Learning how to give back to the community and help the less fortunate are personality traits that have been instilled in everyone at Lasalle. The teachers and staff are friendly and always readily accessible. If I have a question, it will be answered promptly no matter what it is about. My son is assigned a class dean & counselor that will stay with him until he graduates, they really get to know one another and can watch my son grow throughout the 4 yrs. Not only does Lasalle prepare the student for college but help us along the path too. It is large enough that each daughter is able to find her place academically, socially, spiritually, athletically and is able to develop a healthy sense of self. MB is unique in that the Quaker values provide a calming, quiet powerful start to their day and help to build a partnership with their teachers. Our world is changing fast and we feel that Moses Brown is focused on the world that our girls will thrive in bc of their experiences and problem solving skills. No school is perfect but from our experience we feel that MB partners with us as parents to help mentor our kids to be the best they can be, to help make the world around them a better place and to feel Confident in their abilities. It is a challenging school but large enough to accommodate different learning styles. When there are tough issues that arise the faculty addresses them immediately. Our family is active at the school because we believe in the MB mission and feel blessed to be a part of the welcoming community.

Trying to contact people during the summer months is somewhat painstaking, and the staff who greeed me at the door have the same warmth as the secretary character in Monster's Inc, Roz. If you have to go upstairs to the Special Ed department, know that you are once again greeted with an unwarm hello. For parents of a young child, just entering school, I was completely turned off. We were recommended to go there for a somewhat sensitive evaluation, and I ended up just feeling like I was a bother to most of the staff. The building is old and not welcoming, the staff seemed incredibly disorganized (they messed up my appointment) and we left our appointment thinking that we might not want to continue doing any schooling through PVD.

I graduated in 2004 so our 20-year class reunion is this year. Feels like so long ago...well…read morebecause it was haha. However, at the same time, the time sure flew by. From what I recalled, I had a good high school experience, during this crucial time, shaping me as an adult. The classes and teachers overall, were good. The school was old so there were lots of updates needed; I heard they did so after I graduated. I had my close knit group of friends but there were your typical cliques throughout. It almost reminded me of the movie, Freedom Writers but less hood; we had the cliques, jocks, nerds, preps, goths, smart Asians, and cool Asians lol. A few of my favorite classes were, art, photography, sculpture, graphic design, fashion, and social science. Here's my list when I think of Cranston East during my day: Pros: Diverse Safe Good teachers Fun events (prom/dances/pep rally) Variety of classes Cons: Old building Having to walk across the street to the Briggs building for classes Math classes Limited parking Short lunches Overcrowded I wish I was more involved, but I was a shy, introverted, and quiet kid; I had my small group of friends and didn't really branch out. Also, I started working at 15 years old so not much of an extracurricular school/social life. I did junior varsity soccer for a few months until I started working; that was fun but hard (hate running). If I could do high school again, I probably wouldn't have worked (even though it gave me valuable skills/life lessons), joined more clubs/extracurricular activities, and meet more people at school; to just be a carefree kid with no responsibilities again! Slow down please, father time.
