This company is a joke! I ordered a $1200 bathroom vanity, it was scheduled to be delivered on October 25, 2024 to my house that is under construction. I happened to drive by the house late in the afternoon on October 18th & saw a large box that was left in the middle of the driveway, right in the middle of the construction area. Upon examining the box, I found the box to be torn up and damaged. I pulled the cardboard back away from to vanity & saw that there was a large hole punched through the cabinet and scratches all over it. The bill of lading was left on top of the box held down by a piece of wood from the construction site. I called Central Transport on Monday, October 21st as they are not open on weekends. I was told that they had a "call off" on Friday the 18th, that the driver should have called me prior to delivery as it was earlier than scheduled, and that the driver was inexperienced and would be sent for more training. I told them that they need to come and pick up the vanity as it is in the way of my house construction. They told me that they don't do that since the item was "accepted" at the delivery site. I explained to them that it was not accepted but rather just left at my address while no one is living there. I got absolutely NO HELP in solving this issue. All they did was tell me how sorry that they were. Now it's up to me to get this thing returned. Do not use this company. They are pure trash. All they do is try to blame others for their incompetence. I wish I could have given zero stars...... zero integrity, zero professionalism, zero accountability, zero customer service! read more

Used Central Transport to ship an item. Item was damaged beyond repair during transit. Central Transport placed damaged item on new skid then re-wrapped the package to conceal the damage cause by them and delivered the package. I would never use them again and i would recommend that other use another shipping company also. Called corporate customer service and was greeted with attitude and denial. Claims department will not return calls or respond to emails. They are denying all responsibility. Horrible place to do business with. read more

I'd give negative stars if I could. Ordered a new bathtub for a renovation/ insurance claim from a home improvement store. Central Transport thought it was acceptable to deliver a smashed up box that looked like it rolled end over end a few times and stabbed with a lift. The tub was not only cracked all the way through but also had several large holes. Their "customer service" was rude and not even a little bit helpful. The driver had the nerve to say it was "just the outside" and "still usable." I currently have a claim and a case open about this. read more

I wish there was a zero Star.... The package came destroyed and my cabinet completely destroyed. Driver was rude and wanted to leave it on the street in front of my office and did not want to bring it in although I have a ramp and he had a huge hand held forklift dolly. Once he finally after a huge attitude brought up the ramp instead of using the dolly to bring it in, he pulled it off and dragged the wood pallet it was sitting on literally across my lobby floors and destroyed my brand new floors. I refused to sign and then he asked my name. I see many reviews that false signatures are given stating it is in good condition. Home Depot is taking care of the cabinet but who is going to take care of my floors!!! What is worse is my entire office was done in the same cabinets and the one that is destroyed was the last one and they no longer have them. CT showed up on my dock and took an item I had scheduled to ship out with UPS Freight. I had nothing going out for CT, there was no reason for them to even be on my dock. CT put their tracking sticker on the UPS Freight BOL and left with the item. I find out the next morning what happened and CT had taken the item all the way to the destination terminal. A CSR from CT called and told me I had to pay for the delivery before it would be released or returned. My shipment was stolen and now being held for ransom. I spent most of my day trying to climb the customer service ladder with not much luck. I stayed polite and calm with everyone I spoke with, but was met with resistance and rudeness. I will not give names of all the bad CSR's, but will say I had a pleasant experience with Ryan (CSR), Lisa (CSR Manager), and Kelly (Driver Collect). The rest of them were pretty awful. read more

I bought a drum full of grease and unfortunately the company shipped it via Central Transport. They damaged the drum during shipment. When the driver dropped the drum off at our location we unloaded it and he left the paperwork by our door and he took off quickly without us ever signing for it. The driver signed for it or someone else did with a number in their name! On top of that the drum was turned around and was damaged on one side. Central Transport said they could do nothing as it was signed (by their driver!) as being received in good condition. After sending multiple pictures of the damaged product after 90 days they sent mail back that stated the claim was rejected. Use this company at your own risk! read more

I contacted the company in an attempt to contact the safety department for the safety of the public; however, the company representative Chris told me that there is no safety department. I contacted the corporate office and ask for the office of the president but the individual, referring to herself only as the switchboard operator, became belligerent and refused to transfer the call. Absolutely awful! We used them to ship product and they broke/lost/destroyed 40 cases of our product and didn't mention it. They restacked the pallet all wonky and the driver was so brusque that when he dropped off the order, I mentioned that the pallet looked wrong but I didn't know for sure how much was missing/damaged. I flied a claim and they denied it because I didn't file paperwork with the driver (who when I said something was wrong didn't tell me I needed to file anything). We will NEVER use them again. They always come up the cheapest on brokerage quotes but DO NOT USE THEM. You will regret it. read more

