The hotel was clean, and the room was comfortable, but what made my stay 5* was the front desk staff member, D'Asia. She kept a positive attitude despite long lines of stressed-out folks waiting for the check-in, a smoke alarm going off, and the front door repeatedly opening, sending freezing air to the lobby. I have a background in hospitality, and some folks are just made for the work. When I saw D'Asia the next morning, she was still smiling and friendly. She was helpful to me, and this made me a Hyatt fan. Great hire, Hyatt.

Returned to stay here 12 years after giving it a 3 star review. My takeaway? This property is so…read moreoverpriced it's not funny. We paid nearly $700 a night for a 2 bedroom and it was very average quality at best. Some of the downsides: The TV's didn't work well, they were very laggy and had an unworkable interface. You'd hit the button and 10 seconds later the TV would react. Or the channel guide would scroll endlessly and not respond to picking a channel. They're also not smart TVs so you couldn't connect to your streaming services. The walls and ceilings are so thin, you hear every little movement of your neighbors. Also, our room was directly over the bar/lounge and it was super noisy even after 11pm. The bathrooms were a bit grimy, with discolored caulk and dirty air vents. Also, the water pressure was very low in both the kitchen and bathrooms and the tub drained very slowly, we had to basically stand in 5 inches of water when showering. The kitchen was a bit neglected, with lots of scuffs and marks on the floors and in and outside the cabinets. There was also not enough flatware. The WIFI was atrocious. I was getting 1-2 mbps, while on my mobile network I was getting close to 200 mbps. I just stayed in mobile data for the entire trip. And finally we had a reservation for 5 people in 2 br plus a sofa bed. Even though this was in the reservation details we only received 3 blankets and 4 bath towels. Was it the worst hotel in the world? Definitely not. There were some good points. The staff was friendly, there was lots of free parking and there was a complimentary breakfast which was pretty good. But for $1400 for a 2 day stay I expected much more than this. One star from me, it's both expensive and substandard. I would not stay here again.

On my most recent stay everything was excellent from the service to the room to the amenities. The only downside is that The Opus is much more expensive than the other hotels in the area, but in my opinion you definitely get what you pay for here. If comfort and service is your priority it could be worth the extra money. I personally will continue to stay here when I am back in Westchester. Five stars, great hotel!

And most importantly, the bed was just the way I like it... firm, nice linens, and we slept well. Rooms were spotless, had nice giant windows, everyone we came in contact with were friendly, bath towels were fluffy, and the hotel is beautiful. The bathtub/shower was tricky as you had to take a large step to climb over the tub get into it to shower. Once in the water pressure was good. Large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, bath gel attached to the wall. I think our favorite part of our stay was the complementary yogurt ice cream maker in the lobby. That was a special touch. Had a nice selection of ice cream flavors. It was yummy!! Dale at the front desk was very helpful. He helped us with a few minor things and we appreciated that. My hairdryer wasn't quite hot enough and they brought me another one right away. There are quite a few restaurants in walking distance. We had a large family brunch at the attached Red Horse restaurant (independently owned). It was just ok and service was S L O W. We recommend Columbia House. Lunch was very good there and service was right on. We were only in town for one night but I would stay here again for sure.

Let me tell you something, This Hotel has gone from a three-star hotel to a 4-star hotel, but I give them a five and nothing less. I am a proud travel pass member since 2015. They have done a fantastic job of remodeling. The rooms are FABULOUS, absolutely fabulous and comfortable. It is a luxury room with satisfying upgraded furniture. The bed, couch, chairs, picture, television, and bathroom exemplifying sophistication. Offering bedside reading and access to downloadable books to read. Charging outlets and the lighting sets a romantic tone. All you need to do is have them give you the romantic package and add wine to the list, they aim to please! They offer event space, a swimming pool, fitness center, self-parking as well as Valet parking, a market center with Starbucks, airport shuttle, laundry service, housekeeping, and in room dining. The remodeling has enhanced the bar experience and the dining experience. The restaurant, which is named Whisk, serves this spacious and huge Dine-In area, serving breakfast and dinner only. It is a totally different set-up from the past, and the food seems like it has improved but the service from the dining staff remains the same, friendly, personalized, professional, and pleasant. I had the buffet for about $27 plus. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I should not have gotten the buffet because of my diet, but I did well by eating one plate. Next time I will try A La Carte. I have visited the bar in the past and you can dine at the bar, the people at the bar at the best around. The go out of the way to talk to you and as many times as I have been there, they know me. The valet parking is serviced Metropolis; I paid $34 for about 18 hours and the staff are enthusiastic about parking your car. Pro tip- Have the buffet ordered as part of your stay. An area that needs attention- Housekeeping can use the mop a little more. The floor was a little dusty. It made for a genuinely uncomfortable night's sleep. I later found out I wasn't alone. Others in my group had the same problem, and some ended up needing portable AC units delivered to their rooms, so this seems to be a recurring issue, not a one-off. I reported it but never got a replacement unit or a real fix, just some hotel points as compensation. If you're someone who needs a cold room to sleep well, test your AC before you settle in for the night. Beyond that, there's a lot to like here. This is a genuinely cool older hotel with huge rooms, a great choice if you need an extended stay in White Plains. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were kind and attentive throughout, which counts for a lot. A couple other practical notes: checking in before 3:00 PM was surprisingly difficult, so if you're flying in, plan accordingly. The lobby also has a nice office/work area downstairs, but the music playing throughout runs loud, so it's not ideal if you need to dial into meetings. Great bones and a great staff, but the AC problem is a real issue, and until it's resolved, I couldn't book here again.

