I think Dr. Sergie is a good dentist. BUT his cancellation fees are astronomical! $225 if you don't cancel 7 days ahead. Other places are more considerate and use a 3-2 days cancellation policy. Looking for somebody else. read more

This office overcharges for services (they overcharge insurance and patients). Never mentioned the charges until I got hit with a bill. They charged hundreds of dollars to my insurance and $90 to me for a TEETH CLEANING! No apology or concern at all, for poor communication and customer service. I only did preventative care here, so can't comment on the quality of procedures. After I posted this review, Dr. Sergie is harassing me with emails defending their actions, even after I asked to not to contact me anymore, and taken my business elsewhere. Once again, no apology or admission of poor communication practices, nor promise to change them. Basically saying that it's my bad that I didn't know about the charges. This review stands, because it's my opinion, and it is accurate. P.S. after reading a handful other reviews on here, it seems like overcharging is a common practice here. But they don't just overcharge patients - I saw what they charged my insurance too. That smells like insurance claim fraud. read more

Dr. Sergie and his staff are awesome! My first visit was in December of last year for a cleaning. Dr. Sergie met with me for consultation, then Erica did the cleaning. She was friendly and gentle; I could tell she was thorough while she was cleaning (I appreciated that since I'm a perfectionist!). I came back again this week to have a very old and cracked filling replaced. Again, I was impressed with the time that Dr. Sergie spent with me, explaining the procedure, observations, etc. The actual procedure was easy (for me) and painless (surprisingly for a dental visit). My consultation included my cosmetic concerns of my chompers. Doc showed me some impressive before/after photos of cosmetic work he's done in the past, so I'll definitely be back for more work. I would give zero stars if I could. I had a procedure done here and just like all of the other reviews they over charge and are not transparent in their practice at all. They try to sell you expensive toothpaste and mouthwash that is severely over priced and nothing special. Instead of charging just for the procedure they claimed that I needed to come back to be checked and tried to charged me for follow up appointments that were completely unnecessary. Stay away from this place as you will be ripped off and then harassed when you don't want to pay for a bundle of services that you don't need. This person dentist should be reported for ethics and insurance fraud. read more

Upon making my appointment, I asked if they were an in network provider. I requested that call and figure out what was covered by my dental plan through insurance. Upon my arrival, I was told they they called and -verified- that insurance would cover 100%. I got a balance from my insurance, that was pretty hefty and so confused... I called the insurance company. Upon calling, I discover that they are,in fact, NOT an in network provider!!! So not only was there dishonesty there (they had been out of network for over 40days at that point, so they would have known) but they also could not have possibly called and verified the pre-authorization of treatments or they would have known they were no longer in network with my insurance. Either way, there was dishonesty on some level whether it was about being in network or about calling and verifying and I don't patronize businesses who behave as such. I am also just really disappointed because I never would have come here, knowing they were not accepting the insurance that I already pay for. I was looking forward to being doing with my dentist search but I cannot stay here, since they are not an in network provider. read more

This practice is pretty and the service was alright. I came about 1.5 months ago to get my teeth clean, called several practices here in Dallas (Im a new to the area) and asked if they took my insurance. They informed me that they did so I booked the cleaning. I love coming to the dentist. And I love getting my teeth cleaned. This practice took detail pictures of my teeth and did all the X-rays. The hygienist was good, but one thing she did that I wasn't familiar with... she applied Fluoride to my teeth before cleaning them. Every other time I've had my teeth cleaned this was the last and final step after the cleaning. After the cleaning I sat with the doctor (who NEVER made eye contact with me and the best I can explain him is as awkward) as he told me all the flaws in my teeth, he knew I had Invisalign in the past and that I wasn't happy with my results. He also told me that I needed to have my metal fillings replace and that I needed a night guard. The front desk staff would be with me to discuss options and the total. I expressed that I didn't want to spend $500 a night guard if I was going to have my teeth looked at by the orthodontist but they still sent me home with a devise to measure my teeth grinding. I felt unsure about this practice from this point in. But I set up the appointment for the fillings to be replaced the entire time I was told my deductible was $25 and that my insurance would cover the rest of the procedure. When I arrive at my appointment to have the fillings replaced I told them that I didn't need the night guard again as they had text me in regards to the devise the sent me home with last time. The receptionist then handed me a bill for my appointment today telling me that I will owe almost $300 for my appointment today cause they were not in network. When I ask why that wasn't disclosed prior to my first appointment the girl stated that she informed me of that when came the first time. This was never disclosed. And every time I've dealt with this practice I have felt as though they are trying to over charge and over diagnose for services that they provide. They don't inform patients of their insurance cost vs coverage. Be aware when coming to this place. Make sure you ask all the questions regarding billing and make sure they are in network. All and all I think they just to make the most amount to money off Every patient possible rather that providing the appropriate amount of care. They over deliver and OVER CHARGE! read more

