Nick was an excellent instructor. Great knowledge to answer any and all questions yet gives you your freedom to let loose. Very safe experience for my first time shooting a bow! I was looking for the perfect outdoor Archery Range, thanks to Yelp I found what I was looking for. I sent an email asking about coming to the range because I already have a bow with some experience. Within 24 hours I received a response saying that I should come to a "First Time Class" and if all goes well I would be able to get a membership. I signed up for a class for me and hubby. I figured this could be a Saturday date for us. I noticed after signing up that they have a Groupon, but I decided to pay the regular price, no biggie. We arrived on Saturday on time and the instructors and one of the owners was there. Everything looked like it was set up and ready to go. There was a total of 9 participants there. Hmm, this would be a good idea for my hubby to present to his boss for their monthly team building events. When checking in Jessica was very friendly and gave us the history of Central Texas Archery and future plans. Right on the dot, we were all in a short orientation of what bow we would be using and the rules of the road. The instructors Addie and Tyler are experienced archers. They were professional and funny. They made class fun and they were excellent with assisting us with executing our bows. This place is good for dates, groups and family outings. We had a great time and plan on becoming members and I will be getting a new bow - a recurve bow! read more

This was an awesome family activity! Took my 3 kids to shoot in the First Time class and after 20 min of safety rules and equipment set-up, we were shooting for over an hour. One of my kids got too tired and the one that didn't want to go was the one who did the best and even scored a 53 out of 60. The instructor, Jess, was awesome and membership is affordable. The best part is they provide EVERYTHING! Seriously considering getting into it myself. read more

I surprised my husband with his first archery lesson at this location. It was fun and cold! Lol. When our time was up we were ready to go because our hands and fingers were frozen. BUT we had a blast. I would recommend checking them out. The instructors were great and knowledgeable! And since they kept the groups small we were able to social distance! We will try it again one day. Also side note, they offer a very reasonable yearly price so you can stop by anytime and have a lesson. I suggest to inquire about it. I had some family in town and we decided to spend a few hours to try out archery. It was such a great decision! There was 5 of us in the group and they were very accommodating. It was a very affordable activity and a great way to spend 1.5 hours. Jessica is very helpful and enthusiastic, she helped us pick the gear (which is included in the price). The gear by the way is new and easy to use. The group age range was from 31 to 14 and all of us were pretty new to archery. Quinn walked us through knocking the arrow, shooting, aiming. She's only 18! But so very knowledgeable. 10/10 would do it again :) read more

Everyone here is so nice and you can tell the staff members are passionate about the sport. They provide sanitized equipment for lessons or for practice shooting for members. TL;DR: A lot of fun, very relaxed and chill class led by very friendly instructors at a very affordable price ($18 for two people from Groupon, $20 per person regularly). A lot of cool events and opportunities for members as well!! You need to check them out! I found Central Texas Archery on Groupon and took my boyfriend this past week. The class was super fun and super engaging. I was worried that it would be a lot of sitting around listening to instructions and not a lot of actual archery, but I was wrong! The coach, Tyler, is a competitive archer and was very quick with the around 10 minute safety instructions before we went out to the range. I'm not sure how big the classes usually are (my guess is the max is 8 because there was room for 4 targets and there was two people shooting per target), but our class only had 4 people which was amazing! It was even manageable for the around 9 year old child that was in the group full of adults. Tyler allowed us to have a competition between the four of us towards the end of the class, but we asked for that and it could've just as easily been a very relaxed and chill session where you just shoot for fun. I think it would be a great place for a group of friends to go to book a class or to go on your own and make friends! Also, believe it or not, very cool for kids (but probably more fun for those who have more developed hand-eye coordination). Everyone was so friendly. My boyfriend said that he would have preferred getting very specific instructions on form, etc. and Tyler was more than willing to help him out with that. For those of us that just wanted to shoot, however, he was more than happy to leave us alone (as long as it didn't put anyone's safety at risk). Central Texas Archery just opened up in the fall of last year, and I can't wait to see them grow and flourish. The only slight feedback that my boyfriend and I had leaving was that we thought the instructors could have been a little bit more professional - at some points Tyler was making fun of us, and some of the jokes cracked between them were a little inappropriate for a professional setting. However, we recognize this is a growing business and we were helping create that kind of atmosphere, I just think it's important to keep in mind as you widen your clientele that not everyone will respond well to that kind of relationship. Overall, we had a great time, and we would have totally been up for becoming members if we thought we had the time to make use of it (it was such a sweet deal! $50 for the year, although I think they mentioned it would be increasing shortly, for access to the range once a week and a t-shirt!). The Groupon was very affordable and easy to redeem ($18 for two people if I remember correctly), but even the class cost ($20 per person per class) is not bad for all of the shooting and practice you get within the 1.5 hour class! read more
