Hired Sunset to replace a small section of roofing shingles that blew off our rental property…read moreduring a storm last year. The replacement shingles did not match at all and we had to eventually hire a new contractor to re-do the work. Apparently, it was not that difficult to obtain replacement shingles of similar color to our existing roof, but for whatever reason, Dan's team couldn't make the effort to do this right.

He actually put effort into his work, instead of leaving a half-assed job. He went out of his way to help us. I am so happy with the results of his work, and will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs work done on their house.

Our front porch steps needed replaced due to water damage. Bob came out and I described what needed…read moredone. I told him that I wanted plastic boarding to be used. He said ok, he will get back to me with a proposal & price in a couple days. I got his proposal via email. It had the amount and he said it would take 2 days to complete. He started work 3 days later. After working on the first steps, he said that he didn't include plastic boarding for the sides of the steps and he would not pay for it. So I had to research and find out who carried the plastic boards, order and pay for them online before he would pick them up. It cost me an extra $70 above the proposed cost for the work. He made a mistake with the bottom plastic board (cut too short). So he had to get another at his cost. But he cut it too short also. He then asked me if he could paint or caulk it to make it look better. I told him that I wanted the plastic board to go the full length across the bottom of the steps, so it would look right. He got mad, drove off, got another piece of plastic, came back & installed it "improperly" and left without letting us know he was done with the job. I do not trust him to repair it correctly, even though his invoice states (1) one year warranty on workmanship. My neighbor and I will repair his faulty work on our own time. I would not recommend Bob's Jobs for work of any kind to anyone! Bruce Jenkins 1212 Burlington Road Virginia Beach, VA

However, that was two months ago and absolutely no communications from the company have been forthcoming. This does not appear to be a professional approach, i.e., if the company decided against providing an estimate then the company should have informed the potential customer. GBT Construction Mr…read more Mark Allen is the owner of this company. The wife and I decided to expand our deck. I called and asked Mark to come for a estimate of the project. He arrived when he said he would on time and looked the situation over. Much to my surprise after inspection of the old smaller deck he noticed that it was unsafe and should be reinforced for safety (and Code compliance),for expansion because it was shaky. I was pleased with his knowledge and appreciated him bringing this to my attention. My wife and I accepted his advice to demolish down to the frame and awarded him the job. He and a helper arrived on time to start the deconstruction of my old deck and the project was under way. His worker, Tim did an excellent job of bringing the deck down to the frame which he had said was reusable. The following day A carpenter, Ken showed up and started the construction. When they returned the they continued and finished the deck. I am glad We hired Mark for the job. Ken and Tim worked steady to repair and extended our new deck to our satisfaction. I complement thrse two. It looks great, very sturdy and a nice addition to our home. I must say Mark's price was very reasonable, his coordinating coordinating with me both on yhe phone and in person, dropping by now and again to spend time with his men was admirable. That shows me a good repore with his employes and also cares for the progress of his commitment to his customers. We thank all involved for such a great job and I highly recommend Mark's company to all, and I will call him when I need a contractor in the future. Thanks Mark, Ken and Tim.

Two slabs was all that was required to complete the countertops, full back splashes, and breakfast counter. There was even enough material remaining to do a bathroom vanity, and a (free) cutting board. See attached pictures.
