These folks are amazing. I called them to get urgent help for me door-eating dog, and they came…read moreover that same day to meet him. By the end of the week they had him on a schedule, walking 3 times a week for a half hour, to train him to walk on a leash. Once he can do that (which may take a while, he's hard-headed :)) he is going to go on adventure walks with them, which are basically long hikes with 2-3 dogs at a time, that completely tire your pooch out. I have two walkers that work with my dog, and they are both awesome. They send me an email after every walk, with pictures of my dog and a progress report of how he's doing. They also are bonded and insured, and offer to keep keys to the house so they can come in while you are at work and exercise the pooch. And get this- it's $20 for the walk... and $5 for every extra 15 mins! And that is for one or two dogs... very reasonable. So much so that I can definitely afford the 3 days a week walking, and seeing my puppy so happy at the end of the day is worth it. Love these guys.

UPDATE: 7/23/17: I'm…read morewriting an update to this review 7 years later, still as a loyal client of Canine Adventure. Unfortunately, my 3 boys (Ozzy, Tyler, and Bono) have since passed away, but my 2 new pups (Cannon and Hollywood) are still regular adventurers. They get to go hiking and swimming with Marti every couple of weeks - with Cannon generally finding some enormous stick or piece of trash to keep him entertained and Holly swimming laps in the river and playing chase with other dogs. They always come home happy and tired. There is a review posted from someone named "Matin" (which I assume is made up as it is a brand new account and contains false information) that says someone from Richmond Boxer Rescue steered him away from CA. I am the founder and president of RBR and a loyal client for almost 10 years now. Many of my fosters and volunteers use them and love them as well. NO ONE from my organization knows who this person is or said anything negative about CA, so that is a blatant lie. Review from 2010: I cannot say enough good things about Josh and Canine Adventure! Aside from actually being able to sometimes make my boxer, Ozzy, slightly tired (a nearly impossible feat), Josh was always reliable, responsible and ended up being a good friend! My own dogs (Ozzy, Tyler and Bono) were lucky to get Adventure Walks with him every week! The highlight of their week was seeing Josh pull up in front of the house! In addition to working with my own dogs, Josh graciously worked with my many fosters through Richmond Boxer Rescue. He donates his time to several other local rescue groups as well. The walks and training were an invaluable asset to the foster dogs as were the AMAZING photos he would take on the walks! We moved to the west coast but would still be loyal clients if we were in Richmond! I so wish there were a service like this available here!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO HANDLE THE AT HOME EUTHANASIA OF YOUR PET…read more I made the mistake of booking Dr. Jaime Pickett on CodaPet to handle the at home euthanasia of my beloved cat, Pookie, and I deeply regret that decision. Dr. Jaime came to my house and performed the euthanasia on schedule, so I initially believed that Pookie would be in good hands and that the aftercare would be smooth sailing -- boy, was I mistaken!! After the appointment, Dr. Pickett took Pookie's body with her and didn't provide any details to me about the expected timing for receiving Pookie's ashes. She also didn't provide me with any details about the crematorium where Pookie would be taken and didn't explain to me whether the clay paw print or tuft of fur that I ordered would be handled by her or by the crematorium. The lack of information made it extremely difficult for me to follow up on Pookie's cremation and the mementos that I ordered. I had to call CodaPet MULTIPLE times in order to have someone reach out to Dr. Jaime to get her to contact me so I could let her know that I had questions and concerns about my order (including for a urn charm that I initially ordered and wanted a refund for and Dr. Jaime claimed she hadn't charged me for it (but she did) so I had to follow up again for a refund). I also had to contact CodaPet multiple times to receive information about Pookie's cremation and the timing, which Dr. Jaime did not provide me. Eventually I found out the name of the crematorium (Agape) and they were great and very communicative and gave me all of the information I needed about Pookie's cremation. They also mentioned to me that Dr. Jaime did NOT include a clay paw print or tuft of fur on my order form so they did not do that before cremating my cat. Of course, this startling revelation TRAUMATIZED me and I followed up with CodaPet IMMEDIATELY to have Dr. Jaime contact me. Dr. Jaime then belatedly explained that she handles the clay paw prints and tuft of fur herself for "quality control" to ensure "good quality". Almost 3 weeks later, I finally received Pookie's ashes. Dr. Jaime told me she would hand Pookie's ashes back to me directly, but of course she didn't follow through with what she said and instead she callously left Pookie's ashes with a receptionist downstairs in my building's leasing office about 15 minutes before 11am (notwithstanding the fact that I told her I had a work call until 11am and she agreed to meet me downstairs at 11am). When I opened the bag with Pookie's ashes, it became apparent to me why Dr. Jaime chose to leave my baby's ashes with the receptionist instead of handing them to me as she promised -- the clay paw print that I was so desperately yearning for was nothing like I would've imagined. When I looked at the dirty clay that she used, I instantly had a feeling that Dr. Jaime probably reused some old clay. In fact, the clay even has random scribbles and markings on it that have nothing to do with my cat, which leads me to believe this is reused clay. (SEE PHOTOS ATTACHED) By providing awful customer service and an AWFUL clay paw print that I can't even keep due to it looking filthy, Dr. Pickett not only disrespected me, but she also robbed me of the one lasting memory I would've otherwise had of my cat's paw print. I cannot recommend CodaPet's or Dr. Pickett's services to anyone. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

I am actually a bit surprised with the previous customer reviews…read more We used CodaPet after receiving this referral from our vets office. The point of contact was very friendly and sensitive to our situation with regards to our 17 year old dog. The vet that was scheduled to come to our home contacted us immediately and was so wonderful. Her kindness and genuine compassion was comforting for our entire family. Dr. Jennifer Holman was her name, and to our good fortune, she actually treats animals at our pets veterinary office, which is Ashcreek Animal Clinic, in Ashland VA. Dr. Holman guided us step by step of her procedures, and Barney had a tranquil passing. I can't say enough about how incredible she was with our family, and most importantly, our beloved Barney. We are at peace knowing Barney is in a better place, where he can run after the balls and hike through the woods, taking in all of natures smells.

Update 2: I received a brusque email telling me that they…read morehad already sent me an email and changed my service day. Now mind you, they can blow up my phone with multiple text messages AND phone calls on the days they show up, but they couldn't call or text when they took it upon themselves to change my day and skip a week? I went back and read that email. They didn't ask if it was okay with me, they just stated they were "required" to change my service day. The day they chose isn't convenient for me as the folks who mow my lawn would be walking in a week's worth of poop, so I cancelled. The option to choose my service day was a huge factor in me giving this company a try. They even told me I could change my day any time I wanted, but now they're telling me they only have one day a week they're willing to do the service, and that I can't change it. Update: I did send an email as requested but I was simply told my service would start up again on a different day of the week. No explanation for why a week was skipped and no explaining why they wanted to change my service day from the one I chose. This is problematic as I need to coordinate based on when the lawn mowing company comes. Service was great the first two weeks. But yesterday, I expected my third weekly visit and nobody came, nobody called. At 6:00 pm I called and spoke to a woman at their customer service number who said she would pass my message along. Haven't heard a thing. No calls, no texts, nothing. I'd really like to use the service and Chris did a great job, but it's like they've vanished. At least they didn't bill me for this week. Poop911, if you're out there, we'd be happy to see you again!
