GYMNASIUM REVIEW ONLY:…read more My Daughter is currently enrolled in a fall mini-club via Blast Volleyball that is out of Gordon School. Kudos to Gordon for seeing an a opportunity to support kids athletics and make a little money! The school is nestled off a major road, in a suburban neighborhood. Not a large parking lot, but enough spots that we require. Cute little playground. The facility is very clean with ample bathrooms (they have baby wipes and offer free lady products in the bathrooms!) The gymnasium is in great condition with bleachers. Great space for your kids to practice.

It is large enough that each daughter is able to find her place academically, socially, spiritually, athletically and is able to develop a healthy sense of self. MB is unique in that the Quaker values provide a calming, quiet powerful start to their day and help to build a partnership with their teachers. Our world is changing fast and we feel that Moses Brown is focused on the world that our girls will thrive in bc of their experiences and problem solving skills. No school is perfect but from our experience we feel that MB partners with us as parents to help mentor our kids to be the best they can be, to help make the world around them a better place and to feel Confident in their abilities. It is a challenging school but large enough to accommodate different learning styles. When there are tough issues that arise the faculty addresses them immediately. Our family is active at the school because we believe in the MB mission and feel blessed to be a part of the welcoming community.

I felt compelled to post publicly what I saw while at a business across from Oliver Day School…read more When I got out of my car, I saw a teacher sitting on her phone while at least 2-3 kids were screaming. I watched for a few minutes and she never looked up from her phone. This continued for atleast 10 minutes. Another child was screaming inside and pounding on the glass door. The teacher never looked or acknowledged any of these kids. 30 minutes later, two additional teachers were outside with their little ones. There was screaming, crying and the teachers were just standing there talking to each other. I saw two teachers grab kids by their wrists to lift them off the ground and carry them inside. These kids looked roughly 1-2 years old!!! I asked a woman who frequents a business across the street what is going on with this daycare and she said she had witnessed similar situations. However, when she called the school, they were extremely rude and defensive. I would want to know this if I was looking at this school to send my child to or if this is where I was paying to send my child. The kids at this age do not have the ability to tell their parents what is happening throughout the day. I would AVOID this place.

The best decision I ever made regarding education for my daughter was sending her to a French…read moreAmerican school. Being fluent in French opened up many exciting opportunities for her for college. She attended a prestigious French university for a very, very reasonable price (Sciences Po.) In fact, much of the money we spent on her elementary school French education was saved when she attended the French University. She now attends an Ivy in the USA. My grandson is carrying on this new family tradition by attending FASRI. I have been impressed with the quality of teachers and staff. They are professional, patient, and warm. My grandson is rapidly learning French. I feel incredibly lucky that there is such a high quality bilingual school near where my daughter is living. They also have something called "Passport." It is a program for older children who attend the school who do not have a background in French. It makes the transition to French much easier.

Her two eldest daughters were among the school's six pupils, and in September 1994, she with a small baby in her arms she taught the first classes. Inspired by her own experience at an elementary school near Paris, Madame Velociter wanted her daughters to have access to a similar type of education. The dual-language program she created combines the rigor and excellence of the French system, with more project-based educational techniques found in some American independent schools. In the spring of 2000, the school moved to its present location at 75 John St. In 2012, Dominique Velociter was made knight in the Order of the French Legion of Honor in recognition of her outstanding services to French education and culture through the creation of the school.

Our daughter attended this school from 2nd grade (began right before Covid) until 5th grade. The…read moreschool looks great inside which I now realize is where most of their money goes. 2nd grade was primarily online because of Covid and their DL program was terrible and did not adhere to their mission statement. The parents tried to work together to fix this and this is when we began to realize that parents have absolutely no voice at this school. Kids were starting to get kicked out as soon as their parents began advocating for them. They lost 4 students in 3rd grade, then 1 in fourth and 2 more in 5th including us. Safety is a major issue at this school. There are no crossing guards at drop off and pick up, the traffic is a nightmare by the school and there is no assistance getting in and out. Our daughter was almost hit by cars many times and the principal refused to address this. There is no security at recess and the school is in a very dangerous area. A stranger was permitted to approach the children at recess. Bullying is permitted and honestly enabled. The same child bullied multiple students including our daughter and still remains at the school. The school uses pictures of disabled students to promote and raise money while pretending to be inclusive. The school consistently breaks their own guidelines/rules and refuses to adhere to state mandates and guidelines. They accepted government funding for meals during Covid and then only handed out a small portion of the food, pocketing the rest of the funds. The teachers and head of school were aware but chose to do nothing. While there are a few good teachers at this school it is a corrupt and dangerous place with incompetent people in power.

It was founded by Congregationalist separatists from Swansea, Massachusetts and incorporated in 1717. We visit Barrington often to go shopping, as we ride through it while on the East Bay Bike path, or to eat at one of the many restaurants. The town is well known in Rhode Island as an affluent town with some of the best schools in the state. Barrington was ceded to the state of Rhode Island and merged into Warren in 1747, though it was later made into a separate town by the Rhode Island legislature. It was a sparsely developed, agricultural community until the arrival of brick making companies in the 1850s, which employed large numbers of French-Canadians and Italians. Historical sites provide examples of architectural and suburban development during various stages of the town's history, including the Allen-West House, Barrington Civic Center Historic District, and O'Bannon Mill. Nine sites in Barrington are listed under the National Register of Historic Places. The population of this town is about 17,000 people.
