Holy throwback vibes!! This place literally feels like you're walking back in time. If you used to…read morego skating when you were a child and are looking for some nostalgia this is definitely the spot to hit. We took our daughter here recently to get some wiggles out and just enjoy learning a new skill. She's only been skating a few times around our neighborhood and we thought that this would be an immersive way to get her into the hobby. Definitely check out their calendar of events and when they have good offers and deals. You're likely to score a cheaper price than regular pricing if you pay attention. They also have themed nights and exclusive school nights. You can bring your own skates but you'll need to make sure that they pass the skate check. They do have some limitations on skates you bring in to ensure that their floors don't get torn up. As a side note you'll also want to make sure you bring in identification for all adults, and leave any food or drinks that come from outside in your car. Learned both of these the hard way. They have a smaller child skating area that helps them learn before they get out onto the bigger floor. Our daughter enjoyed this so that she had a little bit of time to learn before being thrown into a large space. We did have her try out the large space after about an hour of practice. They also have a limited number of arcade games, a small cafe, and a birthday party room. Overall: A Well it is a bit dated and could use some upgrades, it brings with it all the nostalgia of my childhood so it was still a win. I would definitely come back for a visit but try again on a non weekend day when the pricing is a little bit lower.

I'm extremely disappointed in how my disabled child was treated by this facility. If you have any…read moresort of nutritional, medication, or sensory needs, you won't be accommodated here! They do not allow exceptions for outside food OR re-entry...which is an ADA violation. I was informed of a re-entry fee, so we called right after we left the rink to explain our situation (because I didn't feel comfortable disclosing medical information in public, with children present) and was reassured that we wouldn't have to pay a fee. When we arrived just a few minutes later, the cashier was nice but confused, so she asked the man at the front door. He refused to let us back in...he gave my kid a weird look and just kept saying "if want to come back, we're charging you again!!" I believe this was Michael, based on other reviews mentioning him... My kids are very unhappy and I've lost almost $40, despite using two "free entry" coupons.

Before taking a trip to Whistler Blackcomb, my husband and I came here for a refresher lesson. We…read moredid a group lesson and alternated with another family of three. We probably got 25 minutes out of an hour on the slope, and the coach was not really giving us personal instruction. We skied, and the "lesson" focused more on how to use the simulator than how to ski more advanced. We are at the intermediate level (can parallel ski, control speed and turns, run moguls, etc.), and it seemed like the instructor may specialize in beginner instruction. It was a nice warm-up for our trip, and we each had a takeaway that made us feel like it wasn't a waste; however, I wouldn't spend that money again for the value received.

I…read morewas also attending the Central Florida Black Tennis Social Club - which met up prior to the start of the clinic and after the clinic ended. It was great meeting liked minded individuals that were curious on picking up a new health conscious hobby like, tennis. Fort Gatlin offers various recreational clinics and facility services you can rent. For the tennis clinic, I rented a tennis racket. The tennis balls were provided by the facility. I was on court #9 for the beginner's class. It was two hours long and it covered the fundamentals. The instructor was nice and kind. He was thorough in his explanation of various points of learning to understand the rules and ways of the game. I will note, give yourself grace as tennis is a very demanding sport. You will likely mess up but the point is that you TRY. The facilities as a whole, were clean and orderly. The staff, again, as noted were kind and helpful. They would guide us on various techniques to improve upon and so on. The clinic itself lasted a couple of hours. It was one of the most energetic workouts I've done in ages!! I recommend, bringing water and a towel to dab all the sweat you'll seat. I'll be back for sure - for future lessons/clinics!

You can check the schedule online and book a court or wing it and do so when you arrive. I've noticed a time or two when it looks like every court is blocked online and they were actually all open, so I'd recommend calling to verify if there are no spots. Day-of has always worked for me. The courts themselves are well-maintained and many are recently re-painted. Some of them have the practice nets separating the two courts so your balls stay close by (this is for newbs like me). The bathrooms are nearby and adequate. Nothing spectacular, but they work and have been clean when I've been there. Overall, great courts! I'd recommend.

A friend and I decided to try a new park for a walking adventure…read more Unfortunately, it looks like the walking paths that she remembered were under construction as it was nothing more than a muddy pathway and unwalkable. Otherwise, it seems like a nice park with plenty of parking, some covered pavilions, tennis course and fields for sports. I have not had the opportunity to interact with any staff or make any reservations, if needed, so I can't speak to that.

In the late 1800's and early 1900's, settlers used a cattle trail to reach the 29 acre Red Bug Lake…read moreto water their cattle. Unfortunately for them, the area was plagued by chiggers, small biting insects that would irritate the cattle and the cowboys tending them. The lake and the road leading to it became known as Red Bug Lake and Red Bug Lake Road because of the abundance of the biting red bugs. Thankfully there is no longer any sign of the biting red bugs. Today Red Bug Lake is the site of a popular park with a variety of recreational amenities. These include a restroom, playground, baseball field, sand volleyball court, outdoor exercise equipment, tennis courts, fishing pier, and boardwalk. Adult softball leagues and adult and youth tennis programs are offered in the park. This park is clean and well maintained. I especially enjoyed taking in nature and wildlife on the .9 mile paved walking trail that circles the lake. I was able to spot several birds. It is ideal for joggers, walkers, and anyone looking to participate in gentle exercise. The park also has a picnic area with tables and grill for family gatherings and cookouts. This park is a great recreational spot for relaxing, exercising, and enjoying family time.
