I was…read moreplanning a destination bachelorette party several months ahead for my now sis-in-law, Tess T. Based on the business' description on this site, I contacted JJ who ran the show. She responded to me right away and worked out a custom painting-to-do, inspired by a couple I showed her through email. JJ either texted, emailed, or called me to make sure I had directions and confirm details. I was able to pay for the entire class in advance through their website. As soon as we arrived at her house, we were brought upstairs to her living area which was set up like a classroom with 7 easels, primed canvases, paint palettes, an assortment of about 8 brushes, paper towels, rinsing cups, practice paper, and an agreeable soundtrack. If we needed any additional paints or anything, we just had to ask. She provided paint t-shirts/smocks to some who were unprepared. I was able to comfortably change out of my dressy clothes into an old tee and sweatpants in her bathroom. At the front of the classroom, JJ showed us what to do on her own canvas accompanied by a flatscreen TV showing the painting from start to finish, step-by-step on loop. Her calming voice was just perfect for teaching the class. She would come around to give us help, personalized suggestions, and technique pointers. I learned a lot. Though most of us went off-road with our paintings, it was impressive that we were all inspired by the same subject. Also, though we brought a lot of snacks and spirits, most of us ended up too involved with our paintings. It seems that the best times we could have indulged are when we were waiting a few minutes for our paint to dry. If I lived closer, I would do this again and again with After 5 Art Party with JJ at the helm.

We drove into this cute community and were allowed to park in the garage. We were then escorted upstairs and immediately we felt like it was play time. Super cute set up with the tables set up like we were in a class surrounded by wall art made by JJ. Very cool with lots of inspiration to paint. Everything was all set up, all we had to do was listen to the instructions and have a good time. It was a very chill experience, the instructor wasn't pushy or overbearing at all. She pretty much guided us and let our creativity run wild. I learned so much and I totally want to do this again!

Could of been better…read more First of all the Ribfest is NOT in the Sioux Falls Arena, it is held outside in the back parking lot. It's our personal opinion that it could have been a better event if they held it inside instead of outside, the event tried to have a fair/carnival atmosphere, but the area wasn't big enough to pull it off. There were several different types of BBQ from different areas, and easily it could be costly to go to this, $5 to get in per person, $4 for a non-alcoholic drink and lowest cost for food we saw for BBQ was $9.00 which was 3 ribs and beans. Music was great and it was free however the only people that got a shaded area was the ViP's, whoever they were everyone else normal like us ended up getting sunburned. Seating down and eating you will get a mix of music from the food stands since they all are playing their own brand of music and it overlaps each other. If you bring children next year make sure you bring plenty of sunblock to put on them, it cost us $30 per person to attend so if you have a large family bring plenty of money also. They did have a good selection of different vendors but you will be spending serious money if you eat at each one of them. The biggest issue I had at Ribfest is that they had over 20,000 people attend this event and only raised $1,800 for the Cure Kids Cancer fund, how much is being donated, a whopping 1 percent? Makes you wonder how much their administrative fees are. I gave it overall 2 stars due to the lack of shade and the cost. If you miss it no big deal, you can always go to Famous Daves.

The parents, players, and I all agree that Black Cat art studio was the way to go. Jodi, the owner, was extremely accommodating. We had 18 girls painting that evening. They had the best time! She taught them a really cool paint pouring technique. She was also very accommodating about picking up the items once they were dry. She was great with the girls and has such a fantastic attitude. The art studio is decorated adorably. You can bring your own snacks and buy your drinks there. They even have alcoholic beverages for adults. I highly recommend this studio!

I loved having a true cheap seats theater in town (as any good town should) where you could see a new movie for less just by waiting a bit longer. It's truly a shame. You might as well pay a few extra bucks and go to Century. I will still go occasionally, but I guarantee I will spend FAR less money there now at $7 than I would have at $3.50. I realize we are in trying times, but this is just seems like a gouge. Otherwise decent staff, great popcorn, presentable facilities, quiet atmosphere. For the record, this would be 5+ stars a year ago. I was tempted to rate lower, but have to give some credit for their years of past radness.

Kinda Vegas Style Most drinks are basically free…read moreI won forty bucks There are small little casinos all over South Dakota. I have passed many several times but never been in one until tonight. Color me reasonably impressed. I walked in and almost felt like I was at a gentlemen's club. Dimly lit and hip hop playing. There were maybe like ten machines. No table games. I was the only customer in the joint. Walked up to the bar and perused the selection. Mostly Miller, Coors and other macrobrews. Went with a Heineken. The bartender says that will be a buck, is that alright? Uhhh, yeah, of course that is alright. She explained that the cheap beers are free and premium beers and shots of hard liquor with your choice of mix are a buck so long as you are playing. Game on! Put my twenty in and the slots were loose. Lots of hits. No long dry spells. Worked my way up to triple my investment and decided to cash in my chips. Signs over the machines say to call the bartender over before you cash in. I did so, and left with two extra Jacksons for about twenty minutes worth of time. Hey, it's nowhere near to Vegas but for the Midwest - I'll take it! I'm not aware of any casinos in MN or WI that do drinks Vegas style. If I had won a hondo, we would be talkin' a four star review!
