I ended up with an armful of crap (WHAT?) all of which ended up costing me less than five dollars. My favorite home goods and decor business is in there Just Simply Vintage, as well as a beautiful plant shop. The boutiques have very stylish and trendy clothes. As well as some very good sweet shops and fresh baked bread. I think my absolute favorite thing about Main Street mercantile is the BEAUTIFUL restoration they did on a historic building!! Customer service is always a bonus when you come here, they make everyone feel welcome and are very helpful if you have questions!! The support for small businesses is defiantly felt here, I think this is what downtown Van Buren needed!!

The booths here are well maintained and the staff is outstanding - Beth who owns the store is an amazing curator and an amazing business person who operates the place in such a way that it doesn't feel so much like a business and more like a swap meet between good friends. We have been long time customers - more than a decade now and followed her to the "new" location from the site she launched her local business years ago (now)! The store has a wait list for before who want to get in and the ones who come tend to stay. They offer vintage traits and groovy finds with a music room as a bonus full of vinyl and sound machines of all kinds! Without that, some of their prices were a little steep (for my thrifty heart) but most were spot-on with the area and other typical thrift stores. Best find of the trip for me: several hard-to-find, small-run, independent-publisher books by my favorite authors. Best find of the trip for my husband: the $4 he spent on $650-worth of camera filters and holders. We spent an hour and a half there and I only managed to get through the books and the glassware, he went through the cases up-front and the music.
