I went to see a movie with my family but were turned away as the movie was rated R and my kids are 16 despite an adult being present we were not allowed in. The staff member was not polite about enforcing the policy as well. He told us they need space in the theater and there's a lot of people trying to attend. We bought tickets 2 days prior. The amount of staff members used as a security team makes the theater feel suffocating and like you're constantly watched. read more

We went to see the new planet of the apes. The theater is older but still very clean and well managed. We always appreciate friendly staff so it was nice to be so welcomed by the smiling and friendly staff. They also have a nice variety of yummy snacks!:) read more

This was an average to slightly above average movie theatre. They were unfortunately understaffed as most places are so I absolutely do not fault them for anything. That being said. We didn't have slow service or anything. Popcorn was solid. One thing to note: when we bought tickets, we got to choose our seats. I don't think I've ever done that before for a movie theatre. It surprised me, but in a good way. I thoroughly enjoyed picking my seat which, as my wife and I discussed, can make or break a movie. Overall, solid. read more

It's not the newest state of the art movie theater, but it was not too bad. It was pretty clean, the chairs were a bit on the small side, but I was there for an early bird showing so it didn't matter since the theater was pretty empty. I didn't buy any popcorn, candy, or drinks, so I can't comment on the quality or price of the snacks at the concession stand. I watched November Man. It was a pretty entertaining and action packed movie, but a little bit too predictable. Even Pierce Brosnan's acting was a bit lacking. We went to a movie on 8-12-18 in theater 2. For starters the popcorn is terrible. The bathrooms are filthy. The theater was uncomfortably hot. I went and complained and they said they would take care of it. They never did. When exiting the movie we noticed everyone looked sweaty. My husband said something to an employee and she said they were unable to get the air conditioning to work. This theater is not being taken care of. I will wait for the movies to be released for at home viewing before I ever go back to Century Theaters. read more

Its newer, nicer looking, and seating is awesome. Other than that century doesn't compare to carmike whom is less expensive on--well--everything. Carmike has better digital projectors and sound. ...and the popcorn: whomever thought straight up oil was a good replacement to popcorn butter is just WRONG. Carmike has the best popcorn. We went ahead of time and pre-purchased tickets to bypass the line. We showed up for the show about 45 minutes before showtime. Went and waited in line for popcorn and pop. As I was doing this my wife went in to get our boys and myself seats. They informed us that even though we prepaid, we would have to wait outside in line. Keep in mind, this day the wind was blowing 40 mph and the line started outside. They wouldn't let people wait in the inside line that is roped off and was empty. I mean totally empty. Not one person in it and at this point it was 30 mins till showtime. I spoke with a manager and they said it would be a fire code hazard if we waited inside. Also the line outside was only about 30 people long. So they were well within the fire code standard. Don't waste your time with this movie theater. Not the greatest theatre. Don't spend the extra money for XD. You get a skinnier leather seat. That reclines. With about 4" of leg space. All for a $12 ticket. Thanks but no thanks. Walked out and got a refund. The movie theater was full of several groups of teenagers making a lot of noise and being disrespectful. When we asked for the refund the counter girl said "well, it is PG13" So?!? There was a scared 10 year old behind us asking for his mom... this was 2 minutes into a "scary" movie. This is the best movie theater in town. It has an extensive concession stand. The seating is stadium style with very comfortable seats and liftable arm rests in case you want to cuddle with your neighbor (ask first if it's a stranger ha ha). The bathrooms could use a little work but otherwise they're perfectly fine. The parking lot does tend to be way too small when it's busy. I highly recommend this place. read more

We went to Cinemark to see a PG-13 rated movie on Sunday, 6/8/14 and watched the 0940 show. The movie was very clean and the picture quality and sound was outstanding. The only issue we had was that we arrived and found seats all the way in the back about and then right prior to the movie starting a young family with a 1 year old and 3 year old showed up and sat right in front of us (yes we were the only ones there inside and they sit in front of us) and when the movie started they both started screaming due to the loud sound. I don't understand why young children are allowed at such a young age inside a movie theatre. When my wife and I had young children we always paid for a baby sitter or make arrangments for the children and went to the movies alone unless it was a G rated movie where we knew there would be a lot of other children present. read more

It's probably the best theater in eastern South Dakota. Largest selection with stadium seating that's not cramped and good picture quality and volume. It's easy to get too, and there's a cold stone creamery right next to it. If that doesn't suit me, it's not a far drive to get to other establishments. For South Dakota standards it's pretty good, especially their new XD theaters which is about the only one's I'll go and use now. read more

Facilities are good, offers arcade games to play while you wait, in a great location to get lunch before the movie plus the seating and sound are optimal. The pricing is also equal to if not less than some of the lousier theatres in town. The movie I saw was Shutter island which was a good psychological twister. read more

This theatre has to be the worst around when it comes to management and the way the staff are trained!! I am from out of state and meet my sister in Sioux Falls every year for shopping and movie night. Last year my sister got a band-aid in her popcorn and when she reported it to the management all he did was take the bandaid from her...we thought we would give it one more try this year and the majority of staff treated us like criminals when I accidentally took a display cup for our soda thinking it was the one that went with our popcorn combo. The manager and the boy that took our money were rude and very accusatory even though we kept saying that we wanted what we had paid for and no more. A young man named Evan that got our popcorn was the only one that was pleasant throughout our entire experience. He was very nice and we feel bad that he has to work with the rest of the RUDE and very NON PROFESSIONAL staff he does. My sister said the manager was the same one that did nothing about the bandaid last year..we now are considering legal action if it isn't too late as the incident was an extreme bio-health hazard knowing that she had bit into the bandaid. We will go to the other theatre next time!!! read more

The theater was clean and everyone seemed friendly. Prices were higher than what I was expecting to pay. I've paid much less and received more. The seats were OK. If you arrive early plan on it being hot in the theater. They don't turn on the air until the movie starts. What wrecked the movie for us was the horrible sound system. For one it was waaaay too loud. I asked 2 times for them to turn it down, yet it didn't happen. There was a whopping 2 other people in the theater so it wouldn't have made that much difference. The sound was so horrible it ruined the movie. After leaving my ears rang for hours. Do not bring small children with you as again, TOO LOUD. I've had better sound systems in my car. You'd think paying their inflated prices they could afford some decent sound. You can't get more bass from a system that's already taxed by turning it up. It sounded like a kid who was turning up the gain trying to get more bass out of the sound system. Never again. read more
