It was really unbelievable to me. I have not experienced this type of medical care in the city. Moet Copeland at the front desk went out of her way to assist me. In general, the doctors I've seen before were professional, kind, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, my visit on December 14, 2025 was very different. I was seen by a female provider whose name I was unable to get -- the front desk did not provide it, and she did not introduce herself. From the beginning, her attitude felt cold and dismissive. I clearly explained my situation and asked if it would be possible to prescribe medication in a slightly larger quantity, as I come to CityMD regularly and currently do not have insurance. I paid out of pocket for this visit. Instead of calmly explaining medical or policy limitations, the provider responded with visible irritation and a negative attitude, which made an already stressful situation worse. She could see that I was anxious and in a rush, yet the interaction felt unnecessarily tense. At the end of the visit, I was told that two medications would be prescribed. However, when I went to the pharmacy, I received only one tablet of one medication, and the antibiotic that was promised was not prescribed at all. This was extremely frustrating and confusing, especially since the clinic was already closing and I could not clarify the issue the same day. What upset me the most was not even the prescription mistake itself, but the lack of professionalism and empathy. In all my previous visits to CityMD, providers were respectful, patient, and supportive. This experience felt like an exception, and unfortunately a very unpleasant one. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously, because CityMD has always been a place I trusted -- and I would hate to see that trust affected by interactions like this.

I visited for a yellow fever vaccine, which involves a subcutaneous injection (administered into the fatty tissue beneath the skin). The injection site seemed a bit unusual (please see the attached picture), and later became inflamed, red, and swollen. I am planning to travel to Africa soon, and the doctor mentioned he would prescribe medication for traveler's diarrhea. However, when I went to the pharmacy, they gave me a prescription for malaria (something we had not discussed) and did not receive the Z-Pak prescription for traveler's diarrhea from the doctor's office. I had to return to the pharmacy the next day since they were closing.

Really recommend to not come here. The first issue is communication. It is nearly impossible to reach a live person. Most calls end up at a recording directing patients to the website, and the only reliable way I've found to get someone on the phone is sometimes through the billing office. For example i just tried to call twice because they mixed up my medication. It's 10:45am EST... full business working hours... and their answering machine said they will get back to me within 1 business day. The second issue is continuity of care. The office now seems to function as a revolving door of students and trainees. While I fully support medical education, it becomes frustrating when a different person handles every appointment and you have to repeat your entire medical history from scratch. Even more concerning, my patient information often appears to be incomplete or inaccurate despite multiple prior visits - again just this week completely mixed up dosages of medications I've been on for years, should clearly be on my sheet? On more than one occasion, I have received recommendations that seemed far more extreme than warranted for the issue being discussed. Follow-up is frequently promised but rarely happens. Never once getting a follow up call on outcome of test results. The biggest problem has been prescription management. I have been on the same medication for years and needed a routine refill. The prescription was not sent, which is something that has happened now multiple times. When I finally reached someone by phone, they proceeded to ask me (the patient) which medication and dosage I take because my chart apparently did not contain that information. Thankfully i obviously know what i take - but that should be confirmed and monitored by the doctor - after all that they sent in the wrong dosage to the pharmacy and doubled my daily medication. The lack of communication, poor recordkeeping, missed prescription requests, and inconsistent follow-up have made this practice difficult to trust with ongoing medical care.

I wasn't told at the time of service that I would be receiving two separate bills - 1 from the urgent care and another from a separate lab company - and thought that my insurance would cover my visit after I paid my deductible upfront before my visit. My insurance company told me that I needed to resolve the issue directly with the urgent care facility, not the lab company that they use. When I called this urgent care to quickly resolve the issue, I was given the runaround saying that no one could help me via phone and told that I needed to prepare a detailed written statement after which I'll likely be bounced around some more with no resolution. Do yourself a favor and go to CityMD by Queensboro Plaza instead. They have much better such service and a customer support team that's actually helpful.

It was the worst thing ever and I was not able to function at all...I dragged my corpse to see Dr. Chen and he diagnosed me with vestibular neuritis. He prescribed meclizine and started treating me with acupuncture. The acupuncture really helped with the dizziness and I started feeling better after a week. When I finally got an appointment to see a specialist at NYU they confirmed it was neuritis. My 4 y/o daughter was playing with her grandfather and he pulled her arm and partially dislocate her elbow (nursemaid's elbow). We weren't able to get her an appointment at her pediatrician, but luckily Dr. Chen able to treat her and move it back in place. I've also gotten acupuncture with Dr. Chen for pregnancy weight loss and also chronic neck/back pain from sitting and working on a computer all day. Aside from how good Dr. Chen is, I've been to a few other urgent cares in the neighborhood, and in all honesty, is one by far the best and the cleanest. They also call you the next day to check up on you.
