Dr. Bates was very condescending and demeaning in my consultation…read more He was extremely sarcastic and had poor bedside manner. He continued to gripe about how my earring was in the way of all the images and would ask my why I could not open my mouth further. When I responded "it hurts" he did not seem to care at all that I was in pain. As far as the earring goes it was fused closed and I have not been able to remove it since the wreck when I tried to explain that he continued to cut me off each and every time. I think I was cut off in mid sentence about 15 times through my consultation. My favorite was when her personally insulted me when I did not understand a question. I was trying to clarify and instead just got insults dished at me the entire time. Even if he was the only specialist I would rather deal with the pain than see him. He lacks empathy and should take a course on bedside manners. He even quizzed me about how I obtained my dental molds and such and when I told him he dismissed That Explanation. He also told me that everything was in alignment and my retainers should fit... but they do not. Never did he even have me put them on To even check. This accident I was in was extremely traumatic and has impacted multiple portions of my life. I did not need to be treated by him poorly on top of everything else I have to deal with. The only reason this review gets 1 star is because he staff was very pleasant. I should have listened to the recent terrible google reviews on his office. I would also like to mention that I was there 12 minutes before my appointment time and still had to wait 20 minutes past my scheduled time.

I went in today to the Mint Uptown location for an annual checkup with a cleaning and was VERY pleased with my experience! Upon check in, Danna was kind and helpful. My dental assistant was Brigham who did a wonderful job. He had such a great attitude! My dental hygienist was Taylor and she was gentle, yet thorough. Dr. Spence had excellent bedside manner and was able to take care of a chipped filling same day. I am very grateful these people work at my new Mint location! :)

It feels like the "Cheesecake Factory" of dental offices--quick in and out but lacking quality. The staff is often new and inexperienced, resulting in a high turnover rate. Additionally, the reception service is not very hospitable. I highly recommend avoiding Mint Dental at any of their locations based on my initial experience. It's not worth the high-pressure tactics they use to discourage cancellations. I chose this quick-service dental office because I had a limited time left on my insurance before switching providers, but ultimately, the hassle of dealing with them overshadowed the convenience of a cleaning appointment.

I cannot recommend Dr. Wallace and his team highly enough…read more I've now had two oral surgeries with Dr. Wallace, and after both experiences I can say with complete confidence that he is one of the most compassionate, skilled, and genuinely caring physicians I've ever had the privilege of seeing. My first experience with him was when I was in excruciating dental pain and desperately needed an appointment. I was honestly starting to have those "tie a string around the tooth and slam the door" thoughts because the pain was so unbearable. Despite his busy schedule, he saw me immediately and had me scheduled for surgery that same week. I have significant dental anxiety, an extensive dental history, and a true dental phobia after previous negative experiences. Somehow, Dr. Wallace recognized how anxious I was without me having to say much. He took the time to answer every question, addressed every concern I had, and never once made me feel rushed. His calm, reassuring demeanor completely changed what I expected to be a terrifying experience. The day of surgery couldn't have gone more smoothly. His surgical staff was exceptional--kind, compassionate, and incredibly reassuring from start to finish. Later that evening, Dr. Wallace personally texted me to check on how I was doing. He was also quick to respond when I had questions after surgery, even later in the evening, and I was genuinely touched when I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers wishing me a speedy recovery. Those gestures may seem small, but they spoke volumes about the kind of physician he is. Unfortunately, a few days ago I found myself back in his office after breaking another tooth completely at the gum line while eating pizza. I was once again in excruciating pain and assumed I'd have to wait days to be seen. Instead, he squeezed me into his already packed schedule the very next day. Just like the first time, everything was outstanding. The surgery went smoothly, the staff was wonderful, and Dr. Wallace once again personally checked on me after the procedure. That level of care is incredibly rare these days. Beyond being an outstanding oral surgeon, Dr. Wallace is simply an exceptional human being. He has a calming presence, a wonderful sense of humor, and a way of making an experience that most people dread feel so much less intimidating. For someone with dental anxiety, that means more than I can put into words. I've had an extensive dental journey over the years--at one point alone I had 54 dental appointments in a single year with various providers. Because of that, I have a pretty good basis for comparison when I say that Dr. Wallace truly stands out. His technical skill is excellent, but what makes him exceptional is the compassion, empathy, and genuine concern he shows every patient. If you're looking for an oral surgeon who is not only highly skilled but also treats you with kindness, respect, and humanity, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Dr. Wallace. I'm incredibly grateful I found him.

I do not recommend this office. I called because of the strong Yelp reviews, but unfortunately, my…read moreexperience was the opposite. This was a one-minute phone call, and it was enough to turn me off. I explained that we had already done a consultation with another oral surgeon in Saginaw and were shocked by their request for $2,000 upfront, which is why I was calling around for options. Before I could even explain further, the woman immediately cut in with, "Wisdom teeth removal is $4,000-$6,000," which felt dismissive and rushed. When I asked how that could apply to an insured patient--since in-network providers are limited to insurance-allowed amounts--she clarified that was the cash price, not the insured price. I explained that we have insurance and even dual dental coverage. She then told me they only bill the primary insurance, expect patients to pay the balance up front, and require the patient to file the secondary insurance themselves. While this may be common with some private dental offices in DFW, that doesn't make it reasonable. National dental groups understand how to bill properly by submitting both insurance plans and only collecting what they reasonably expect the final patient balance to be. In our case, that meant going from being asked to pay $2,000 upfront elsewhere to paying $300 upfront, with the expectation that the full amount would likely be refunded once secondary insurance processed. When I declined to continue the conversation, her response was a cold, uninterested "Have a good day." No explanation, no attempt to discuss options, and no effort to retain a potential patient. I never even got to this office's actual pricing because I was being rushed off the phone. For comparison, I contacted Monarch Dental, and the experience was night and day. They reviewed both insurance plans over the phone, gave a clear explanation, and booked my son's surgery in under 48 hours. The surgeon's reviews were excellent, and the process was seamless. We're now booked and moving forward--but this office lost a potential customer due to poor communication and lack of patient care. Final recommendation: if you have secondary insurance or want clear billing and options, proceed with caution here. National dental groups offer a far smoother, more patient-centered experience.
