It was a great portion. We also had pupusas because of course you have to have pupusas at a Salvadorean restaurant. The revueltas were a great portion and I really enjoyed it. We are from out of town but would definitely come back when we are in the Elizabeth area.

Great hospitality and service with great food and serving sizes, this restaurant is family friendly and budget friendly at the same time. Evenings are packed and colored with loud music and large screen TVs playing sports games from all over latin america. A total Central/South American vibe with a sports bar on the side. Takeout counter also available for a quick stop and pickup to go. The menu is extensive... but to be honest, I only ever come for the pupusas! lol We ordered: Bean and Cheese Popusa Pupusas Revueltas

Once inside, you'll notice that the restaurant is larger than it first appears from the outside. There are several tables, as well as a full lunch counter with seats. Homely and warmly decorated, there's certainly a wonderful aura and atmosphere inside. The kitchen is visible from the counter, and the menu is only in Spanish. There's usually quite a lunch rush, and it may be hard to find a seat at first. It's worth the wait, as you see delicious typical Salvadoran dishes leaving the kitchen and being delivered at a rapid rate. The prices are extremely affordable, with various lunch specials costing only $5. The soup changes daily, so I went for the mondongo (tripe soup, in a beef broth, with carrots, celery, and yucca). In addition, no trip to a Salvadoran restaurant would be complete without sampling their pupusas. I ordered the pupusas con todo, which came with pork, cheese, beans, and loroco. Everything I tried was extremely fresh and delicious and I would certainly return again!

Food comes out on good time. The only hard thing is parking but I've always find a spot outside. You can't burn the calories at the jersey gardens mall :) The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I am a big bean eater lol. And they don't offer side of beans which I would appreciate if they did. Other than that I recommend this place.

But once you find it, you'll be rewarded with some of the best Salvadoran food in Elizabeth! Parking is free in the lot, however, it is sometimes full. The restaurant itself is deceptively large. You first enter through the bar area, down a hallway, into the dining room which is quite spacious. Once seated, I was greeted and I ordered (2) pupusas especiales made with maiz, which is stuffed with pork, beans, and cheese. They were amazing and so far the best I've had in Elizabeth. They had the perfect fluffy and airiness, and clearly freshly made. The fillings themselves were great, as well as the curtido and salsa rojo. For $2 each, it was a steal, and many of the other dishes looked appetizing as well such as their homemade soups and typical plates. The dining room was pretty crowded for lunch time, which of course is a good sign. The service was extremely friendly and inviting and hope to return again!

And I've looked and looked and LOOKED. Every time I try a new pupusa place, I end up being disappointed with myself for being "adventurous" when I have already located the best. Best curtido too. Sometimes you go to these pupuserias and they have the pink curtido (what. is. that.) or they put jalapeños in their curtido (like, staaahhhp) - but not Willy's. Oh man, just talking about the pupusas here makes me want some and I'm currently on a diet, boo. But not boo for you if you're looking into this place because I'm telling you right now, don't think. Do. Now, as far as the dine-in experience, it's aiiight. Not amazing. The staff here doesn't speak English, so if you don't speak English, it will be difficult. On Sundays, they usually have Spanish karaoke going on in the dining room, so if you ain't into that - do yourself a favor and order pick-up. You will miss out on the chips and salsa you get when you dine in, though, and they are damn good. The staff isn't the most attentive and they can be a little fast - usually because they're also working as bartenders at the very busy bar on the other side of the dining room. However, I never felt completely neglected. Oh, they don't offer tap water and charge $3 per bottle. BOO. You're better off getting an agua fresca for that price (and it would be so worth it too). In my times here, I usually only get the pupusas, but the bf has ordered the churrasco and he loved it. OH! Also, the tamal de elote here is also the best I've had in NJ! Yummmmmmmy!
