Several bad experiences with calling them to get help for stray animals, they are very useless when…read moreit comes to the south end of Peoria and the outskirt towns of Peoria county, officer Barrick doesn't bother to do her job. Couldn't even "find" the dead dog on the side of the road even with an exact location, I had to go sit with the animal until she decided she was competent enough to do her job and come to the sight that I had been at waiting. She rather worry about animals that are on their own property minding their own business, quite literally. Next time I have a stray animal or abused animal situation I will be calling elsewhere..Somewhere that actually cares about saving animals.

First I would like to say that PAWS and PCAPS are one in the same…read more PCAPS has to take in all animals. They can't say they are full or they don't have the resources for your the animal you have found. They are doing what they can to return animals to there loving homes. The ones they cant they try hard to find loving homes for. Common miss conception is that there is a time limit on the animals. They do everything they can to find homes for animals. Including trying to work with rescues and doing discount adoptions. Even working with national Fondations to offer low and sometimes no cost adoptions. They are here for the community and are trying to places animals back in loving homes within their community. There are several organizations in the area that feel the need to travel to other states and or even other countries to bring animals here to adopt. When there are plenty of loving animals that need homes here locally. They are ever changing and innovating. They are always looking at ways to better the community and our animal friends within the community.

When his family retrieved him, he glared at them the whole ride back, seemingly furious they cut his vacation short. If you are looking for qualified, loving boarding for your small animal, you can't do any better than here.

I was really excited to hear about this rescue, but I cannot recommend them at all. Chad and…read moreMiranda are backyard breeders disguised as a "rescue" who care more about looking like "experts" than they do about the well-being of the animals in their care. They frequently take surrendered chinchillas and "enter them into their breeding program" without any genetic history on the animal, for the purpose of selling baby chinchillas that could carry significant health issues & defects. As for the animals in their rescue, they do not research correct care, and often provide their animals with inadequate and even dangerous setups and products. When corrected or informed that something is unsafe, they brush it off or ignore the correction, and continue spreading dangerous misinformation to potential adopters. They will also sell donated unsafe products to potential adopters, if they don't want to use them themselves. When asked a care question they do not know the answer to, they make a guess and present it as fact, rather than actually look it up. They also neglect to ensure their animals are going to safe, loving homes; the questions about care are limited, and they basically allow adoptions to anyone who "promises" to care for the animal, no background check necessary. They will also happily misrepresent the animal's health, temperament, or needs to a potential adopter, if it means that person will take the animal off their hands. This is just the tip of the iceberg; I've talked to many other people who have had negative experiences and stories from this rescue. If you're looking for a good small animal rescue nearby that really cares for their animals, I would direct you to Hoppy Haven or Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary. They are more professional, more transparent, and so much better equipped to answer your care questions.