Never, ever use Central Transport! I ordered a box blade from Kentucky and it made it all the way to Mt. Vernon, Wa, 50 miles from my home, and sat there for 3 weeks. Every day they changed the delivery date to the next day-17 times! They never delivered it and I had to file for a refund. No one answers their phones and their e-mail responses were stock replies. Lousy business practices, blatant liars, and a completely incompetent transport company, they absolutely don't give a damn about you or your delivery. What has happened to our world that businesses like this can continue doing this kind of nonsense? Thank God I purchased through ebay who has a guaranteed money back policy. What a joke! read more

They lose freight, will not begin to process a lost freight claim until 10 business days after the expected delivery date of that freight, they will take 30 days to respond to your claim, and then an additional 90 days to finish processing it. At the end of it all, they will not compensate you the full value of the freight they lost. Do not work with this company, they will jeopardize your business. read more

It seems that Central don't care about the customers, our shipments were either partial missing (few items) or whole pallet, or delivery late and damage. If you're considering Central Transport to deliver anything of value, you'd better think twice. They delivered a $12,000.00 Outboard motor for me and when I received it, the box, properly fastened to a wooden platform, looked like it had been hit several times by a sledge hammer. The cowling of the motor that was practically new, was damaged. At first, they denied an insurance claim, then, after reviewing my protest, they sent me a check for $55.50 for a $1,996.00 replacement because they said a "used" item is only worth .55 cents a pound. Again, think twice, I personally wouldn't use these guys to deliver flowers, let alone something of much value. read more

WORST carrier EVER!!!! Delivered an unwrapped pallet missing the packing slip. We signed the bill of lading indicating this. At the time of delivery we could not determine what was short because Central Transport lost the packing slip. We and contacted the shipper to obtain a replacement packing slip. Once the replacement packing slip arrived we determined that we were actually short two pieces. Two days later Kyle at Central Transport calls and asks if we could send them our copy of the bill of lading as their driver "lost" his copy! Then Central Transport denied the claim as we did not sign the bill of lading showing exactly how many pieces we were short! At the time of delivery we could not determine what was short because Central Transport lost the packing slip! Over the past several years Central Transport has delivered many damaged shipments. Each time they deny the claims. ALL of our vendors have been informed that should they attempt to use Central Transport, their merchandise will be refused at our dock. read more

AVOID Central Transport completely unless you like a steady diet of "I'm sorry" whenever you talk with their national Customer Service phone line & national Delivery Appointments phone line when the information they previously told you turns out not to be true - which is all of the time!!! On May 20, 2019, I ordered 5 boxes of tile from Home Depot. On May 22, 2019, I was notified via an email from Home Depot that "your order has shipped" from its point of origin in Sunnyvale, TX with an "expected delivery" date to me in Reston, VA on Thursday May 30. This email also contained a tracking number hotlink to the carrier, Central Transport (Home Depot's contract trucking company) where I could "Trace Shipment." Central Transport's "Trace Shipment" didn't work until May 29, 2019 at which time I learned why: They didn't pick up our shipment on May 22 as advised by Home Depot. They picked it up on May 28, 2019 per their Bill of Lading - 6 days later with no explanation or apology offered. When I advised Central Transport of Home Depot's shipping & expected delivery dates, the Customer Service rep. stated that: Oh that's them; they have their information, we have ours; we're not bound by what they say. Of course now the May 30th "expected delivery" date has been delayed to an "estimated delivery" date of June 3, then to June 4, then to actual delivery on June 7, 2019 by another trucking company as Central Transport off-loaded my shipment to another company without bothering to let me know beforehand. On Saturday June 1, 2019, our shipment of tile finally arrived at Central Transport's Fredericksburg location (about 67 miles from us) -- the last leg of the journey from Sunnyvale,Texas.The shipment arrived on June 1 at 8:07 AM (per Central's Trace Shipment web page as of 6/1/19 at 10:25 AM). No, it arrived at 1:37 AM (per Central's Trace Shipment web page as of 6/1/19 at 10:19 PM) - i.e., 2 different times noted for the same shipment & arrival date. Either way, "Estimated Delivery" was supposed to be on Monday June 3. But it can't be Monday because Central Transport is closed on Saturday; so no one at the Fredericksburg location or anywhere else will be calling to schedule for Monday. On 6/3/19 at 8:12 AM, I learned via email from Customer Service that our shipment "is currently pending an appointment" and "you were just transferred over to our appointments team for scheduling." On 6/3 & 6/4, I also learned from national Customer Service & Delivery Appointments respectively that no one could reach Fredericksburg. It's a 1-person operation & that person also makes deliveries. So they just added another person at this location. No further word on 6/3/19 as to WHEN we'll receive our shipment. On June 4, 2019, I called Customer Service & was transferred to the Delivery Appointments Department where I was advised verbally & then via email that "... your delivery for the shipment below is scheduled for tomorrow 6/5 between the hours of 9-3." SUPER RIGHT? IF ONLY... On 6/5, I waited for our curbside delivery, even sat outside so as to not miss the truck. NO TRUCK; NO PHONE CALL THAT I'M EN ROUTE ETA is.... ZERO! I called Customer Service & Delivery Appointments on 6/5 to ask what's up & learned that our shipment had been off-loaded to another trucking company called National Delivery Systems & taken to this company's terminal in Henrico, VA (aka Richmond terminal)! "I'm sorry you didn't know." Ah, but what about the email that says I'd receive my shipment today - i.e., ..."your delivery for the shipment below is scheduled for tomorrow 6/5 between the hours of 9-3." Their reply: the email doesn't say guaranteed. "I'm sorry." So now my shipment is no longer 67 miles away; it's now about 123 miles away. Central Transport added that once National Delivery Systems logs our shipment into their system, they'll call me -- probably on 6/6/19 to schedule a date & approximate time to deliver our shipment. Rather than wait, on 6/6/19 I checked National Delivery System's Tracking page - nothing; so I called National Delivery System's Henrico location & learned that my shipment isn't at this location, nor will it arrive at this location because they don't serve any further north than Stafford, VA. We're further north in Reston, VA! Fortunately, the terminal manager at Henrico kindly confirmed for me that National Delivery System's Columbia, MD. location serves my area, will fetch my shipment from Fredericksburg & deliver it to us no later than the day after it arrives in Columbia, MD. I saw that it was logged into their system in the evening of 6/6. And true to their word, we finally received it on 6/7. read more