We had reserved a room with a King Bed. We got one with two queens. Had we not arrived almost six hours late, I would have gone back to the front desk, but... It should not have been a problem. However, the bed took the prize as the single worst bed I have ever experienced anywhere - anytime. One side was firm and stiff - almost like it was brand new. The other side was a collapsed pit. Unfortunately the middle was "spiked" preventing me from sleeping on the firm side. The quality of the breakfast items was poor and the single staff member assigned to breakfast could not keep up with the crowd. Coffee urns emptied and sat empty, trash bins filled to overflowing. It was not the poor woman's fault - they needed three staff members, not one. The staff member who checked us in didn't offer us bottles of water (as they do at all other locations) and when I came back in the morning, he struggled to find the multiple flats of water that were available. Had I not stayed at many other Residence Inns, I would never stay at one again.

Easy to get too from the city by train & then it's about a 5 minute cab ride. we checked in Sunday morning, room was not yet ready no biggie we changed into our bathing suits & went to relax by the pool. They provide towels, snacks & water which was nice. We had room #30 which was really nice basically like a small apartment, nice bed, jacuzzi tub, fridge very pretty & comfortable w nice toiletries to use. our second day unfortunately had a cloudy & rainy start so we didn't get to enjoy the pool but instead were able to relax in the jacuzzi tub very nice & relaxing. Morning breakfast was decent some , bagels, fruit & pastries they also offered a Quiche option, Chorizo & a Spinach & cheese both not bad, chorizo was better. you had a choice of water, juice , ice tea or coffee .. OJ & coffee both good. This is a nice property when u walk in u feel like u are in someone's home, which is nice, the outside patio/ pool area is cute with seating outside & by the pool a nice way to just relax. it was very quiet not really much of anything going it was a really relaxing weekend which is exactly what we were looking for. we had an enjoyable stay, will keep this place in mind for future plans.

This isn't a review of what it's like to stay at the Stanton House Inn, since I never got to stay…read morethere, but it is a review of their reservation procedures and their honesty. The facts: I made a reservation on March 22nd, 2026, for a three-night stay starting on September 24th, 2026. That's 6 months and two days ahead of my arrival. I then called them back on March 24th and asked them to add an additional day on the backend, which they did. I have confirmation emails for both the initial three nights and for the additional one night. I paid for the entire stay, in full, when I booked the reservation. On Friday, September 18th, less that a week before my arrival, they called to tell me there had been a "mistake" and they had overbooked and my room would not be available. When I received that initial call I was not at my computer, but I estimated that I had made my reservation in early April and I asked the manager, Gillian, "So you're telling me someone made a reservation before me, for the same room?", to which she responded; "Yes. The other party made their reservation on March 28th." When I got home a little later I looked up the confirmation emails and discovered that I had made my initial reservation on March 22nd, so I contacted Gillain again and sent her copies of the confirmation emails from them. I told her that my expectation was that since I had made the reservation first I would be the one getting the room. She said that she would have to talk to the reservation manager and get back to me. The next day she called me back and said that she had made a "mistake" and the other party booked their room before me. When I asked her what day they made the reservation she said "I'm not allowed to tell you that." My analysis: They had two chances to discover there was an overbooking. The first was on March 22nd when I made the original reservation, and then they had another chance on the 24th when I called back an added an additional night. They also had 6 months to figure it out, so it's very suspicious that less than a week before my arrival they suddenly discovered a "mistake" in the booking system that had been missed for 6 months. That the facts kept changing, on when the other party booked the room, is also very suspicious. My guess is that at the last minute a "friend of the hotel" needed a room and the management made a decision to not honor my reservation and left Gillian with having to deliver the bad news. I even made a comment to Gillian while on the phone with her that their credibility was non-existent at that point, and she agreed with me. The resolution: To their credit they agreed to both refund my money (as they certainly should have) and pay for my stay at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich (which they didn't have to do). Nonetheless, the romantic weekend I had planned with my girlfriend went from a nice bed and breakfast room with a fireplace and a balcony, to just a hotel room in a noisy hotel that was hosting 5 (not a typo) different weddings that weekend. I also made reservations, months in advance, at lots of nice restaurants that were close to the Stanton Inn, that now we had to drive back and forth (15-20min each way) to get to from the Hyatt. My take away: While the Stanton Inn may be very nice (I obviously didn't get to stay there so I don't know), but how, given what happened to me, could you ever have confidence that you'd actually get to experience the stay with them you planned, reserved and paid for in advance even if you did so 6 months in advance? I'm reminded of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry shows up at the rental car counter in an airport and they don't have a car for him. As Jerry says "You know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them."

When I told him that I had booked here, he was skeptical, and referenced some past negative history, including a yelp review from three years ago. I told him that the price was much better than some of the other chains in the area. I told him that many of the recent reviews that appeared on Expedia were quite favorable. The rooms apparently have all been recently redone. The pictures provided on the booking website made the room look both clean and modern. The reviews all referenced the cleanliness simplicity and economy of the motel. So despite my friend's misgivings, I kept the reservation. I figured I would arrive early and scope the place out to give myself enough time to make other arrangements if the room was not to my satisfaction. That is exactly what I did. The room looked exactly like the listings on the booking website. The sheets were pristine White and clean. The bathroom was perfectly clean. At night, after the return from my party, the facility parking lot was filled with decent late model vehicles. The facility was quiet. The beds were comfortable. I noticed there is a long bike trail that runs along a river behind the property and extends for miles. I had the opportunity to explore this path the next day. It was lovely. I also understand from my friend, that this motel was used as a scene in the movie the Irishman with Robert De Niro. Overall, I was quite pleased with my experience. For an economy motel, this facility does rate a 5. I was very pleased with.
