What are they afraid of? It would have been nice to skip the heat and see a movie. But I'm not allowed. I'm traveling and have no vehicle or place to leave my empty backpack.

But I returned from a 13 wk crisis contract in LA to find that they had ratcheted their prices up by 100%, by vitue of their new 'first run!' gimmick. Crushing. You can still catch a $3.50 movie, but only classics, and only a few are ever offered. I loved having a true cheap seats theater in town (as any good town should) where you could see a new movie for less just by waiting a bit longer. It's truly a shame. You might as well pay a few extra bucks and go to Century. I will still go occasionally, but I guarantee I will spend FAR less money there now at $7 than I would have at $3.50. I realize we are in trying times, but this is just seems like a gouge. Otherwise decent staff, great popcorn, presentable facilities, quiet atmosphere. For the record, this would be 5+ stars a year ago. I was tempted to rate lower, but have to give some credit for their years of past radness.

Getting our tickets and snacks was easy, but being in a small town where a meal costs around $13, charging $5 for a candy bar is insane. The theater was great and comfortable, but about thirty minutes into the movie, the film started skipping and it wasn't letting up. Eventually, multiple parties went down to let someone know and they stopped the movie for five minutes to get it back up and running. Then they turned it back on, but there was only sound no picture. After ten minutes the movie went off without another hitch. Not to mention, almost every group was talking during the movie, which was super annoying. Obviously, not the theater's fault, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves.

When I hear the New Mutants was finally being released and finding out this place was open, i was qued up. With regard to this theatre its relatively new, probably 3-4 years I'm guessing; not much pazaz on the exterior and the entrance is relatively small as far as theatre's go. Ticketing are immediately once you pass the exterior doors. Apparently movie hot dogs aren't on the menu since most people here in town don't consume them. Really! The actually movie seating is stadium seating and the seats are big leather / pleather automated recliner type and big cup holder. I was probably 5 Stars for the comfort. The sound system is some of the best I've heard and another 5+ stars. A disappointment is the actual screen. It seem smaller than it should and what makes it appear smaller is the screen resolution was not sharp and the contract from light and dark really sucked. Regardless it was nice for a change to have some normalcy and wouldn't have any issues coming back here again.