Dr. Sergy is great! I loathe going to the dentist as I am sure most people do, but he makes you feel very comfortable. His staff is super friendly and I only had to wait about ten minutes when they were short staffed. Also, if you are ever out of toothpaste, just go get your teeth cleaned, you end up waling out with about six months worth of toothpaste!!! read more

Seriously, I've had dentists ignore me when I said I was in pain, he did not; I'm also anxious and it manifests sometimes...I appreciate consideration. That being said, he can be intense when he's really in the zone...but I suppose this is a good thing...you don't want him too terribly distracted with a drill in his hand. + Cost: He freaking sucks because he doesn't accept my insurance. Ensure you verify because initially I was told he was an in network provider, and was a little shocked when I had to pay out of pocket; but I chalked it up as miscommunication and moved forward. I have shelled out several hundred despite this. I want to support him because I trust that he's going to do an enduring, fantastic job...and of course, make me a YouTube star. I'm a little upset about the practice that In focus established with informing patients. Have you ever heard the term " Bait and switch" well , In 2015 they were in network with our insurance company ( Met Life) Yet, went out of network and didn't tell us in 2016. So, I find out by only investigating " Why my wife's two teeth fillings cost so much. Don't get me wrong ! We got great dental work done here. The problem is our dental insurance only pays $2400 max a year and we already met about $2000 only because we were bill out of network and were never told. Very deceptive! Please verify with your insurance before going here so the same doesn't happen to you. read more

He walked me through his recommendations and time frames which are pretty realistic. His office is the perfect location and easy parking considering its in the Quadrangle. Terrible experience here. Prior to my first appointment, I was asked to provide (in writing) my credit card number on the new patient paperwork. Clearly, I refused to give it. I asked the dentist directly once I arrived why he wanted that information. He told me, it was in case there are other charges for services not covered by insurance. I found that to be sketchy. Oddly enough, about a month after the appointment, I received a call saying I owed them nearly 200 dollars for XRAYS they performed. Reality is, I didn't need XRAYS because I'd already had them with my previous dentist less than six months prior, but the office never verified the benefit or made efforts to pull the XRAYS from my previous dentist, although that info was provided. Prior to leaving my appointment, I was charged an addition 50+ dollars for mouthwash, that I didn't ask for, and ultimately served to be nothing better than what I could get in any store. Just because of the geographic convenience, I scheduled a second appointment. After fielding the excessive emails and text messages reminding me of the appointment, I showed up on time- only to sit there for a half an hour. I then informed the (extremely polite) person at the counter that I was leaving and taking my business elsewhere. read more

I never knew it was possible to love a dental office, but In Focus is amazing!! I happened upon them by pure coincidence, when my crown fell out soon after I moved to Dallas. It's not easy to find a dental office that is accepting new patients, let alone one that can accommodate emergency procedures next-day, but Dr. Sergie was all over it! The office is modern and plays excellent music (not your typical soul-crushing medical office schlock), the staff is super-friendly (they introduced me to my new favorite La Croix flavor: passionfruit for the win!!), and the dental care was beyond excellent. All of this, in a location right off of McKinney that's walkable from anywhere in Uptown. Do yourself a favor and go see the peeps at in Focus! Your mouth will thank you! read more

I never write reviews, but I had a terrible experience there. I was billed $800 to have my teeth cleaned and never found out what I needed. You have to make a return visit for that. I found it to be a glitzy marketing machine that is all about making money. I was sold expensive mouthwash that I did not need (based upon a real Dentist's opinion) and was also charged for teeth whitening trays that I did not receive or even have impressions made for. They did remove that after I demanded to see a statement and refused to pay them based upon the text messages they continued to send with my balance. I paid the amount that they charged for nothing - but am filling a formal complaint and inquiry with my insurance company. I'd say patient beware if you go here! read more

Not a fan at all...have you been to get your oil changed and they show you the filter so you feel like you need to change that too...that's how I felt here. On my first and only appointment they took very intrusive and uncomfortable polaroids of the inside of my mouth. At the end they showed me the pictures to make me feel like I had to get everything done immediately. Didn't like it, won't go back...please stop texting and calling me. read more

I've had a very positive experience at In Focus Dentistry. Dr. Sergie is very thorough and takes the time to explain the issues, causes and solutions to your dental problems. I was very impressed with his approach to dentristry as he asks a lot of questions to get a better picture of your overall health to check for other issues that might affect dental health and offers solutions.
