommend Kevin highly enough. My boyfriend and I are both graphic designers from the midwest and had been going to a lady who specializes in doing taxes for people in the arts the past 2 years. When we moved here I gave up sending off my taxes to her in search of a more local place and my boyfriend continued to go the other lady. Last year, I went to Gary (thanks to a recommendation from my boyfriend's boss) and my boyfriend stuck it out w that lady. I had done a ton of freelance so what I got back was minimal and pretty similar to what my boyfriend got back. It wasn't until this year that we could see the BLATANT difference between Gary and this other woman. We both make almost the same base salary, just a little more than we did last year, so we had a control group. My boyfriend got back DOUBLE what he got back the year before. Not to mention when Gary saw her handy work he laughed and said he would have been better off to do it with Turbo Tax, it was that bad. Lesson learned, and I hope this review will make his minimal fee worth it. The more you pay, the better the man on the other end is and Gary is just that. (Also, the better the return.)
