DO NOT EVER THINK ABOUT GETTING THEIR SERVICE! If I could give this company negative stars, I absolutely would. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with any service provider. The sales department? Oh, they're quick to answer the phone. But customer service? Feels like they're using their own internet. Slow, useless, and beyond frustrating. You're forced through a maze of automated menus just to end up waiting 45 minutes on hold for someone who never answers. I requested their service on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The earliest installation date they had was Tuesday, June 24. So I waited four days. On that Tuesday around 3:30 PM, I got an email saying my service was activated. I got home at 4:15 PM, followed the instructions to set up the router, waited 15 minutes, nothing. Restarted it, unplugged it, tried everything. Still nothing. I called customer service, wasted 10 minutes navigating their ridiculous phone system, and finally reached technical support, only to be told by a robot that I'd have to wait 45 minutes to speak to someone. I waited 14 minutes before realizing this was total BS, grabbed my keys, went straight to Verizon, and got home internet for a better price. No upfront fees, no connection charges, just plugged the router into the wall, waited 5 minutes, and boom, 398 Mbps. That's 338 more than CenturyLink was offering me for just $10 more. Then it gets worse. I go online to cancel the CenturyLink service, which never even worked, and they have the nerve to charge me $28 to disconnect a service I never had, on top of the $50 deposit they already took from me. This company is a complete scam. A rip-off. They should be investigated by the authorities. Stay far away from CenturyLink. There are much better options out there. bullshit service!!!! tried to cancel my service and says it doesn't recognize my phone number. can't get anyone live to talk to. they won't even set up a payment plan. i struggle financially and they won't work with you to make paying the bill easier. if i ever get internet again it'll be from a different company. i'll read the reviews first before deciding on a internet company. i strongly recommend not doing business with century link!!!!!!! read more

I was supposed to have installation for Internet today. I had confirmations through both texts and emails. Technician never showed up, so I called. The person I spoke with said my order wasn't submitted and they wouldn't have available time to install Internet for another week. The customer service is terrible, and obviously this company is not reliable. Go somewhere else, that you can depend on. read more

i have used CenturyLink for years and for years i had the price for life. though they told me it was a grandfathered rate that would not increase. few years ago the connection became horrible and slow and was told i needed to upgrade the modem and get faster service the price would go up about $10 so i agreed. Come to find out now that this change cancels the "grandfathered" and i became subject to price increases. Seems like this is a loophole to be able to increase pricing on their loyal customers. I tried to speak to a rep about why i was never told i would become subject to the price increase and the rep was dodgy and would not answer my questions instead sent me images of my bill and gave me information not pertinent with what i was inquiring about. Just awful customer service practice. i will now begin to look for other internet providers after over a decade of being a loyal customer. read more

This is the mos trash internet provider in the US. They always say they are having some come to look at our router but they never show up. They had our router set up to only handle 1 phone at a time. They always say they found a solution to the problem but it still never works. read more

As long as you don't have to do anything with customer service, these guys would rate a 3 star. Whenever it rains the service slows down. We use it primarily for streaming video because online gaming became too infuriating to deal with. I've had service with these guys since Ma Bell split up and how long you've been with them makes no difference with anything. Their customer service is positively appalling. It takes me at least 4-6 phone calls, half of them I get hung up on, to get any issue resolved. I tried using their chat method to get things resolved (using a different computer because my service was down) and what should take 15-20 minutes (I used to be in customer service) has taken over an hour. The agent seems to be oblivious as to what they should do or what they can do to help resolve the issue. They keep wanting to transfer me to a non-related department and cannot tell me how that department can help me since the issue isn't in their purview. I do not understand how a company that has been providing internet service for so long fails to upgrade it's service to match local competitors (faster speeds and fewer outages) and what little regard / value they give to customer satisfaction. read more

I think that Century link has the worst service. Their employees are not able to help you and you have to continue to get transferred from one person to another. If I could find a way out of my contract I would. I certainly won't recommend them to anyone even my worst enemy read more

Had internet with them for over 2 years. Terrible experience. Terrible service. Spent hours & HOURS on the phone with them - they always came up with excuses telling me from their end my internet is working even though I could not pull up a simple website. I tried 2 different modems/routers had tech calls walk me through several reboots, had technician come to my home.. nothing helped & they refused to refund anything. I finally made the move to another local provider gave them the shutoff date which they confirmed 3 times. Guess what.. the shotty service was shut down days prior to the agreed date.. sigh - if you're a current customer save yourself, cut your losses - good riddance .. if you're a prospect - BEWARE read more