Central Transport is the worst company we ever worked with! They have very poor customer service and horrible claim department!! On June 23, 2021 their driver damaged our pallets and there was some boxes missing when our customer received his order. We made a claim and sent them pictures of the damaged boxes and informed them of the missing boxes along with all the documentation they requested such as the invoice and the inspection form. And since then we haven't heard nothing from anyone! We tried calling several times and emailed them and till this day we have no closure. Every time we contact customer service they tell us that the claim department does not have a direct phone number where we can reach them, the only way is to email them! even with emails no one is getting back to us! We are losing our customers because of their poor business. We having the worst experience with Central Transport, we will not deal with you in the future nor recommend them to anyone. read more

We really would like to give no stars to Central Transport. We have been using Central transport for years and thought we built a relationship with their freight company. We set up for a normal shipment to go to one of our customers and they picked up the freight and they took possession of our material and damaged it in the freight process. They tried to deliver a pile of garbage to our customer. They acknowledged that they damaged the material with no question. When the material was rejected and when we sent the claim with all information correct, they said they will not cover the cost of the damaged product. They also charged us for the freight cost in which damaged the material in the first place. I would definitely think twice before using Central Transport. read more

Central Transport - Markham, IL, local terminal serving NW Indiana * Low pricing, even lower quality service. * Personnel courtesy - Good. This goes for CT's main office, Markham, Illinois terminal, and local driver. * On-time pickup - 2 shipments, both picked up on scheduled day. * On-time delivery - Out of 10 shipments for receipt, 1 was within the given 2 or 3 hour window. A couple were a few hours late, (no notice given but not too much of an issue), another 5 or 6 missed the scheduled day and had to be rescheduled repeatedly, again no prior notice given by CT. Another was LOST. * Damaged goods - Of the 9 shipments actually received, 8 were in good order and one was damaged but not enough to bother with a claim. Being used, the medical instrument damage claim would have been at the CT rate of around $0.02/ lb. * Dependability - Besides that already mentioned, CT LOST a 48x42x48" pallet of medical devices with a retail value of $6k and even on eBay, $3k. Items were all new, and given CT's max reimbursement rate for medical items, reimbursement was only $400. I paid considerably more for the goods and also for CT's shipping cost. CT refused to return the shipping cost, claiming the $400 included the shipping cost. (So if the shipping cost were $600 for a 200 lb new medical device shipment, CT claims its liability would be limited to $400. This could make it quite profitable for CT to lose a shipment, pay a claim at a diminished rate, and sell the item as unclaimed or damaged freight at a substantial profit.) After not having received this for 1.5 weeks, I called CT, (generally, CT will not let the customer talk with the local dispatcher), to inquire about the shipment. Every business day for about 1.5 months CT said the item was scheduled for shipment that or the following day. CT took about a month to pay my claim (and never returned my freight bill payment to them through my broker). I asked for a police report on the lost pallet but CT never responded. As a result, I plan to sue CT for gross negligence for this loss. Of more than 2000 shipments over 15, I had never experienced a totally lost shipment until I used CT. Regarding loses whether insured or not, CT has dozens of exceptions to the standard tariffs schedule. If the driver was a fill-in, or the tractor was a contractor to CT, onck, sorry, SOL for reimbursement. I am no lawyer but this is the way CT's fine print looks to me. * Questionable practices - One shipment included items on two pallets; one was delivered, one was not. The CT Driver wanted me to sign as if the delivery was complete. On another occasion, a shipment was left in the middle of a parking lot without notice and no signature. That was the last time I used CT. (I guess I should have filed a claim for non-delivery.) read more
